Chocolatería San Ginés is famous for its churros, so of course we had to make a stop here while in Madrid!
The line to dine in was super long, so we opted for takeout instead. We ended up eating while standing by the sign, which wasn't exactly the most comfortable setup, but we were there for the churros and chocolate anyway.
We ordered the regular churros and the other, thicker ones (the porras). I preferred the original churros, but both came with that really good chocolate. Honestly, the chocolate alone made the visit worth it.
Yes, it's a touristy spot, and the wait to sit down can be long, but now I understand why it's on so many Madrid must-visit lists. If you're visiting Madrid, I'd say it's worth stopping by for the classic churros con chocolate. Just do takeout if you don't want to wait forever for a table!
