My youngest started school, and a week later my 4th grader asked if she could go to AHSJ as well. A little background on D'Layne (4th grade when she started AHSJ), she had a heart condition. She had always gone to public school, but was falling in the cracks and falling behind. D'layne excelled at AHSJ in ways that I cannot explain. She loved math, science and history, but always struggled in spelling and reading. After her 4th grade year, she was excelling in ways that made me proud to watch her grow. It was the same with 5th grade, but towards the end of 5th grade her health started to change. The summer between her 5th and 6th grade years, D'layne had a major stroke. She spent the summer relearning to read, write, and to find her words. We also knew at that time that her heart was failing her, and she would have to be placed on the transplant list immediately. She spent the summer back and forth getting testing done and was placed on the transplant list on August 27th, 2018. 6 days after starting her 6th grade year... The day we got the call that D'Layne was getting her new heart, she was at school. That was the best place for her to be, the administration gave her hugs and kisses, the school stopped and prayed for my daughter. This is a family, not just a school. 6 days after her transplant, I had to make a call to her school, that she was not going to make it. Where her heart was perfect, her body had been shutting down. Our family, AHSJ, cried with us, cherished us, and supported us. It has not stopped. My angel was granted her Angel wings on September 26, 2018. On May 2, 2019 (7 months later) they performed the most amazing tribute to her at their dance performance and included my sweet 7 year old to honor her sister. So, all day Kindergarten brought us to AHSJ, but the family bond of every student, teacher, administrator is the reason we stay!!

We would rather drive to Eagle Mountain from Provo and back twice a day knowing that our kids would be cared for and loved love we love them. We talked to one of my child's teachers who worked at the center before A to Z took over and said that hands down the center is better for the kids and teachers after A to Z took over. We were able to change locations to a much more convenient location when the was an opening and it's like we didn't even move. The structure and routine is the same at each location. My kids didn't skip a beat and the was no worry with the transition. The are cameras, which help with accountability and we get reports throughout the day so we know exactly what our kids are doing. If you're looking for a center for your kids, then stop right here. If there's a wait list, which the probably is, then get on it and stay on it. A to Z is worth the wait.

We were extremely intentional when choosing a memory care facility for our loved one--a husband,…read morefather, grandfather, brother, and friend. Like most families navigating dementia, our top priority was stability and the best care possible. We made it very clear during the admission process that he often urinates on the floor. According to our research, this is a common reality in dementia care. We asked directly what circumstances could lead to discharge, and we understood that aggression would be the primary concern. Our dad has never shown aggression toward staff or residents and is, in our experience, well-liked by those who interact with him. During his stay, he was involved in two separate incidents where another resident struck him. Even in those situations, he did not respond with aggression. Despite this, within a short period of time, we were given a 30-day discharge notice related to the same behaviors we disclosed upfront and believed would be manageable. We also have serious concerns about the level of care and safety during his stay. Our dad experienced two falls requiring ER visits and facial stitches--despite no prior history of falls before admission. The most serious incident, as it was described to us, occurred after he wet the bed overnight. We were told he was assisted into the bathroom and left unattended while staff retrieved supplies, and was later found on the shower floor, bloody with significant injuries requiring emergency medical care. Based on what we were told, leaving a cognitively impaired resident unattended in that setting raises significant safety concerns. We attempted to work collaboratively with administration to address his incontinence, only to be told that this behavior had only been seen once or twice in the past six years, which was surprising to us given our understanding of dementia-related symptoms. To have a facility accept a resident with full knowledge of their needs, indicate those needs could be managed, and then later discharge him for those same issues was deeply disappointing. The impact is not just logistical--it is personal. Uprooting someone with dementia can lead to confusion, regression, and emotional distress that is difficult to reverse. Families depend on honesty, experience, and consistency when placing a loved one in memory care. That was not our experience.

I love Kindell in Activities. She is one of the kindest and caring People I know. She Plans the best outings, crafts and other activities. She's as sweet as her southern drawl. Ashlyn is also another great employee there. She is a very compassionate individual. All of the kitchen staff are wonderful, helpful and caring. Nurse Alissa is another one of the great employees there. There's also Heidi, Lola, Alecia, Parker, Macee. Isabelle, Amber, Shaylee, Micah, Ashland, Kandace and many more who are all an asset to Ashford along with the rest Of the staff. They love the residents. I can't forget Erin at the front desk. She always offers a warm greeting and lots of love.

After that, we were billed over $80 simply to have printed evaluation results explained to us. Ongoing sessions were billed at $107 per 30-minute session per child. However, sessions frequently began 5-10 minutes late while still ending on time. Over multiple visits, that lost time adds up -- especially when you are paying over $200 per hour across two children. Because we have twins scheduled at the same time, we were required to spend the first 15 minutes with each child individually. Once the parent stepped out, the remaining time was unproductive due to distress. The only alternative offered was scheduling separate appointments on different days, which would require 4+ weekly visits -- not realistic for most families with twins. In total, we spent $1,362 for roughly four hours of combined evaluation and treatment. The guidance we received was minimal and not meaningfully individualized. We left feeling that the structure of the appointments prioritized billing efficiency over therapeutic effectiveness. Our family has participated in structured, outcome-focused therapy programs for nearly a decade, so we understand the importance of consistency, parent involvement, and realistic expectations. We are not unfamiliar with the process. Our concern was not about difficulty or slow progress -- it was about transparency in billing, reduced session time, and a rigid scheduling model that did not align with what was communicated or what is workable for families with twins. Raising twins is already incredibly demanding. We came here looking for structured, actionable support and instead felt rushed, overcharged, and unheard. Families deserve clear transparency in billing, full use of scheduled time, and treatment models that actually work for real-life parenting situations.

Parents of neurodivergent kids should read this before enrolling. We are leaving Breaking Barriers Therapy Services despite genuinely positive clinical relationships. That alone should tell you how terrible our experience with the company has been. Let me be absolutely clear: the clinicians were wonderful. The company itself is reckless, incompetent, and emotionally unsafe for neurodivergent children. Over the past year, we experienced constant scheduling failures, last-minute provider cancellations, and shockingly poor, cold communication. On multiple occasions, we arrived for scheduled sessions with our neurodivergent child and waited up to 20 minutes, only to be told that "communication fell through the cracks" and no technician was available. I had to drag my screaming, kicking child, who didn't understand why he couldn't go play with his friends, back to the car with two other children in tow. These are not minor inconveniences. For a child with ASD, PDA, and anxiety, unpredictability and disrupted transitions cause real distress. Breaking Barriers treats these disruptions as clerical problems. In reality, they were preventable clinical harm that leadership repeatedly minimized. One incident alone should disqualify this place from working with vulnerable kids. During a 12-4 session, we were texted at 3:15 asking if we were coming to pick our child up. When we said no, because the session ended at 4:00, we were told a "clerical error" had occurred. What was not disclosed at first was that staff had already packed up our child, taken him downstairs to wait for us for 15 minutes, then reversed course and told him to go back upstairs and resume therapy. That unnecessary transition reversal sent him into a full dysregulated fit. Any competent ABA provider understands how destabilizing false transitions are for autistic children. The fact that this happened, and was later dismissed as a clerical issue, speaks volumes. And then there is the billing. When our child was sick and we followed illness guidance, we were charged a no-show fee that leadership later reframed as a "waiver" rather than acknowledging error. When the company canceled a session last minute due to staff illness, we were charged a $50 cancellation fee for overlapping OT services we reasonably assumed were canceled as well. The only alternative offered was impossible to attend due to work and childcare constraints created by their own cancellation. When we contested the fee, leadership insisted ABA and OT are separate divisions. When we asked who we should contact to cancel OT in the future, we were given the same phone number we had been texting all along, directly contradicting their own explanation. We escalated calmly. We documented everything. We acted in good faith. Based on our direct interactions with Josh and Jenn Taylor, executive leadership consistently prioritized policy defense and liability mitigation over the emotional safety of our child and the lived impact on our family. That is our honest conclusion after exhausting every internal avenue. If you are a parent of a neurodivergent child who needs predictability, transparency, and basic human judgment, understand this clearly: this organization will make your life harder, not easier. Your child's nervous system will be treated as collateral damage of "clerical errors" and rigid policy enforcement. We are leaving not because of the therapists, but in spite of them. We strongly urge other families to think very carefully before trusting this organization with their child.

The education philosophy is also a huge plus for me as they focus on emotional, cognitive and social development using a hands-on approach. From stuff like: "If I had a magic pill I can take to get it all done" or the principal saying "we do what we can". Those are no excuses as to why I wasn't being informed of my child's progress. It was very uncomfortable for me as a parent having to hear such thing from them. Now their cafeteria is a hot mess . I was always there every morning with my kids & I can tell you that there isn't always staff watching the kids other than the cafeteria ladies. There are kids running , throwing balls etc. I was even shoved by a few kids while in there. The Cafeteria ladies are very sweet , but I think the school makes their job harder by them having to be the ones to remind the kids that it's time to go to class, line up or simply having to discipline kids themselves. Their carpool lane is a NIGHTMARE , man that still needs a lot work. It scares me that one day a child will get hit by a car. Save yourself the trouble!

The kids are not allowed to be children! You will have to pay for everything and don't get a decent education. The recesses are too short and and the kids don't even get one on Wednesday this year. Your child will have to memorize endless prayers in every class (PE, music and art). Homework is over the top here with at least 1.5 hours. My kids were miserable here! So happy we left! A lot of good families have left over the last few years as the school tolerates horrible children to stay (they may go to the office but never removed from the school, tuition is too important to the school). Also Skaggs school is hiding abuse cases, tolerating unacceptable behavior from teachers, the catholic school system in Utah is in trouble and it's apparent. Don't waste your money there are better places (public, private charter options) where your children will be much happier!

Cirque Lodge advertises itself as a dual diagnosis treatment facility. Our family member was…read moreadmitted with a written prior diagnosis for a serious mental health disorder and was not seen by a psychiatrist for the first 50 days of his stay. We were told that the medical staff who are PRNs and therapists, not psychiatrists, did not "see signs" of moodiness and the family member was not reporting symptoms. It was only when the family contacted DHHS was the patient seen by a psychiatrist and prescribed his needed medication. Ironically, one of the reasons our family member developed substance abuse issues is because he had gone off his medication and was self medicating with drugs. So, if mental health issues are a concern, this is not the right place. Additionally, we had almost no support from his therapist. We went 3 weeks without return phone calls and contact with our family was limited to a specific date and time with zero flexibility. It felt like the family involvement was limited to family week which they heavily promote instead of 1:1 check-ins. For $800 per day it felt like a 12 step program in a nice facility. My advice is if you need to send your family member to Cirque Lodge, get the expectations in writing. Their website is purposely vague and for $800 per day it should not be unreasonable to expect weekly calls for updates and the patient to be seen by a medical professional if they have a pre-existing condition. I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be for families who suspect a mental health issue. I would also interview the therapist who will be working with your family member. Ours was awful. We also contacted Cirque Lodge with a formal complaint and request for refund for missed time with the right treatment plan. They declined our request. For our family, it's less about the money and it is more about the shocking lack of mental health awareness. As I asked one of the Cirque leaders "If a patient was admitted with a diagnosis of diabetes would you withhold their insulin until they had a blood sugar crash?" I don't know how it's any different. Fortunately, we have our family member in a better facility now and he is getting the treatment he needs. We are redoing the first 90 days which comes at great expense in both time and money. If you have similar circumstances, I hope our story helps you.
