He started attending Nido when he was around 9 months old and is building so many life skills such as independence (eating with a spoon or fork, drinking from a cup without even spilling, listening and doing simple commands like putting something away, picking something up, closing the door, etc.) I also noticed his concentration when he's playing with things at home or when we're at the dining table. I could go on and on about the things I notice him doing since starting at Nido. My son loves going to school each day and he adores his Montessori guide, Ms. Maria. She is very attentive and I appreciate that she really observes each child. She communicates well and her school is a true Montessori environment. She is always available whenever we have any questions. I definitely learn so much from her as I try to incorporate more of the Montessori philosophy at home and as a parent. She always emphasizes how she's there to work together with the parents for the child to benefit the most. We wished we could've start our first child with the Montessori philosophy earlier on because I can see how beneficial it is in life. I don't feel like I drop off my son to a "daycare". It's a Montessori school where the children "work", learn, and have fun.

We gave it some time, and she just wasn't adjusting like she should have so we made the decision to pull her out on a Thursday. My daughter started with Ms. Maria the following Monday part time and it only took her a few days to adjust, by Thursday she was already staying longer and was saying "I want to go to my new school" as soon as she woke up. Maria really knows and believes in the Montessori philosophy. She truly cares about the children and their well being. If you are looking for a true Montessori for your child, Maria is one of the few environments around who will give you that experience. It will be the best decision you make for your child.

Until the age of two, we were able to nurture his love of creativity through art, get him engaged in reading and music, and keep him active and independent while learning at home, but his social-emotional growth needed a community like Modern Schoolhouse to truly develop. We met another family at his favorite playground that had an AMAZING experience at Modern Schoolhouse and their daughter, who was academically gifted and raised with similar philosophies, was thriving under their care. We enrolled and discovered for ourselves that Modern Schoolhouse was indeed an absolute gem for child development. Our son entered after turning two, and he was very shy/reserved at the time. The talking, dancing, singing, bilingual artist that blew us away with his funny ideas and love of learning at home, needed help expressing himself in the larger group. Over the next several years, Leonardo was able to grow and thrive his ability to emotionally self-regulate, from having a 'safe space' at home to being able to identify what he was feeling and how to 'calm his body,' to listening to others and respecting common space. What we didn't anticipate was not just the top quality of the school, the clean aesthetic spaces, and the exceptional teachers (Teacher Alicia from class 3 was truly amazing!!), but also the like minded and kind community that became a key part of our son's social life. During our son's first years at home, we studied Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia- instituting some principles of each in our approach at home. It wasn't until we met Sue and her philosophies at Modern Schoolhouse did we see some of these same philosophies embodied in an American child care setting; and we must have interviewed or toured at 5 or more local schools before finding Modern Schoolhouse. The core beliefs consist of the idea that children are competent, capable, curious individuals with hundreds of ways of self expression. The role of the school and family should be creating a structured, clean, and aesthetic environment that is conducive stimulating exploration and discovery. Teachers in this sense guide and foster collaboration rather than just 'delivering information.' Giving our son a new challenge was hard at first, but Sue and her staff were quick to offer suggestions and outside resources so we could reinforce some lessons at home, especially around his development of social/emotional skills like managing anger, dealing with disappointment, and learning to communicate when he needed space. He also was given the chance to learn how to build relationships and have positive interactions with new friends. Each 'season' and month had different themes that would be clearly delivered in monthly/quarterly emails along with chances to meet with teachers on child progress in key development areas of language, tracing, use of scissors, how to put on shoes/jackets, counting, class participation/listening, and emotional self expression. By class 3 (3 years old and above), our son was giving 'show and tell' presentations, using the 'sharing bee' to discuss their weekend, and playing inventive games to stimulate imagination and curiosity. Through the use of brightwheel, we were always shown photos and videos of our son having fun with friends and doing some fun activity. The school also offered many events at the school such as the "annual art show," "parent and me" day, and music sessions from Teacher Gaia culminating in a student led music performance (the cutest!). This year all the 4 classes made their own animal costumes and acted out various Disney themes. It was extraordinary to see him flourish and thrive under Teacher Alicia in class 3, who is truly remarkable for her ability to connect to kids and meet them where they are on the journey. By the end he was more confident in his presentations and even singing his favorite Disney songs Karaoke style to the class! Everything ended on a wonderful note with his graduation and small speech to parents and the graduating class. We were given an opportunity for a graduation photoshoot and his 'family book' with messages from all of the teachers as a keepsake that he created during his time there. As he graduated before many of the others in class 3, everyone created a special hand painted art for him with with the handprints of all his friends. It is bittersweet to go onto the next chapter, but he graduated school scoring high in every single metric of development, and he easily was interviewed and accepted into an international private school. Thanks you for being such a key part of his childhood journey and we hope to stay in touch with Leonardo and our growing family!

Initially, we had some concerns about starting him so young, but it quickly became clear that enrolling him early was the right choice. He is truly thriving--emotionally, mentally, and intellectually. The curriculum at TMS is incredibly well thought out. Each activity clearly connects to the weekly or daily theme, and we've seen real growth in our son's development. He's starting to learn the alphabet and has become much more verbal since he began. What stands out even more is how happy our child is at TMS. Every photo we receive through the app shows him smiling, and we always feel confident dropping him off, knowing he's in caring and capable hands. The teachers, staff, and owner (Sue) are exceptional. Our son absolutely adores his teachers and lights up when we mention their names in the morning. Even though he's usually very attached to us, he was so excited to see his teacher at the Annual Art Show that he practically leaped from my arms to greet her. That kind of connection is exactly what every parent hopes for in a school: a place where your child feels loved and supported. On top of all this, the school is extremely clean. Our son has hardly been sick, and we've noticed how attentive the staff is to hygiene--little ones always have their noses wiped, diapers changed very frequently and the environment is clearly well-maintained. TMS is far beyond a typical daycare--it's a place where our child is growing, learning, and genuinely happy.

My daughter started off part-time and has transitioned to full time. She actually goes to sleep asking to go back to school and weekends she is bummed she is not going to school . I love that the teacher communicate with parents and send pictures of the children to parents. It makes me feel happy and at peace while at work. She is still attending Blossom Garden and is thriving. I will update again, but as of now, this is the best decision we have made.

The teachers are amazing--especially Ms. Erika and Ms. Johanna. They are patient, caring, and genuinely invested in the kids. They helped both of our children successfully potty train, which was a huge milestone for our family. It's clear they have a lot of experience and a lot of heart. Communication has always been excellent. They keep parents informed and immediately communicate any issues or concerns. At the same time, they create such a warm and supportive environment that both of our kids always felt safe, cared for, and happy to go to school. Beyond academics, Blossom has helped our children grow socially and emotionally. They made great friends, learned how to share, cooperate, and work with others. The school also does fun crafts and engaging activities that keep the kids excited about learning. Our kids have learned so much here--from the alphabet and early writing skills to kindness, empathy, and caring about the community around them. We're so grateful for the teachers and the nurturing environment they provide. We highly recommend Blossom Learning Academy to any family looking for a preschool where their children will truly be cared for and supported while learning and growing.

The teachers are amazing-so warm, communicative, and you can tell they truly care about the kids and their success. The school itself is great. The playground is huge, the campus is very clean, and safety is clearly a priority with security cameras around the school. Compared to other local preschools we toured, the classrooms and playground here are by far the most spacious, which we really appreciated. We also like that the school focuses on both academics and play. Even starting in preschool, they introduce light homework, which helps build good learning habits early while still keeping things fun. Another thing we love is their focus on community engagement. They bring in local police officers, firefighters, and librarians to talk to the kids about safety and the community. Fridays are especially fun with activities like pizza making, dress-up days, and arts and crafts. They also do a great job celebrating different cultural holidays so every family feels included. Mandarin and Spanish classes are available too (for an additional cost), which is a nice bonus. Overall, we've had a great experience and would definitely recommend Little Otters Academy to other families looking for a caring and well-rounded preschool/TK program.

My son has grown to be so well mannered because of the care that Landy has provided. There is a long waitlist, I waited almost 8 months before I was even consider. I applied while I was living in Chicago, and was waitlisted. Also her school is small could only accommodate maybe 15-16 students max so that is why getting in is so hard. I wish I had more children to send to her but I don't. My son was taught everything other schools probably would never have focus on, he was able to dress himself and be fully potty train by the age of 14months. He was always super clean when he came home, they changed his clothes about 3 times a day. My little one continued being super clean on his own because of this. I just had lots of laundry weekly The whole school was super clean, it's a home daycare/preschool. Speaking Chinese at home was required to come to her school so she could continue this with the kids, I'm so glad I found her. My little boy speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin because of this. The bad thing about being at Landy's is that the families especially us all got spoil, now trying to find anything close to this will be difficult and transitioning my son to a public school has been hard....he now comes home all dirty Another thing I have to praise her about is that she stayed open for all the essential families during the pandemic, she gave life to the kids while the rest of the whole world was suffering with in-home learning with their schools. I'm in healthcare, so with this she help me out so much !!! Thank you Landy and staff for an amazing four years !!! We are forever thankful don't know what we would of done without you!!!

She keeps the kids occupied with a lot of programming and structured outdoor/indoor play. I also love that she is extremely flexible when it comes to nap time and every child's different schedule. For example, if she sees that your child did not have a good night's sleep and sees that he/she is extra tired in the morning, she encourages them to take an earlier nap instead of play. Get on her list asap if you are looking for care! You won't regret it. It truly is a privilege for any child to be in her care. Landy - my boys miss you so much! Having a live-in postpartum nanny help…read moreyou with your baby 18 hours a day sounds like a dream but sometimes can be more stressful than anything else. We have used 3 nannies from this agency so far and I had communication issues with all of them. The nannies are very stubborn and stuck in their own ways. They have a difficult time following direction and instead insist on doing things the way they want to. The first nanny we had was constantly making phone calls on the clock and refused to heat up the milk prior to feeding our baby. The second nanny was better, she helped keep our home tidy, and was good with our baby. She was probably the best nanny we had from this agency. Unfortunately, she injured her back and had to leave our family earlier than planned. Which brings us to our current and final nanny from this agency. She's a little older so she can't help carry the baby in her car seat up the stairs. She's often on her iPhone watching Chinese dramas. She also decided to hang up her dirty underwear and bra on our hallway bathroom towel rack. Additionally, she seems to have a lot of unsolicited advice on how we should dress our baby. She doesn't cook for us or do the baby's laundry. She doesn't even know how to follow directions ie shoves the nipple of the bottle in my bottle averse baby's mouth & ignored me when I told her "no". It doesn't seem that this agency takes the time to really vet out these nannies, instead hiring whomever applies. The agency also takes a while to respond to any text messages which is also incredibly frustrating. I highly recommend spending a little extra coin and using a different agency. Especially if you are a first time parent.

My daughter did a half day at the Pasadena location while my husband and I went on a much-needed date. I love how their classes are 10 students max, for ages 2-11, and they have different lessons and curriculums they switch up. For example, my daughter made a little shaker instrument when she was there. I also didn't have time to pack her any snacks or food, so I ordered a Little Spoon meal from them, and she ate it all up, she loved it! If you do pack your own foods, be mindful it's a nut-free facility.
