Would definitely head back for an oil change or if any other minor car issues come up.

I've moved all my business dealings local since March 2020 due to COVID-19. I decided that keeping my money in my community was important to me. I wanted the local businesses to feel supported and stay healthy during the pandemic. The last thing I want to see, in my community, v is a bunch of boarded up abandoned businesses that went bankrupt for lack of support. My motto has become, "shop where I live!" I try to limit my spending to my County, my zip code, my City, and places where I can't easily walk. It's actually been kind of fun! This place fits all the criteria! The people at this shop are amazing! When a car wash broke my heating vent and the dealership wanted a ridiculous amount of money to repair it, these folks helped me out by finding a used part and saving me some money! I was so grateful! Little things means a lot to me. They've helped me out with other things. Air in my "suddenly" flattening tires. Oil changes when the service light went on and my appointment was later in the day than I could handle! They even called me to apologize for a customer they perceived had harassed me (he hadn't)! What chivalry!!!! I am amazed at the quality of service here! It really just blows my mind! Even the shop dog, Luna, greets you at the door as if she knows to make sure you feel valued! I highly recommend this shop! It's classy! It's classic!! It's got class!!! Just go see for yourself! Say hi to Luna!

Everyone needs a place they can trust when it comes to auto care, and I am so thankful that I found…read morethese guys. Dependable Auto is a gold mine in my very own backyard. This city treasure is a rare triple-threat combination of honestly, knowledge, and accountability. JB and Tommy are the gentleman that will be working on your vehicle, and they both have a profound knowledge in the auto repair industry - not to mention a broad spectrum of it. One of the most valued aspects of this place is the lack of BS. They will not invent problems, they will not exacerbate existing issues, and they absolutely will not give you any salesy dialogue. In the last year, they have helped me turn a 2005 Ford Escape from near death to working fantastic with no problems. My heat was out, the thermostat was broken, the engine was overheating, the alignment was off, the suspension was poor, the front and back brakes were ruined, the oil was leaking, the top hinge on the back window liftgate was rotted out and the window was hanging, and the ball joints were loose. I was in a difficult place financially and they worked with me. JB and Tommy sat me down and walked through the progressions of top priority to lowest, and a year later my car is as running at high performance with zero issues. They do small jobs and big jobs, they order small parts or large ones. You name it they will do it. Financing is available if you aren't able to settle up front, and they are flexible as to when they can work on the vehicle. If you have something that doesn't need to be fixed right away, JB and Tommy will let you know that you have some flexibility when it comes to that particular issue. Dependable Auto will never do something to your car that is going to cost you money - that doesn't need to be done. Tommy is perhaps the hardest working guy I've ever seen. This company is built on honestly and integrity. JB is a proud owner who has gone out of his way to uphold the history of Dependable Auto. Originally called Cities Service, the original owner came in recently and shared a photo with JB that showed the original spot with gas pumps and a vintage Coke machine. As many people know it was then owned by Mr. Rosenberger and then Rosenberger's son Gary. Gary was a beloved member of the 1977 Marquette Warriors that won the NCAA National Championship. It's always what you want, when you want it. I have never felt this way about any business that I have had to give money too. But that's what's unique about the industry - you are able to develop a relationship with a foundation of trust and understanding - and you can go back to it without ever having to working about a car again. I've never had a reason to write such great things about a company, and it feels good to do it and be completely authentic about it.

I had them look it over before purchasing this Toyota Rav4 and they assured me it was as great car. Within months several things went wrong with the car that racked up thousands of dollars in repairs, way beyond the original cost of the vehicle. These were things that a mechanic should be able to see and predict, like the transmission completely giving out. Within a year I had put $12,000 into repairs on this car that they had originally assured me would be a great purchase. It was the transmission that really soured my entire experience with Ruby Isle. They sent it somewhere to have a rebuilt transmission put in, which took at least 6 weeks. It cost over $6,000, but came with a warranty, a warranty we were still under. A few months after the transmission replacement, my daughter drove the car to California to take a temp job for 6 months. A week before she was to drive it back home, the replaced transmission gave out. Her lease was up, she had to leave and was forced to buy another car to get home. I had called John at Ruby Isle as soon as this happened and he wanted me to bring the car in. I could not bring the car in as it was now dead on the ground in California. He said I should have given them more notice, even though I had called and not heard back from him for a number of days and there was no way to give more notice. This is how things happen - she's in CA and out of her apartment in days with no where to go and she can't get home. John said he would contact the transmission place they had used to see if there was somewhere she could take the car out in CA, but he never got back to me in time (said the transmission people hadn't gotten back to him in time), so that car is now a complete loss and I never got a cent back from the warranty on that transmission. I also never heard back from John again, despite his promise that he would look into the warranty with the transmission people. He completely ghosted me, haven't heard from him in months now. I suppose he figures it's over and done, but I lost over $12,000 on that car in less than 18 months after his assurance that this was a good purchase for my daughter. My confidence in Ruby Isle is shattered and I can never go back there. I will never trust their expertise, and I was completely taken for thousands of dollars, over $12,000, in the end.
