This is in reference to Agent Lois Slaughter: Ms. Slaughter…read morerepresented the buyer of our condo in Bronxville, NY. She failed to notify the buyer was her relative, which is a NYS requirement. Our agent had to pick up the slack when Ms. Slaughter was idle and would not travel to keep the process moving. We were surprised by her negative comments and attitude at the closing. I wish her the best of luck but would never recommend her.

We listed our Beacon home with Shannon. She did not provide anywhere near the services we expected,…read moreand we told her this all along. I asked her for accurate comps. that would reflect our home's value. They were not a good match for our house's value. She wanted to list it lower than she did, and didn't seem so apprised of fast-increasing home values in Beacon. She did not return calls in a timely manner and became very edgy when we asked her to physically visit us. I think she quickly went through our home two times, except for bringing someone through. We were satisfied with the price we got, but we felt she did little to contribute to that. Since she had done far less than expected to market our house, which sold before it was in multiple listings, we asked her and her manager for a lowering of commission. They were both unreceptive and not forthright. Where is the work ethic of yore? Why should one earn such a vast amount for partially doing her job? Why did we have to keep phoning her? I don't enjoy giving poor reviews, but it was deserved.

Initiated contact, received a canned email in return. Called and left a message, no callback…read more Emailed, received the same canned email as before. Three tries to give them business, just two boilerplate emails in response. Their business must be good to be so casual to contact. If you want to actually reach a real estate professional I suggest you look elsewhere.

My husband and I were looking to rent an house/ apartment in New Paltz. We called up Stevens Realty…read moreand spoke with Bruce who seemed professional. I told him that our budget was $2k and that we needed something that was pet friendly, and he immediately said "I have the perfect property" and handed me off to a someone named Jason. We saw the property and were ready to move on it! I asked Jason if he thought we could finalize in the next week and he said "it shouldn't be a problem." For the next four weeks, it was a terrible experience. Day after day, week after week, it was a different story that was delaying finalizing the lease. He said that the owner was being "stubborn," the owner held out for a buyer who would pay more (even though he previously told me not to worry because they weren't showing it anyone else), the owner didn't want a dog on the property, the broker is too busy to send the lease and prioritized ppl who were buying.... he kept on telling me that I "had to be patient or would ruin the deal." All this while, Jason knew that our urgency was because I was five months pregnant and we were trying to secure something ASAP so that we could make plans with doctors/ hospitals nearby, not to mention we had a hard deadline on our move and I needed an address to send to our movers. After a couple of days short of a month, the lease finally came and the terms we agreed on weren't there. We responded the next day with our concerns. Jason said no worries and that we would get the new lease in two days. That came and went. I called Jason, he said to give it a few more days. It took another week to receive the revised lease and they demanded that we sign it within 24 hrs (this is after the broker Lindsay took one week to make a change that might have taken 2-3 minutes). Needless to say, we chose to work with another realty group. After I communicated our decision to the broker Lindsay, she apologized and said that this is not the way that they run their business. I appreciated it (that's the only reason we are giving two stars and not one) but it was too little, too late... The trust was already gone and the experience was terrible. There's more that I could say about what a waste of time and how frustrating this process has been, but I'll just end it with we chose to work with someone else. I understand that this is a business but the "wheeling and dealing" personality of this realty group really rubbed us the wrong way.
