We highly recommend MOTIF for your special design-build projects. They are an amazing team and our experience with them was absolutely top-notch. They helped us re-invent our built-in-the-late-80's home and create a place that is beautiful, functional, and feels like "us". On the design side, they had both a high-style approach to design AND an ability to listen to and incorporate our ideas and preferences. It was a delight to work with them. There was also excellent communication between the design side and the build side, which made a world of difference to us as the homeowners. Once the build phase began, there were workers at our house every day by 8 a.m. (never seen anything like it!). The build team members were exceptionally respectful of our space, accommodating of our needs, and kept us fully in-the-loop as things unfolded (and were great with our dog!). Listen. Home renovations are painful and expensive. But if you want it done really well, in a very reasonable amount of time, go with MOTIF.

Bottom Line: Eric and the Zenith Painting team are fantastic. Book them immediately for your…read morepainting needs. Painting the entire interior of a 110 year old home can be complicated and overwhelming. But with Zenith painting, and particularly Eric, it was a painless and flawless process. From the estimate, to initial walk through with their lead, through high communication daily on progress, to the last walk through, it was clear that Eric is a dedicated painting professional. He and his lead Luis asked all the right questions (even for things I didn't think of), made recommendations that were about improving the project, as opposed to his bottom line, and made sure we were always on the same page. He also triple checked our guidance, so there were never any surprises. During the job, the communication was stellar - timely and detailed. I always knew what was going on and what to expect. When we and the team uncovered things during the job (which is bound to happen) I had complete transparency, and an offer to help problem-solve the situation. The team was on time, incredibly efficient, and so respectful of our home (and neighbors). They took extra care with shoes on some new flooring, wore masks during COVID, and took extremely great care with daily cleanup. Plus (and this is just a bonus), everyone was incredibly kind and friendly. Most importantly the team's attention to detail, quality of work, and thoroughness showed in our exceptionally repainted home. We are absolutely delighted by their work, will use them again for future projects, and would recommend them for yours - large or small. Thanks Eric and Team!

This is the company you want! Alex and Laura are wonderful from start to finish. We engaged them to…read morerefinish our old red oak floors, which had a very dinged-up old finish and areas of water damage, and an extremely orange color that we wanted to get away from. Laura brought many red-oak samples with different stain colors for us to keep in-house for a few days to watch with different lighting until we knew exactly which stain we wanted to go with. (We chose Provincial to give us a pretty mid-brown with a kiss of warmth from the oak coming through.) Alex was always on time, kind, attentive, and hard-working. They were willing to split our job into two phases for us, so that we could move all our furniture from one side of the house to the other for the work to be done. The finished floors are BEAUTIFUL. The color change was exactly what we were looking for, all the water damage is gone, gaps are filled and completely camouflaged with the stain. Our floors feel silky under bare feet (we went with the satin sheen). Most importantly, I had expressed concerns ahead of time about the stain finish on the oak tambour island in the kitchen, which meets the floor without intervening trim, getting messed up during the floor refinishing. Alex worked that area completely by hand, and the result was pristine - the floor around that was refinished perfectly, right up to it, but the tambour staining was not in the least marred. We 100% recommend this small family company, and will return to them in a heartbeat for further services.

Got 5 estimates to do work on floors, one was very high, one extremely low, three in the middle…read morethat included Exquisite Hardwood. Selected and contracted Exquisite Hardwood to refinish main floor that included front room, dinning, kitchen and stairs. Work was completed in a timely manor, can not say anything bad about quality of work is was as expected (love the color and finish on floors!). We did feel personal skills of owner and especially employee were lacking and encountered some conflict during the process. Communication could have been better on a number of issues maybe I iwas not clear about some items. One being we asked to have the top stair match the rest of stairs but it ended up matching the upstairs floor and was not finished in hi-gloss like the rest of up stairs floor - this might have helped- (see attached pictures of stairs). Attached are pictures of floor and stairs. I would not recommend Exquisite Hardwood based on our experience with them.
