Heather is fantastic! I left the design up to her, just said that I like the dotted lines and rococo sort of features I'd seen her do, and she produced just the sort of thing I was hoping for. She's super friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was wonderfully pleasant overall. I highly recommend Heather for any henna needs! read more

Heather was fantastic to work with. We had her come for a small baby shower for my sister. Her work is absolutely beautiful! Communication was excellent, and she was punctual and personable. She also works incredibly fast. She did my sisters pregnant belly as well as the hands of about 8 or 9 guests in 2 hours! I highly recommend her for any event. read more

Henna by Heather is a haven of handsome henna handiwork! Up to this point, I have received two beautiful pieces of henna (each on separate occasions) and have been completely thrilled with both of them. I first encountered Henna by Heather at a Yelp Elite Event a while back. I was delighted by Heather's expertise, friendly attitude, and efficiency in creating a design that I was not only happy with, but proud to show off to all my friends! Most recently, I came across her booth at the East Providence Heritage Festival and after noting the company, dove right into her books to pick out a design. Heather had a variety of price levels and multiple examples of what she could produce making it very easy to decide how much I wanted to spend and examine just what it was I could expect for my money. I chose a $20 tattoo design and after looking at it together, decided that Heather would free hand something around the same size and design of what I was initially intending to get. Usually, with something even semi-permanent, I will sweat over the design and go back and forth until I'm super certain about what I want. Fortunately with Heather, I have no problem leaving the design choices in her hands. Her artistry is fantastic! After a quick glance at the website, it is clear Henna by Heather is much more than just a booth you'll find at festivals, events, and the like throughout New England. She provides services for bridal and pre-natal henna, coordinates a number of other specialties into event planning (like tarot-card readers, belly dancers, etc.), and is quite flexible in providing whatever service you want in a variety of settings and locations. I highly recommend Henna by Heather and encourage you to check in if she's at an event near you! read more

Henna by Heather worked as a vendor at our Dark Spring Boston Summer Garden Party event. Her work is stunning! Not only did our attendees love her work, she was an absolute pleasure to work with as a vendor. I look forward to working with Heather again and would recommend her to anyone either looking for a vendor OR looking to get henna work done! read more

Heather is the best in the business, hands down. I'm somewhat of a henna addict, you might say, and any time I come across a henna artist at a fair, or what have you, I always indulge. What I love about Heather's work is that she is so precise, and very clean with her designs (I've had others where the lines are just way too thick, and look very amateur), and she also works quite fast, again, compared to others who take forever to do what she can do in about half the time. No, patience is not one of my virtues, but I digress. So if you have the opportunity to get adorned by Heather, go for it, you'll be glad you did! read more

Heather did a great free-hand design for me at a recent YELP event. When I sat down at her work station, she was clearly at the end of a very long night of endless henna (it WAS nearing the end of party time). Despite my timing, Heather was so gracious and patient with asking me questions about a design I might like. I gave her some ideas and let her create her own design based on just a few details about my life and likes. The result was an intricately beautiful trio rendering of a butterfly, bird and flower trailing down my forearm to the top of my hand. Three days later, I am still getting compliments on her awesome artistry. I would definitely seek her out again for another design. read more

I went to a Yelp event that had Heather there doing henna. I had never gotten henna done before but I always thought it looked great. I have always wanted a tatoo also but haven't settled on what it should be so this is perfect since it is not permanant but it also doesn't wash off right away either. So I sat down not really having a specific design in mind but she looked at me and the jewelry that I wear and came up with a design on the spot for me that I loved and everyone that has seen it has been complimenting it also. She is self taught also and now is teaching henna as well. So I must say she is great!! I would highly recommend her to anyone. read more

I have been purchasing Henna supplies and Henna e-books for around 10 years now from Heather and you will love it! She's a true artist and a professional! You will not be disappointed! In fact, some new e-books just came out that any henna artist should have in their collection! read more

Heather did my wedding henna in June 2017 and I wish I could give her MORE THAN 5 stars! She came to the Airbnb where we were staying and we chatted and watched Moana while she worked on her masterpieces! Heather was so easy to talk to and such a sweetheart that it was easy to sit with her for hours. I was so impressed with the final results and so were all my wedding guests. With Heather's care and maintenance instructions (and the sugar spray she gave me) my rich, gorgeous henna lasted for a good 2.5 weeks! I can't say enough good things about my experience with Henna by Heather and I would definitely recommend her to others! read more

Disclaimer: Not a review on the basis of her work done. But just the customer service for initial inquiry. My fiancee and I are getting married in a month. She had called Heather to inquire about her availability. She wasn't available for the dates requested, but her "better than the rest of the world" attitude was quite annoying. She said, "people of our (her and her colleague) caliber get booked six months in advance". A simple we're not available that day would've sufficed. The additional star is for the fact that, she did offer to put us in touch with some new budding artists. With that attitude, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Talented! Heather is amazing. From the very start she was a total pro, helping me choose the design and areas to get done and educating me on what to expect. We did one session for my foot, leg, hand, arm, and across my back. It was like having a girlfriend over to chat while she worked on me. I've gotten so many compliments on it. No one can believe it was freehand, it's so perfect! If you have any event, occasion, or are just want to try a new look, Heather should be your only choice! read more

Not only is Heather incredibly talented, she is super kind and sweet. She does beautiful work completely by free hand (!!!) in a very short period of time. I've had her henna a few times (at various fairs or yoga events) and every single time she does a great job. She provides a book from which you can select a design, with detailed pricing and the pricing is affordable. I also receive many compliments for days afterwards. I would highly recommend Heather for her consistent beautiful work. read more

Thank you, Heather, for hooking me up with my very first, cool, Henna tattoo on my hand. I visited Henna at the 2014 Yelp Anniversary party, but would certainly return to see her again... Here's why: the henna lasted quite a while (over a week). She listened to what I wanted and came up with a design that I really liked. She provided me with instructions so as to keep the image from smudging and to keep it lasting. Despite the typical henna design done on the top of one's hands, she did it on my palm so work wouldn't freak. Great thinking. Thanks again! read more

I'd never done this before and I must say, it was quite relaxing. The design on my hand looks great and Heather is awesome at replicating what you point out in a book of over 100 designs. I would totally do this with a bunch of girlfriends for a bday or bachelorette party. It's different and interesting and lasts way longer than a mani/pedi! read more

I had contacted Heather for my sister's bachelorette party. My sister had had henna done by Heather at a past yelp event. Heather was pleasant, easy to work with, but had been previously booked on the day of the party. Not to worry though. She offered to send a colleague instead! She sent the very talented, very helpful, very creative, kind, friendly, cheerful, Jamilah. Jamilah's work was fantastic! In total, she did henna for about 12 ladies. She did arms, hands, feet, backs and a leg. And it was all gorgeous! Everyone was very happy with their henna. More importantly, my sister LOVED it. Mine lasted about 2 weeks, but some girls lasted longer. Seems like it depends on your skin type. Moral of the story: I would definitely call Heather again! read more

I met Heather at a Yelp event in Providence, and she was really excellent! She saw visitor after visitor and just kept making design after design, tailored to the person, without replicating designs. Heather does beautiful delicate work and really knows her henna history and technique. She's also a talented artist, both reproducing traditional designs and creating her own, both traditional and modern. It's a wonder to watch her at work, tracing the delicate lines with such confidence and artistry. She's also quite inspirational to those of us who like to dabble a little in henna ourselves, providing free designs and advice. I've recommended her for parties and events before and have no hesitation about recommending her here! read more

I have never seen before, nor have I again Henna as professionally done and gorgeous as heather's. She is by far very flexible and willing to work with you and your needs. What could be better than ice cream on hot Saturday night? Getting ice cream, then running into Heather doing her henna magic at J.P. Licks and getting an impromptu awesome henna tattoo. Wait..it get's better. Heather didn't even want to take any money...do people like that even exist today? Being a henna fan, I'd heard of Henna by Heather before but she surpassed my henna expectations and proved to be a super cool person on top of that. The henna lasted forever (in henna terms) and so did the great impression Heather made. read more

Beautiful, amazing, wonderful. I had met Heather at India Restaurant on Hope St. in Providence on my birthday weekend last year. Instantly, I fell in love with Henna. I've had many great designs done on my back, arms, hands and feet. I come all the way to RI (from CT) just to be turned into a work of art. Since she would travel all over New England to do a wedding, party or fair, everyone from all over have to book her for their next function or just track her down! Check out her great website full of photos to look at and find her whereabouts. read more

I should have written this review nine months ago, but better late than never! Heather did the henna for a(n Indian) wedding where I was MOH. She took the time to do at least five of us, and even stayed a little late. She was very professional and very TALENTED! She was able to do freestyle when I requested something a little unusual, and she gave us great directions about how to keep the henna looking fresh and how to get it darker. Heather is prompt, professional, and dependable! Her work is consistently excellent and she is forthright and easy to work with!

I always wanted to try Henna and originally contacted Heather through a web search as a birthday treat for my self. I didn't know what to expect but I was comfortable with her knowledge descriptions and explanations of the different quality of Henna, what she uses ( we all want to know what is going on our body and don't want junk on our skin) as well as impressed with her artwork. My initial contact was clear, pleasant and professional which put me at ease that I was dealing with an experienced professional Henna artist. I was extremely pleased with Heather's work. She is a natural. I would use and recommend her highly. read more

I have had henna done by Heather quite a few times in the past, and all I can say is that she is absolutely amazing! She only uses the highest quality of fresh henna, that leaves the nicest, darkest stain, that lasts a couple of weeks, at least! I love to let her do a freehand design, instead of just picking on out of the book, because you truly get a feel for her artistic talent! She has done some intricately detailed designs on my arm and hands, that I wish could have lasted forever. Such a nice person to deal with. The best henna artist in the area, hands down! read more

Oh why why why do I work for a conservative employer!?!? If I didn't I would have Heather put designs all over my hands! She was at the Yelp Backstage event on 4/23 and I was feeling rebellious so I asked her to do a design on the inside of my wrist. She designed it on the spot and did a fabulous job! It's so pretty and I feel like a little rebel when I push up my sleeves at work -- watch out! :-) read more

Yelp held the Backstage Pass Party and Heather was giving henna tattoos in the back. I could not resist getting one! I was always a henna fan since high school back in the 90's, so i had some knowledge of it already. Heather had a great steady hand for intricate design and informed me of the length of the tattoo's staying power and how to exfoliate once it begins to fade away. She produced a scroll-like design without hesitation and her freehand was flawless. I am (still) impressed! She was a very pleasant, soft spoken young woman and I was very comfortable working with her. The tattoo looks fantastic and I have received many compliments. read more
