That being said, it's been a really long time since I contacted them, and since I was just calling the phone number on the sticker they left in my/mom's garage,, I was a little worried they might not even be in business anymore. Fortunately, there was a message identifying them, and I left a message. I also texted the other number, as suggested on the recording. I heard back from Dominic one hour later, asking me to send photos of the inside of my garage door, top to bottom, and that he wanted to see if my springs were ok so I took close-ups of those. And that is EXACTLY what it turned out to be-a broken spring. He said he could have a technician there the next morning between 8-10am to measure (there was a fee, which was fine with me). He explained that the springs were replaced in pairs, because when one breaks, the other also will soon after. He quoted me what I thought was a fair price range (I was thankful on the day of installation that I was charged on the low end). The next morning , it was Dominic who was the technician, and I was pleased that he came early, around 8:30am to measure which was really fast. He also handled the installation two days later. He had given me a window of 9-10am, and arrived at 9:30. He was done in about 30 minutes. The entire time I dealt with Dominic, he was super professional, friendly, knowledgeable, organized and prompt. Based on this experience and my family's history of consistently superior service from this company, I strongly recommend Empire Garage Door and Gate.
