We absolutely love her and are so glad we were able to meet her. She has a special eye for beauty. Our engagement photos were on a super chilly, grey day in Boston. Lauren took us to Faneuil Hall, where she had never shot before, and spent time scouting it ahead of time in the cold before we even showed up. During the subsequent shoot, it felt so leisurely, she made us so comfortable even when posing with hundreds of tourists in the background. I think she inherently can pick up on the personalities of couples and really try to cater her shooting style to them to make them feel comfortable. When our engagement photos came back, we were absolutely stunned and couldn't wait to have her again for Wedding Day. The wedding itself was a blur, but I remember every moment with Lauren and Wayne, our second shooter. They were a dream to work with, blending into the background and capturing moments that I didn't even know existed! Some of our favorite photos were close-ups of guests' expressions during the wedding; she really knows how to capture the warmth, personality, and small moments. I stumbled upon Lauren after seeing photos she shot of a styled shoot that my hairdresser had…read moreparticipated in. When I reached out to her to see if she would be willing to take on a multi-family photo shoot (the families of me and my three siblings) in the hopes to getting a great group shot to surprise our mom with for the holidays, Lauren did not hesitate to respond with enthusiasm and great ideas for how to structure such a shoot. From the get-go she responded to every email quickly and I felt confident with moving forward with her and this somewhat complicated project. As part of her process, she also scheduled a phone call with me to learn about what types of photos we hoped to capture and to learn about each of my siblings and our children so that she would know the names and priorities of this massive group of clients! The day of the shoot, at Piers Park in East Boston, Lauren arrived early and was already set up and ready to shoot when our session time started. She immediately addressed each of my siblings, their significant others and their children by name- her memory for all the information I gave her on the planning call was amazing! It made the shoot feel so personal from the beginning. The shoot involved five children (a 9 month old, 12 month old, 15 month old and two 3 year olds) which had the potential to be a real circus. The kids all took turns melting down, but Lauren never lost her cool and kept coming up with different ways to engage them and to get different pairs of (non-screaming) children together. Her quick thinking and positivity really made a difference to our experience. After the shoot, Lauren delivered us a full gallery of photos within two weeks of the shoot date, as promised in her contract. The photos are AMAZING. She has a real talent. You would never have been able to guess from the photos that it was a gray, cloudy afternoon and that the children had been in meltdown mode. We had so many potential shots to pick from to give to our mom. I cannot recommend Lauren enough for photography- not just family photography but weddings too. I got married two years ago and paid a really renowned photographer to do our pictures, and I am not nearly as happy with those as I am with the ones Lauren took. We cannot wait to engage her for more photos as our little one grows up. She is organized, responsive, talented and just an awesome person!

We realized again and again in the months leading up to our wedding we would not have been able to plan anything near what we had envisioned without her. Emily is wonderfully creative and paid such attention to every detail. She got to know us and made sure that the wedding was a reflection of "us" as a couple. One of our favorite moments from our wedding weekend was when Emily brought us into the reception space to see it fully transformed - we just couldn't believe how incredible everything was! I can't tell you how many people commented that it was one of the most beautiful and fun weddings - and also how "us" it was- all due to Emily's design and planning. I have had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to make a negative review at all because my wedding was so positive, but I feel it is important for other brides to be made aware of this problem. I won't go into many details (although I did write notes in moments of frustration) but in summary she is very un-prompt in her responses (which towards the end not only is stressful but made things more expensive, like dropping the ball on candles and lanterns that should have been ordered a long time ago; I think I literally signed a contract with the person doing my lights for my tent two weeks before the wedding. It wasn't just me and my mom who were wondering what was going on, but my other vendors who were worried too). Everything that she was suppose to have control over was done last minute. The last month or so of my wedding planning was a lot more stressful then it needed to be because there were still questions unanswered. This was a time that I should have had everything completely ready to go, and everything was, except for items that she was "designing". She was cold and rude, when I was trying to be friendly and fun! All of my other vendors were super enthusiastic, friendly, accommodating and helpful throughout this process and I by no means was a difficult bride. Most of my tight knit group of vendors would respond to me within the hour, or definitely the day. I often didn't hear from her for days. On multiple occasions she referred to my "lower investment" which is why she couldn't do something. Not only is that entirely inappropriate, but in my eyes (and many of my vendors eyes as well) I was paying way too much for what I got (I paid $4600) And what I got was pretty much inspiration, some sourcing, and a little help the day of (which my day of coordinator could have done completely..emily was not there by the way, it was her assistant--courtney who was very nice!). I don't know if it was because of my "lower investment" that she didn't put as much time into my wedding, but her timeline was very off. In order to be successful in this business, you not only need to have the creative touch and ideas (which she definitely has), but you really need to be good with people, happy, organized, enthusiastic and eager to help. Also, she did not care about our budget. In the end my wedding was beautiful! Maybe it had a little to do with her, but I am pretty sure that without her it would have been beautiful too. And most definitely, much less stressful. It was my vision after all and my other vendors executed it flawlessly.

I had planned almost every detail of the wedding and knew exactly how I envisioned my big day but the problem was I could not oversee the coordination of all the vendors/individuals in the execution of my plans. However, Wendy seemed to take over flawlessly and made sure everything happened EXACTLY as I had hoped. My fiance and I were beyond thankful for her because she really enabled us to enjoy every moment of our big day!! When tiny things went wrong (and of course something will go wrong!) - Wendy always had a creative solution and did her absolute best to take care of it as quickly and quietly as possible. I was especially thankful for Wendy because I my niece (the flowergirl) had an issue come up and was unable to make it to the wedding ceremony with her dad so we were unable to get a complete family photo right after the ceremony. Very near the end of the reception, my niece and her dad finally came and Wendy orchestrated getting EVERYONE together for several complete family photos! We were SOOOOOooo thankful!! Literally the best combination you can ask for in an event coordinator. Last month I was at a Thanksgiving Dinner done by Wendy (and her assistants) that was phenomenal. The "flow" of the dinner and throughout the entire evening was exceptional. And, it was incredibly MEMORABLE! If you don't have time or energy for all the work that goes into an event, hire a true professional. I have made the mistake in the past of not working with a pro. "It's Your Day" is perfectly named. When you hire Wendy, you expect the best and she outperforms. Get her while her prices are still reasonable!
