Today our sweet, sassy, loyal "FAITH" who made our home and lives richer for nearly14 years, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge to join her brother, "SULLY". D. Lauren was so much more than a licensed Vet. She innately understood what our family members (the 2 legged as well as 4) had been going thru over the last few months. I am beyond grateful for Heron's Crossing and Doctor James. On Monday my sweet kitty Bella Bean after 20 years of snuggles and love took a turn for the worse and we had to say goodbye. We cannot express how wonderful Heron's Crossing has been during such a difficult time for our family. We are so grateful that we had Dr. Lauren to guide us through this process. She was patient, sincere and extremely professional. Our sweet boy has always been anxious so we wanted to make sure he was as calm as he could be before we let him pass. Dr. Lauren walked us through the process days in advance. She stayed in touch with us via cell phone and checked in on us on the morning we put him down. We were able to spend our final moments with Lincoln in our backyard, letting him play and enjoy sunshine until it was time. Dr. Lauren booked us a 2-hour window so that we wouldn't be rushed and allowed us the time we needed to ensure Lincoln wouldn't be scared. She was so gentle even when we loaded him in the car. She also checked in on us a couple of days later to see how our family was coping. If and when we have to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our other dog, we will call Dr. Lauren again. Although being in need of the services of Dr. Cassady/Heron's Crossing is not something I had been looking forward to, she made a tough situation as easy and comfortable as it could be. Scheduling was easy and the staff member who communicated with me was exceptionally kind and compassionate. Dr. Cassady arrived at the scheduled time and was warm, kind and caring. She explained everything she would be doing and allowed our other dog to be present. Our dog was never stressed, anxious or fearful. He ate treats until he fell asleep from the sedative and then peacefully passed. She made a painful day a little less painful and for that, there is not enough gratitude in the world. 10/10 recommended to anyone. read more
