No bueno…read more THE GOOD: After reading all of the glowing reviews on Google and Yelp, I was confident that I picked the right place and excited to get rid of an ugly stump in front of my house. I called the office, left my information, and got a return call within an hour to make arrangements - great communication! I was given the name and number of the guy who was supposed to show up at my house between 10 and 2 the following Saturday. I asked what prep needed to be done and was given instructions to help the stump removal run smoothly (remove and/or protect surrounding plants). That's where the good part of this review ends. THE BAD: Got up early on Saturday, went to the bank to get cash to pay the guy. "Temporarily" dug up some surrounding shrubs. Waited. At 1:15 when I had heard nothing, I texted the individual who I made arrangements with AND the individual who was supposed to come to do the work. No response. THE UGLY: $50 worth of shrubs are languishing in buckets, and I still have an ugly stump in need of removal. VERY frustrating.

We had a huge tree in the backyard that was old and weak.  The ants had gotten to it as well and it…read morewas in danger of falling and doing damage.  A crew of four men from J & T Texas Tree Service showed up to tackle this job.  This was a huge tree with large limbs over the house, a storage shed and other plants.  They scaled the tree, cut the limbs and lowered them without causing damage to anything else.  They removed a portion of the fence so they could carry the cut branches and logs to their trailer and replaced the fence when complete.  It was hard work which took all day and they did a fantastic job.  The yard was clean when they were finished.  One of the fellas even helped the wife string a rope over a tall branch so she could hang her bird feeder.  We negotiated a fair price and we highly recommend this crew to take on your job, big or small.  Call these guys first and then just be done!

I gave OCS a pretty large job last summer involving (1) the removal of a lot of small, unwanted…read moretrees from my back yard, as well as (2) trimming a few main oaks and (3) cleaning dead branches from the rest of the trees. I was quoted and paid about $2000 for the work, which was performed over two days. Item (1) above was performed as requested, but three beautiful shade trees on my fence line were also removed. The sun sets right behind those trees, which provided shade while I grilled in my back yard. Now I have to deal with the setting sun during the summer and three ugly 10" stumps on the ground. I feel like this mistake was a result of miscommunication between them as the trees did not bear any resemblance to the trees I wanted removed. The team did not own up to this or offer any remedy. I was out of town when they started, which they told me was fine, and they did not check with me before cutting these down. Item (2) was performed as requested, and the oaks look good. By the time item (3) was reached, I felt that the two-man team was exhausted from the prior work and in a hurry to leave, but there was still a lot of unfinished work. The trees were barely cleaned and the sun was setting. Cleaning up the ground and leaving was their main priority. I spent a lot of time thinking about whether or not to leave a review (8 months now). I'm not angry any more, but my back yard experience is seriously damaged and will continue to be until I spend a lot of time and money fixing it. I want others to learn from my experience and utilize OCS differently than I did. OCS is friendly and does good work, but I think that the two of them took too big of a job to do quality work on in two days. I originally thought to break the job up into phases (to control my own costs). I should have, as I could have had issues resolved before giving them more work. I also could have supervised better, preventing the loss of my nice shade trees. They are too small of a team to be working consecutive 12 hour days as they were obviously in a hurry to leave by the end. I would not hesitate to have them trim my oaks again, but larger jobs would definitely need to be broken up and supervised.

I'll add a screenshot of the appointment they missed to clear up any doubt. Then the rep showed up. Sat in his car for a couple hours, didn't inspect the roof, gave roof estimates higher than comparable competitor and then estimated 10k for the gutters on my 2,700 sq home. We questioned that and he lowered it to 7.2k. We have a gutter estimate for less than half that from another company. The kicker - the rep called and asked me to change this review after his departure. I told him I'd update it, so here we are.

I requested quote and never heard back, but they came and did the cut/cap. No invoice was sent, no further contact. 4 months later, pool was completed and I contacted to have sprinklers reconnected and adjusted. The 'secretary' made the appointment for the service. When I called the day prior to ask again about a quote, I was told someone would be there to take a look the next day. I was told the appointment was for the work to be done. She then gave a rambling of numbers stating work was by the hour, and by person doing the work. I asked for a specific quote, again. The crew arrived a few days later, still no quote but was told to not be concerned, they would take care of me. The crew spent the day working, digging up pipes, heads, rocks, and placed current heads. They left at 5pm. I called the next day as no one showed back up to finish. I was told they had completed the job. There were pipes, trash, etc all over the yard. I complained and they sent someone to clean up the following day, which amounted to them picking the trash up and tossing it on the vacant lot next door. :( Then, I get an email with an invoice attached with total amount due....an extremely high amount, that is, considering the hourly quotes I was randomly told over the phone. No information on the invoice, just one bottom line number. I called to request an itemized bill, and was met with shock! It took about two weeks, and I finally got an itemized bill, that looked like the work of a kindergartner putting a puzzle together. The funny part is, the totals on the original invoice, $xxxx.84 and the itemized was $xxxx.05 were different! Hmmm. Strongly do not recommend. There are too many other options in SA and surrounding are to deal with dishonesty and avoidance. Do not use these folks!

I had a pool installed last year and at the recommendation of my builder, I hired this company to disconnect and cap my system where digging would take place. The guy that came out said when we're ready to reconnect, all he had to do was connect a couple wires and energize the rest of the motors that were still connected. I called Texas Allied (Sisco) back out to make the reconnection and Rick Neitzel, their VP of Sale and Marketing quoted me nearly $3500. He sent the technician back out when I told him what I had been told. The technician came out and said he would have the office get me on the schedule. 3 weeks later when I called about status, the lady that answered the phone told me that the technician can't overrule the VP of the company. Talk about deceptive business practices. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and possibly the State Attorney General as well.
