I've been to this library a couple of times and really liked it. I was searching for old newspaper…read morearticles and found their periodical section very orderly, and easily found what I was looking for. Like most libraries, it's quiet here, but the nice thing, is the traffic is also fairly light, so there isn't the same in-out commotion of larger branches, so I guess you could say it's quieter than many libraries. They also have a nice selection of audio and video here. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I also liked this branch because it was clean, new and very bright with comfy, big chairs. This is a great way to pass a few hours on a free afternoon, just you and words on a page. Sounds decadent to me!

I was quite happy to visit this location recently for an event I was helping to host. The staff are very helpful and the building itself is of some really neat new construction. If I lived in the area, I would certainly visit again!

A huge improvement over the old branch and then the temporary branch that we had for quite a long…read moretime. The larger space, super tall ceilings and windows everywhere make for a light and airy environment. The first time I visited the staff greeted me and my husband and explained the new branch to us. The second time we were in they were about to launch into the same thing, but then recognized us and said "Oh you guys are already old pros." That was pretty cute and it's nice to be remembered. Whereas the staff at the temporary branch seemed to be rotating, the people here seem to be permanent. There are several computers on both levels. I like the area upstairs with a couple of low tables and chairs beside the window. Perfect for reading or doing some work on your laptop. The selection isn't the same as Milner or one of the bigger branches, but some of the sections are worth browsing through. I always reserve my books online and just pick them up at the branch, but I was recently able to just pick it up right off the shelf here. A very welcome addition to the neighbourhood!

As a father I use the large kids play area that is on the main floor and somewhat segregated from…read morethe main library. There are computers and iPad and other games and activities that cater to different age groups. The two family bathrooms in this area are good because the main bathrooms can have some unsavoury characters in there sometimes. The plaza outside of kids area windows has been under construction resurfacing the square for a long time. It's directly south of the library and hopefully it will be available soon. There is a Second Cup coffee shop in entrance way lobby which is a nice option but there are other cafes downtown that have better coffee and food offerings in my opinion. The interactive screen in front lobby is always a hit for my kids. And there is a smaller screen that is behind the large main display. The new LRT line goes directly in front of the library which should be good for access. There are often houseless people in the area and often in front of the library entrance or inside the library. If you're bringing children, be vigilant and always aware of your surroundings especially outside of the library. Both my children got library memberships before they turned one and the EPL gives a free children's book upon sign up. You can look through their selection and choose the book.

I visited the 24 hour drop slot - and it hasn't moved. Sadly, the construction crews had blocked the accessible ramp - so there were only stairs to the ramp... although after hours, I'm not sure how many other folks would be visiting to return books. The photos look amazing, and all the amenities from "THE WALL" - an interactive GIANT touch screen, to the Makerspace, to Gamerspace, Outreach services to the PÎYÊSÎW WÂSKÂHIKAN (Thunderbird House) is their first dedicated Indigenous space that is built for ceremony and gatherings. Coming soon are the EPL Kitchen, Muttart Theatre and Second Cup Coffee Co. (thank goodness). I can't wait to see it all myself, but for now, I'll look through the glass and dream about lounging indoors again.

Both of those are right near the front so it's easy to get in and out when you're in a hurry. We also check out the occasionally video game; getting games from the library is a great way to try them out if you're not sure they're worth purchasing. Customer service here has always been excellent whenever I've needed help and overall the branch feels cozy and calm. There are plenty of computers and lots of tables for people to spread out and read. Woodcroft isn't the newest or the fanciest EPL branch but it still has everything you need in a community public library.

When did it become O.K. to walk around and talk loudly on your cell phone? Why do customers and staff carry on loud coversations with utter disregard for the patrons trying to read? I just couldn't believe I was in a library. Aside from that, they did not have any of the books on my list. They were not checked out, they simply did not exist. The location is great, but I won't go back. My local EPL is better.

From outside it's a quirky building and inside it's really well laid out with computers, printers, makers space, of course books and a welcoming reception area. I nipped in to do some printing but can't wait to come back and spend some time here. The parking lot has plug ins which I thought was a nice touch. There is also plenty of street parking too.

The puzzle may be temporary ~ we've worked on two different puzzles in the past month. The teen area upstairs is cool. You can check out comics, manga and more !! Cozy up with your tea and a magazine while the sun kisses your nose ~ inside or on their second story enclosed patio. I highly anticipated the opening of this library. The first year after its opening, I felt the interior lacked warmth. Five years later this gem established loyal visitors, those visitors and the new, bring a pulse ~ a warmth. This is one of several Edmonton library's i highly recommend. The librarians are fun & informative ~ and patient with our never ending requests to bring in BOOKS ! Check them out !!

This is a review for the new location of the Leduc Public Library, which is attached to the north…read moreside of the Civic Center, right next to where the original library was. Unfortunately, I tried calling the library to get a physical address of the new library location but the lady I spoke to didn't have one. If you turn to park at the Alexandra Arena though the new library is in the same parking lot. It's a huge building and pretty hard to miss. Part of me was sad when I found out the old library was closing, because that's where I spent a lot of time as a kid (yes, I am a book nerd), but I've been to the new library a few times now and it is awesome. The building is much bigger than the original (18,000 square feet according to an article in the paper) and it is something Leduc really needs. It has a more modern design than the old library with glass windows on the front and the west side. It makes the library look brighter and more open. There are plenty of computers around for looking up books, and just like before the library is hooked up to the TRAC system so you can put a hold on any available library item in the province. The library has lots of seating including desks with power outlets and a long counter with high bar style chairs along the west side of the building, which overlooks the Civic Centre reservoir (and currently the construction area for the splash park). At the back wall is a gas fireplace with a seating arrangement of several comfortable armchairs and side tables. The fireplace wasn't going when I went, likely because it was pretty nice outside, but when it was colder it was going. There are also two rows of computer work desks with internet near the front. The back is also where the washrooms are. The old library washrooms were a one single bathroom (one male, one female) and you needed a key from the librarian to unlock the door. These washrooms don't require a key. It's just like a regular bathroom with stalls. I don't know about the men's washroom, but the women's washroom had 5 toilets and three sinks. The washroom also uses eco-friendly flush toilets, and there's a small step for little kids to use the sink. The library also has two self-checkout counter, as well as a main staffed checkout/information desk at the front. The self-checkout is easy to use. You scan your barcode and enter your pin. Then you scan your items and you can choose whether or not to get a receipt. You can also renew books and check your account at the self-checkouts. One thing the new location doesn't have (yet) is wording on the sides of the shelves to let you know what section you're in (fiction, nonfiction, etc). Of course on the sides of the books, and on the front of the multimedia items there is still the Dewey Decimal information. From what I could tell the kids and young adult stuff is on far left side, then there's the nonfiction section, then to the right of that is fiction, and finally close the right wall are multimedia and reference section. Holds to pick up are near the front of the library, as are large print and nonEnglish books. I'm sure the library will put the sections on the sides of the shelves eventually. Some of the shelves are barer than before, but I think that's just because there's so much more space than at the old location. As more items come in the shelves will seem less bare. The library staff has been really helpful and friendly since I've come to the new library. They've always said hi or asked if I need help finding something or using the self-checkout. While there's been quite a few people in the library when I've gone I haven't found it any noisier or busier than before. Actually because the space is so big it seems quieter. The library still offers different programs for kids and meetings for different events, but I didn't use or see any of the private meeting areas so I can't comment on that Important things to know. - You need a pin to use the self-checkout. You can ask for help if you don't remember your pin or need to set one up. - There are return slots inside the library and on the outside of the building at the front. There isn't a drive-thru return slot anymore. - There are steps to get up to the library as well as a ramp for those with mobility issues. - Library fines, as far as I know, still have to be paid in cash. No debit or credit. - The library has free WiFi, and there are computers with Internet. The computers with internet are only available until 30 minutes before closing. - As of this review date, library cards are still free to residents of Leduc. - You can no longer access the library through the Civic Centre. - The parking lot is the same one at the Alex Arena, and when there's events at the Alex hockey games, etc. it could get a bit busy.

All I have to say is that I am so glad that I have re-discovered the library! I haven't been to a…read morelibrary in about 15 years, and I am so glad to live in a community with such a beautiful location. This library is huge! I did find the shelves a little bare when I first walked through, but no worries! You can just request a book and they will bring it in for you. I found that there are a lot of places to sit, whether it's at a table or on the couches. My favorite spot is by the fireplace, but I'm not the only one who likes it there. The only down side is that I found it a little loud for a library, especially later in the afternoon once the kids were out of school. A library, in my opinion, should not be an after school daycare with kids running around and yelling. I found it hard to concentrate and there were students trying to study that found it distracting and ended up just leaving. Other then that I absolutely love it here and look forward to many visits in the future.

I love this little library in Mill Woods! It was very close to my old office and when we got an…read moreelectric vehicle I could go charge it there. They have 3 stalls for EV's but only one had been working. Then all the cords got cut and they were all down for a bit. Cords were replaced and I was able to charge again a few weeks ago. The library may be small but it has a good collection and study spaces and rooms you can book. Lots of parking around as it is close to the mall.
