My experience renting a car here was top notch. Mayci especially was a huge help, made the process…read moresmooth and easy. She was very personable and helped me pick out the car I wanted and the whole process took a very reasonable amount of time. I was practically in and out! I've been using Avis for several years now and I'll be back to this one the next time I need a rental.

I had to go through the Better Business Bureau...... My…read morecomplaint was that the Avis attendant at the rental site is effectively not supported by their employer. They had to scrounge up a vehicle due to low inventory (not the location's fault) but told me I was entitled to a refund as a result. That's where the problem started. I'm now going through my credit card to argue the issue. Below is my rejection of what the Avis "corporate office" had to offer - they were giving me a "free rental day"..... this is NOT a refund..... They also tried to tell me that what I was given was "higher rental" rated vehicle - essentially going against what their own employee told me..... So I informed them I'm not satisfied for the following reasons..... 1) Failure to rectify the issue to the customer's satisfaction and to what would be considered as fair business practices. If an Avis employee informs the customer they are entitled to a refund based on what they see in their system at the counter and since they are the ones that ISSUE THE VEHICLE, then it stands within good business discipline that a refund should be awarded to the customer in the interest of providing quality service. If the employee should not have conducted themselves like that then this is an internal business issue within Avis that should be handled through adequately training their employees vice ping-pong their customers around between a remote field office and corporate Avis. Clearly this depicts that Avis is NOT WILLING to stand behind it's own employees who are not being given full autonomy if the "corporate office" is willing to rollover on their own employees as well as their customers. 2) Lack of transparency of vehicles "rates" and the "rating system". The argument below supposes that I'm to know how or why a Dodge caravan (as an example) is a "standard" van and a Chrysler Pacifica is a "luxury" van.... and then perhaps a Honda Odyssey is a "premium" van. In my book - they are ALL mini-vans plain and simple. Telling me after-the-fact that the vehicle I had is some "higher" level rated rental is meaningless and obtuse. This reduces to a simple counter argument whereby the customer is powerless to respond simply because they are not involved and provided no guidance on how vehicles are rated. This further supports the FACT that the customer is 100% reliant on what the clerk at the counter informs them of and given that the "corporate office" seemingly does not support their own field employees Avis corporate can then arbitrability deny or support what their satellites employees do at their whim or as a situation benefits the larger Avis business. Furthermore, this paints the issue in a different light by twisting the argument into "we gave you a better vehicle" vice honor what their own employee told the customer. I'm not even bringing up the issue of "points" - clearly this process is much too hard to rectify. I will inform Avis here though that when I bring up a "points" issue with most hotels, airlines, and similar they typically award the points after verifying the business transaction vice tell their customers they need to sign up and then opt-in and join some special club.... even if that were true they explain the what/why and then award the points . What I find most distressing is that I have to go through such great lengths here to explain this and essentially get what an Avis employee tells me I'm entitled to. In a court of law the employee would be considered a de facto corporate representative of Avis - it would behoove the business to support their own accordingly. The one day rental is "nice" but this assumes that I will be doing any business with Avis in the future.... should I be? Would you reading this "LIKE" to go through this? Would you expect your family members to have this experience? The basic issue remains. The Avis attendant said "refund" - Avis refuses. I assume I have to take this up with my credit card and online at various review sites. Seemingly this is what Avis desires. There's a book that could help here - it's called "Raving Fans" - it's the kind of customers I have, because I treat them better than they expect. It's a great read - and its precepts, if followed, could produce similar customers for Avis if implemented.

To be safe and not damage the car : I called the Enterprise by my Dads place where I was staying. They immediately put me in a car, later that day when we found out the luxury car needed to be taken to the dealer, Marquis at the Royal Oak office put me a very nice new car. He also was so professional, kind and hardworking. Upon changing my reservation & returning my car to DTW a few days early as had to get back home for a work project : was presented a bill that hadn't been adjusted yet. Mike took the lead and was kind, professional and apologetic to my situation. I wasn't looking for sympathy: life happens, it's how we you react to the events that define who you are. Mike offered a very generous discount for my inconvenience and I accepted. He told me he'd take care of it as I was trying to catch the shuttle (which they have a ton of so rides to and from DTW were super quick). This morning I had call from David the store manager who wanted to make sure I was happy with my experience. The level of professional service, kind demeanor and above & beyond good humans (even the young lady who checked my car in) at every turn made this an experience I won't forget. Remember you get more bees with honey. The way the whole Enterprise team handled this very little hiccup makes them the sweetest in my book!

I have never been SOOOOO disappointed in Enterprise in my life…read more We booked a 15-passenger van with Enterprise on January 20, 2026, well in advance of our trip scheduled for July 24 through August 2. This was not just any trip. A group of family and friends were travelling with me from Canada to Texas so we could bring my husband's ashes home. It was an incredibly important and emotional journey for all of us. Because of how important this trip was, we did everything we could to make sure there would be no issues. We confirmed our reservation multiple times over the months leading up to our departure. We even called Enterprise three separate times during the week before our trip, and each time we were assured that everything was good to go. Then, on the very day we were supposed to leave, we received a call telling us they did not have a vehicle for us. WHAT?! How does this even happen? We immediately called and asked to speak with a manager, but instead of receiving a solution, we were given a frustrating runaround of excuses. We were eventually told that an area manager would supposedly have a vehicle brought to the airport for our 6:00 p.m. pickup time. This was especially confusing because we had initially been told there were no vehicles available due to recalls. At that point, we simply could not gamble with our trip or trust that Enterprise would actually come through. We had to start calling other rental companies ourselves, scrambling at the very last minute to find transportation for our family and friends. We planned ahead. We booked months in advance. We repeatedly confirmed our reservation. We called multiple times the week before. We did everything right. And despite all of that, Enterprise didn't just drop the ball--they stomped on it at the worst possible moment. Thankfully, Budget Rental came through for us when we needed them most. They helped us out at the last minute and made sure we had a vehicle so we could continue with our journey. Thank you, Budget, for stepping up when Enterprise let us down. You have earned our business going forward, as well as the business of everyone I know who hears this story. Enterprise, you should be ashamed of how this reservation was handled. When people are trusting you with something this important, the least you can do is honour a reservation that was made six months in advance and repeatedly confirmed.

Caught an expensive Uber to the location only to be extremely disappointed. Not only did they not take debit card holds, but I wasn't able to get a rental because I had no flight information (I stay in the city and only needed the vehicle for one day). To make matters even worse, they refused to give me a refund, stating that I would be charged a no-show fee of $140 even though I did, in fact show. The nightmare began when I returned the vehicle on the day it was due back. I pulled it into the lot and left it in the proper location with a dollar Rent-A-Car employee present. I was told that the vehicle would be checked in and I would receive an invoice by email. Needless to say neither of those occurred. beginning the following day I started receiving text messages from my credit card company that additional charges from Dollar Rent-A-Car were being applied. This went on for several days until I finally received a threatening email from Hertz corporation saying that they are turning my account over to a repossession agency because I failed to return the vehicle. I have spent upwards of six hours on the telephone trying to get the contract closed out. That finally occurred yesterday and I was hit with a bill for over $900 fortunately I spoke with a representative on the phone that is crediting my account. I will wait and see if that actually occurs. All of this aggravation and needless time wasting occurred because the dollar Rent-A-Car location in has employees that are unable to perform their job. I will never ever rent a vehicle from this location again.
