The office staff seems committed to offering the best customer experience. I can tell they succeed at that. No issue with them. My concern relates to time spent as a new patient. I spent 25' max. with Dr. Alana Villada. I spent 25' in a direct personal exchange between me, the patient, and the said Dr. I received a bill of $308.10. I checked with my insurance. I was billed under code 99204 (New patient office visit, 45-59 minutes). I reached out to the billing team and they sent me back to the office manager. The office manager stated that any work conducted by the Physician via the portal (like uploading and posting a comment about a lab result) can be minutes aggregated to the initial visit face-to-face. I am in disagreement since I interacted with the doctor only 25'. Any work done after the face-to-face visit culminated (asynchronously, not demanding a patient's response or physical examination, online, etc.) cannot be considered an in-person visit with a licensed professional or be billed under the same care or service provided. I told them I did my annual physical and I normally just go to the doctor for prescriptions unless I'm sick. Instead of telling me that only a doctor could prescribe my adhd meds and reschedule my appointment they said I needed to talk to a psychiatrist because normally they don't prescribe adhd medications. I need medication to have my brain function properly. I feel no shame in saying so, it has improved my memory, sleep routine and overall well being. I will never go back to living half a life like I use too. Shame on you Buford Clinic and shame on Georgia for making it hard to get the help you need to take care of your mind and body.
