In addition to this we also decided to have him install decking and a light with a switch. He was extremely fair about the quote and gave us a great price. We supplied the parts and he supplied the labor. In some cases he even bought the materials and had us reimburse him for the exact cost without marking up at all; in other cases he actually went with us to the hardware store and helped pick out the best materials at the most reasonable prices and hauled off the materials for us since they wouldn't fit in our car! Do not hire these guys, they are crooks. John Berry and Larry Vollmer are unethical thieves. We…read morehired them for a major backyard home exterior renovation project over a year ago. They completed less than half the project after having coerced us into paying 95% of contracted project cost in advance, and then walked from the project. Not only did they walk but after they did so and we brought in other contractors to finish the project we found their work to be substandard and portions of it had to be redone. We engaged an attorney and sued these guys. They ignored the lawsuit, and we won the lawsuit. in light of them ignoring the situation and hiding we went further and got the court to grant a large summary judgement against them. If YELP had the functionality I would attach the judgement to this posting. Bottom line, is these guys owe us an upper six figure judgement and they continue to ignore it and are attempting to hide. We are not going away. They need to do what is right and settle this! Just beware if you plan on using these guys, you are choosing to work with serious bad guys. Hold on to your wallet.
