The henna was done at Salma's home in city of Arcadia. We felt comfortable and she was very welcoming. The henna and Jagua ink have natural ingredients. ::Experience:: Before she got started, she asked what design we wanted and also showed some examples of her previous work to help us decide. I liked that she has the ingredients of the henna ink and the after care instructions on a piece of paper displayed on a table. Once we decided on the design she began. Salma did not rush us to decide on the design which I appreciated. To my surprise, she was quick and the design was beautiful. My daughter and I liked it a lot!! She even sprinkled some glitter on it. (Note: the glitter doesn't stay on). When we were done, we waited until it was dry. Other places I've gone to, we just left. As a result of leaving, we end up messing up the henna. I really liked how we stayed to wait for it try before leaving. When it was dry, she sprayed something on it. I think it is to set the henna and Jagua. We got henna on our shoulder and back. For our hands we tried the Jagua. ::Customer Service:: Selma reached out to me because she realized that she didn't return my call. To make it up, she offered to do henna for my daughter and I. We liked it so much that we ended up getting another henna. I insisted I pay. This review is late, but Salma did such an amazing job that I must review her! I treated me and my Mother-in-law to henna after seeing it done from a viral Facebook video. We got it on the last day my MIL was in town, so it was a perfect last activity before she left. I read Salma's reviews, called her and got an appointment for the following afternoon. I was thrilled to get an appointment so fast but note that during festival season Salma gets totally booked. Our henna turned out beautifully! I will post our photos and video of Salma painting. She is very professional and very personable; I felt like I was talking to my hair stylist! My MIL and I had so much fun! We did not have a preference on the henna design so we let Salma choose for us. I felt she chose an appropriate design for my MIL, one that really made her hands look pretty! Important tip! Plan nothing after your henna appointment because it needs to stay on for at least 4 hours, 6 is even better. I had dinner reservations that evening and my MIL had her flight back home. So we left our henna on for only 2.5-3 hours and my henna work was not as dark as it could have been. I'll plan better next time... Regardless, our henna lasted for 8 days even though we had to scrub it off early. I'm sure if we left it on for 5-6 hours our henna would have lasted for way longer. Here's my long overdue review! But I got these on the last week of January! Salma did a great job on the flame hennas she did for me. She's very fast and extremely welcoming and kind. The Jagua turned out decent, but much preferred the Henna. These lasted me 3 weeks for both before they completely started coming off. Just gotta protect them with applying natural oils or shea butter lotion so they don't come off during the shower, and don't scrub too hard on them either! The Jagua turned a lot darker than the photo, and the Henna darkened to a dark orangey brown. Thanks again Salma! Looking to do more with you. read more
