Ailey Solar Electric

Back of the Yards, New City

The team did a great job working with us from start to finish. We had a lot of questions that Tony…read morepatiently answered. He was always available to quickly respond to anything we did not understand whether by voice, text or email. He provided his proposal quickly and made changes immediately until we were satisfied and then explained the financing options clearly. We decided to go with the financing even though we will pay off the system right away due to timing and zero interest if you pay it off within a certain period. In the end we went with 23 of the 410 watt Jinko panels which will provide approximately 9000 KwH per year. They sit on a west facing roof. (Your mileage will vary due to which direction your roof faces and shading from nearby trees.) We signed the contract in August 2022 and went out of town for 2 weeks in September. When we got back Ailey scheduled us for early October. (This is a bit faster than normal as they had two other customers ahead of us that could not go that week.) The install itself went great. Eric did a through analysis beforehand and mapped out the system clearly for the crew. They had 5 guys here for 3 days and all of them were aces. Very polite and professional they really knew their business. The electrician Joe, takes pride in his work and and it shows. His install was clean and it looks great too. Crew Leader Matt was clear answering questions and setting expectations. I was comfortable enough with all of them that I left them on their own for 4 or 5 hours on days 1 and 2. Along the way they noticed that our 150 year old house was not grounded properly so they pounded in two, eight foot grounding rods and connected the system, and our house, to them for no extra charge! Like I said they know what they are doing. They scheduled the Barrington Village inspection quickly after the job was done making sure to check with us first on the timing. Eric came back to meet with the inspector and Matt returned to add some fire stop caulk (an inspector's go to when they can't find anything wrong - lol) and a couple stickers. They had a bit of trouble connecting the system to our internet due to the Eero system we have. Matt explained that there is a cellular kit most other solar installers use that would have worked flawlessly but it had a catch. It was free for the first five years then you had to pay monthly to continue to have access to the system. He solved the connectivity problem, saving us from an unexpected future bill explaining that they go the extra mile for their customers which pretty much sums up our experience with Ailey. Overall, going with Ailey for our solar system proved to be an excellent decision.

Panels were activated in January 2023. Before the contract was signed, representatives from Ailey took the time to come out to the property, went on the roof and checked the electrical. They also successfully navigated issues that came up as the project progressed. Everything is working as expected; expected annual production is approximately 119,000 kWh. Solar production updates will be on the church website www.stpaulcanfield.org.

Deceptive business practices!! A couple of years into solar…read morepanel ownership. Here's some things they don't tell you when they sell you a system for $25,000. Your warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Whenever there is an issue with your system, you will get a notification that tells you there's an issue, but doesn't tell you what the issue is, that requires a technicians visits which is $180 I recently had a panel that is under performing, which, after a technicians visit deemed to be a manufacturers defect. So my kick ass warranty should cover this right? Wrong! The manufacturer will replace the panel, but I'll have to pay for shipping, which is approximately as much as a brand new panel would cost. Also, I have to pay for a technician to install the replacement panel. So when the sales person sells you peace of mind that the warranty will cover you - don't believe a word of it. I have long recommended solar panels to my friends. I have also long recommended not going near this chop shop enterprise. They are Temu version of what a solar company should be. Project management is a joke. See my earlier review for that debacle. Product support is an even bigger joke. I wish I could give zero stars.

My experience with Windfree Solar Company has been awful. In addition, make sure all the permit is pulled with your municipal, along with the correct schematics for the solar panels, both were an issue here. After speaking with Adam Perri, Director of Windfree Solar, I was told, due to the workers were subcontractors, the destruction of my personal outdoor equipment and garage was not Windfree problem. All the woes, leaves me with the savings from the schematics of 77% savings, panned out to 18%. Monitoring for the solar panels based on the information I was given was a country outside the U.S., with no option to opt out of 3rd party advertisement. No thank you! Value=NONE!

The staff is very responsive - theyll call, email, and even text you to work out anything and communicate as needed They give you the option to virtually provide photos of your setup for the initial proposal of an installation without requiring them to send someone to inspect things, which saves time for both parties. Once received, they'll verify the feasibility of the installation and draw up an official proposal for your review. I had a couple prerequisites to handle prior but once ready, they are quick to get back to you with all of the official documents From there, theyll send the engineers/electricians down to do the installation. Vasili handled my job and did amazing work. Super friendly and knowledgeable, great conversation, finished in 2 hours. He walked me through the game plan, insisted that I prioritized what location fit my preference over what would be easier to do, and executed it independently in a timely fashion. Overall very satisfied with the service from Kapital Electric :)
