While I was still going to Evolution, I received a bill for a copay that I had already paid. I cleared that up by providing my receipt, which should have been the end of it. A couple of months later, however, I received another bill for the same service date. Again, I reminded them that I had already paid the copay. They told me they had confirmed my previous payment and that I did not owe anything, so I thought the issue was resolved. Nine months later, I received another bill. When I explained that I had already dealt with this issue and had paid that copay, they sent me a bill for a different service date. I checked my receipts and confirmed that I had made that payment as well. Evolution then did not respond to confirm that I owed nothing. Two weeks later, I emailed again asking for confirmation. They eventually responded that my account was "now paid in full." The word "now" is worth noting because my account had already been paid in full for many months. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the repeated billing errors. I liked my physical therapist, and everyone I met at the location was friendly. I would be happy to work with all of them again. I think the physical therapy work we did was helpful. I had even considered going back to Evolution for another round of physical therapy, but the billing issues made me hesitant to do so. All of my concerns are with the billing process. I can't say whether these problems were caused by poor recordkeeping, a lack of communication, or something else, but the repeated requests for payment of copays I had already paid were frustrating and unnecessarily time-consuming. If you do go to Evolution for physical therapy, I strongly recommend keeping all of your receipts and payment records. Be prepared to repeatedly show your receipts if you receive a bill for a copay you've already paid. And if you're reading this because you're looking for a physical therapist: I hope you make a fast and full recovery.

This resulted in my having to wear a boot for six weeks for a fractured toe, which, at the time, had a heel on it. This threw out my pelvis causing the sacroiliac joint dysfunction and pain. Marisa's careful treatment, including manipulations, stretching and strengthening exercises, and the pilotes reformer has resulted in a significant reduction of pain that I thought I would just have to live with, as well as an overall sense of increasing strength and well-being. Marisa's high intelligence, careful listening, kindness and sensitivity to one's state of mind as well as one's body, always leaves me feeling hopeful and in a great mood! I can't recommend Marisa enough!

Eventually, I was in chronic pain, with hip and leg pain daily just walking down the block. I have been in and out of physical therapy for the last 4-5 years feeling hopeless, considering a pretty aggressive surgery, until I found Dr. Kyle at Elevate. He honestly gave me my life back. Having been to a dozen different PTs, I can say he is truly exceptional. Rather than following textbook protocols, he really listens, assesses and tailors his program to my very specific and nuanced case. Dr. Kyle's knowledge is extensive. He really cares and uses his comprehension of anatomy, biomechanics, and kinesthesiology to truly understand the issue and goes above and beyond to treat each patient individually. I've seen Dr. Adam as well when Kyle is not available and he is equally knowledgeable and incredible.  I was somewhat hesitant when I found out Elevate doesn't take insurance (they'll submit the claim to your insurance and you can get some reimbursement), but I have to say sticking with them has changed my life and what I've gotten out of this is priceless.  The staff is great, Corey at the front desk is so friendly and helpful. Unlike other practices, at Elevate the PT spends the entire hour with you (no PT aide) which allows them to focus on each patient - it's been so worth it to me and I am incredibly grateful to this practice.

During the appointment, the physical therapist asked about my medical history, but her demeanor, facial expressions, and comments made it feel like she had already decided she was not going to treat me. And, I was right, she refused. I had to specifically ask for more of an assessment and a full evaluation; however, she would only do a partial eval in the end. The therapist told me I was fine, that I had probably pulled a muscle, that I should go back to my doctor, and that I did not need physical therapy. I left feeling dismissed and unheard. The appointment also ended unprofessionally. The therapist walked out and moved on to her next patient without clearly ending the session. At the front desk, the staff member was on what appeared to be a personal call and responded rudely when I tried to check out. Two weeks later, I received a second opinion and a thorough evaluation at another physical therapy center, where the therapist was surprised by how my concerns had been handled. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Rehab Specialists, especially for younger women seeking women's health-related care or a careful, thorough evaluation.

The assessment was for my 15 1/2-year-old son, who runs long distance for his high school cross country and track & field team (3-mile, 1600m, and 3200m). Since he is still actively growing and had been experiencing some pain under both knees, we wanted to evaluate his form, strength, and any areas needing improvement. Our goal was to help him stay injury-free, improve efficiency, and avoid wasting energy as he continues developing as a runner. From the online intake form to the follow-up communication by email and phone, the entire process was professional, efficient, and seamless. The location is a little tucked away in a quiet office area, but there are 5-6 parking spots and we've always found a space available (a huge plus in LA). The spots are a bit tight, but parking alone is a win. The facility itself is incredible: bright, open, modern, and aesthetically designed, with high ceilings and a large garage door that opens for fresh air (a big contrast to some clinics that can feel stuffy). It's equipped with all the latest technology and everything you'd expect from a top-tier sports performance facility. Athletic Lab PT also has private meeting rooms, two well-stocked restrooms with thoughtful essentials like hair ties and deodorant, a shower for those needing to head to work after a session, a mini fridge stocked with hydration and snacks, and a comfortable front seating area for parents waiting during appointments...as I have to sit and wait for my son when he has a session. Dr. Alley Gray performed my son's running assessment, and she was fantastic. She measured his mobility and flexibility, conducted a detailed treadmill gait analysis with photos taken from every angle, and tested his strength in multiple ways. Afterward, we received a thorough report outlining her findings, along with clear recommendations on how to address the issues and an estimated treatment plan. The overall goal was to optimize my son's running mechanics, power, and efficiency so he can stay healthy and continue pursuing his goal of running in college. Dr. Alley Gray is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and understanding of my son's needs. He genuinely enjoys working with her, which says a lot. We've been extremely happy with our experience at Athletic Lab PT and highly recommend them to any serious athlete looking to improve performance and prevent injuries.
