Our 2014 CX5 went in on 8/24 for front end vibration as low as 60 MPH and a slight clunk from the…read morebrake pedal sometimes when it was applied or released. The diagnostic fee was $159.95. Tech than reported to the service manager that the 2 front rims were BENT and should be replaced, but would rebalance these wheels and place them on the rear to minimize vibration. (New rims were in excess of $600.00 EACH.) He diagnosed the clunk from the brake pedal as coming from the rear brakes even though the pad thickness reading was 4MM and the minimum is 2MM. The charge for the rear brake job was $585.00. My total bill was $839.90. Upon leaving the dealer ship and driving on the hi way the vibration had shifted to the rear of the car. I took the car home and did an axial runout (with a dial indicator) on the 4 aluminum rims and found the worst one was .043". You can't see a wobble that small so I don't know how the tech did! I visited a repair shop I trust and they recommended I go the tire shop that does their suspension, brake, tire and wheel work. They took off the rear tires, inspected them and could not confirm any bent rims. They did have me go in to the bay to show me SCALLOPING on the rear tires. You could actually feel it as you ran your fingers along the tire treads! HOW COME THE MADZA TECH DIDN'T SEE THIS! He recommended replacing the 2 rear tires, but when he tried to ID them he said " where did you get these no name tires?. I said the Mazda dealer! He than said I don't even know if I can get those! Since the fronts were worn more that 50%, I decided to replace all 4 tires. I mentioned the brake pedal clunk and he said it might be the sway bar links. He did an inspection ( for no charge) and said he couldn't see a problem there. (He also told me he does brakes for $350/ axle!) So again the $$585.00 rear brake job (that wasn't really needed) did not solve the occasional brake pedal clunking problem. It is my opinion that the service managers @ Alden Mazda push parts and repair work that is not really need or solves the problems you have. My wife and I really like the CX-5 we have and we did buy it @ Alden, but I will be looking to get future service work done elsewhere!

This is a review of the service side of the business, only. As for the sales side of the business,…read moreI'll write a separate review. The fact that I have purchased 3 cars from them should tell you something. I've brought all 4 of my Mazdas here for warranty service and maintenance. One of them was purchased elsewhere and the others bought from this location. Whenever I go in, I see mostly the same faces, something that speaks to me of the consistency of service I've had here. I've dealt with other dealer services that seemed to have a revolving door approach to personnel; not here. I think it's great to be greeted by name each time by someone who knows me and my cars. When they've hired someone new, the manager (now I feel bad that I can't remember his name) makes a point to introduce them. Every car, even new ones, has its little problems. That's why Mazdas bumper-to-bumper warranty is a big plus. Excepting oil changes and normal maintenance, I haven't had to pay a cent for service. The service manager and counter staff have always got me a convenient appointment time when I call. Once, I was having multiple things done in the same visit. They scheduled each part of the job in an order that both got me out of there in good time. They even made sure I got a complimentary car wash before the guy who does the detailing went home for the day. It was all done like clockwork. If it can't be done like that, they will arrange a ride or even a loaner if necessary. I usually ask them to check on any service bulletins beforehand. One time that I forgot, the service manager didn't forget. He looked them up and included a few tweaks into the work order so I got it all done in one trip. Service gets done right the first time too. The one time I had an issue that needed escalation to Mazda for warranty approval, all of the calls were made and a part shipped in beforehand. I had to wait a few days for the part to come in but I didn't lift a finger or pay a cent for any of it. One might expect maintenance to be higher at a dealer shop. Not the case here. After they deduct the better of my customer discount or coupon promo, the price of oil changes is on par or less than those chain lube places. Plus, I know they'll use the Mazda factory filter and the right oil plus Wynns booster. That ain't bad. It keeps me coming back. To sum it up, it's the best combination of professional staff, personal service, convenience and value. [And just in case you wondered, nobody from Alden Mazda asked me to write this review.]

There were many odd moments that I tried to brush off as people having a bad day but they were having a bad day every time I stepped in that location. It is not a professional setting. It is run more like a bunch of guys in an unclean shop where they just do and say what they want. On the service side, I was charged a diagnostic fee twice and they kept my car multiple days without letting me know what work they were doing or giving an estimate of what it would cost. They ordered parts twice without telling me and i had to call multiple times to ask for updates. I would then get one answer but when I would go in person, I would get a different answer. You cannot pick up your car until you pay in full and they charge what they want. As soon as I got my car back, the engine light was back on. My car broke down a week later, they had it for a week, $900 paid. There is so much more to my experience but I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews. I just don't want any other person having to experience this. They may have been good before but cannot provide good service now.
