I have no clue how to really describe it, but let me point out it is NOT BAD, it is just well done, the music even feels like something they would play in the old Soviet. It has its own little charm, but you won't find my hanging out here. My main problem is however that it only has one bar. It is small, and I can totally see this place being packed on the weekend creating unnecessary long lines (don't shoot me if I am wrong because I actually haven't been here at night). They do on the other side have shuffleboard which is pretty cool, and quiz night every other tuesday. Basically the perfect "Soviet dive bar" if you are into that kind of thing.

So I walked inside (yes, admittedly breaking the no-smoking law) and approached the woman tending bar and asked her how I could get a beer. At this point we were both standing about three feet from the open door to the patio. Call me crazy, but I think she should have said, "Please step outside with the cigar, tell me what you want, and I'll hand it to you." Instead she sternly commanded me to leave immediately. Quite rudely. I was going to return later to hear a band but did not.

I had more beer spilled on me in 20 minutes here than in the last two months hanging at other places. I am glad I left Hugo Boss at home. The bouncers and security are hard at work - I saw guys getting walked or dragged out every twenty minutes. In fact, this is the first bar I saw anyone escorted out from in the last two months.
