The care i received.
Chelsi C.

No care. I went in throwing up and 2 weeks later this is how i got sent home. No help or explanation whatsoever.

Such of bad way they serve the food to the patients! They use styrofoam! The worse !!!
Nancy M.

Wow!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORSE OF THE WORSE! I've never seen anything like this !! They just served my husband lunch on all styrofoam containers !!! Wow the worse !! The place is filthy! Beds don't even have pillows on them! I can't wait to leave this place. Please DONT EVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!

ER doc wrote a 3 page letter to VA. Whinning about my conduct. I was polite and listened until my daugghter and i got tired of ab angry doctor brow beating a patient. Evdrythibg ge said was caused by his bedside manner. I was in severe pain that notgibg helped. I wanted ro go home because my daughter and i were very uncomfortable lidtening over and over the same thing . No veteran would take that from snyone. He wanted to fight, find reasons that paitent wtong. Bad bed side manner!!!! He would not talk to anyone like that if they werent tied down to bed. He talked to me with anger and trued to make me a fool. I have gone to other doctors since and feel a little better. The VA doctors treat you with respect but this guy made me want to get out of bed and stand up for mysekf. He is a WHINNER, NOT AN ER DOCTOR!!!!! I was swollen from 2 week of no RA meds plus nerve pain. It was obvious im here for pain, ra control. I was treated like a kid. I simply asked if you are authorized to give me more pain meds, give them. If they dont work ill go home. Thers was bi offer of help for RA, NERVE pain. Just shots that dont work and a pissed off doctor because i wasasking questions he thought we should already know. Blame the patient. Never the xxxxx that has a bad attitude and treats patients like kids. No veteran would stay there, why, the doctor makes the stress worse!!!! Then writes a 3 page letter bas8cally whinning about a patient. Very personal. What a xxxx!!!!

Hit and miss. Depends on if you get a caring dr or nurses. If you get both uncaring, you will suffer more than when you arrived.

Never felt pain like this before in my life, and I've had back surgery for scoliosis. From start to finish I felt like I was being taken well care of. The staff here is amazing. They did all of the necessary testing on me to determine the nature of my emergency. Needless to say, I ate way too many shelled peanuts at once that caused this emergency. I left feeling a lot better, and prescriptions that would get me past the next couple of days of recovery. Nothing major. Just prescription strength Tylenol and meds for nausea and vomiting. They said I could have peanuts again in the future, just in moderation, but this experience has me swearing off peanuts entirely. Not worth the risk with the pain I was in. I have to eat things like soup and bananas for the next two days to let my stomach heal, but a small price to pay for my health and well-being. Great staff and very professional.

I fell and injured both legs at home. I could not move legs, sit up from my back, stand or ambulate. The ER doctor said I had a bruised kneecap, and no physical exam was performed. I was physically picked up by two guys and thrown out of the hospital as I begged for help. I went to a different hospital and had proper exam and treatment. I had two torn quad tendons, a fractured kneecap and torn meniscus. I had three surgeries to repair damage. The hospital has denied any wrongdoing and keeps stating they met all standards of proper care. I have talked to dozens of medical professionals, and they cannot believe I was thrown out. I still can't believe it! I was sent home, no pain meds and assistance until I went to second hospital. I sat on couch for 5.5 days. Go Figure!

If you are considering this facility for emergency medical treatment, prepare for staggering…read moreincompetence, administrative negligence, and callous disregard for basic patient care. My grandmother was admitted through the emergency department by ambulance on Friday afternoon. When her labs showed severe deterioration on Saturday, the medical team ordered an urgent MRI. Because she has a modern spinal cord stimulator, we expected standard safety clearance protocols. Instead, the staff acted as if they had never encountered routine implant hardware before. On Saturday, staff asked our family for her stimulator remote and clear photos of the front and back of her device identification card. We sent them immediately. Rather than running the standard checks, staff told an elderly woman in acute distress that her scan was canceled because "there were eight more important cases" ahead of her and they simply did not have time. The mishandling grew significantly worse on Sunday. It became clear that the nurse had completely failed to save or chart the device documentation we provided. The staff scrambled aimlessly, calling her implanting surgeon to demand specific MRI scanner parameters that an outside surgeon obviously cannot provide for their machines. Once that useless detour failed, they placed her scan on hold yet again to contact the manufacturer--something that should have taken twenty minutes on Saturday morning with the card we had already delivered. On Monday, they demanded photos of the device ID card again. Apparently, the nurse took a photo of my grandmother's screen with her own phone, which produced a blurry and unusable image. They also informed her at 11 AM that they weren't able to get in touch with the device manufacturer, so they were delaying her discharge until Sunday. They honestly estimated they would need another 6 days to call the manufacturer. I Googled the device manufacturer and her model number. The very first result was the manufacturer's 20-page MRI guide for healthcare workers. I printed it out and gave it to the nurse. She sent it to the MRI team. This literally took 1 Google search. On Tuesday, they finally informed my grandmother that she needed someone to bring the device ID card to the hospital. I then had to drop everything and bring the card so they could take a photocopy. Keep in mind, my grandmother still had the clear scans of it on her phone. Meanwhile, my grandmother was left in severe pain and kept on morphine while her diagnostic work was stalled by avoidable clerical blunders. To make matters worse, staff twice delivered meal trays to her room, allowed her to take a few bites, and then abruptly snatched the food away, stating, "Oh, we forgot you're about to have an MRI, you can't have that." Tormenting a suffering, elderly patient with food because the care team cannot communicate with its own kitchen or review an NPO status is unacceptable. Leaving a deteriorating patient in severe pain, losing vital medical records between shifts, dismissing her suffering as unimportant, and botching standard clearance for a widely used, modern device is systemic failure. This hospital demonstrated a complete absence of internal communication, clinical competence, and basic human dignity. She was eventually released 2 days later with absolutely no plan in place. No pain medication, no insight into what caused this, and no consideration to the fact that she can't keep anything down without vomiting. Do not come here. Literally go anywhere else.

I waited in the lobby patiently. I was then called in at my appointment time exactly at 1:30pm. The assistant took my blood pressure & weight, then escorted me to the waiting room at 1:35. I sat in the waiting room until 2:00pm! Christine V. never showed up! I heard her walk into a room of a patient that showed up after me at 1:58pm! There was no communication from the staff letting me know they were short staffed. Nor was there any communication for warning me that the wait would be longer than expected. I left as soon as my lunch break ended 2pm (and returned to work late). I did let the nice receptionist know that no one ever came in the room to see me. She could tell I was upset when I walked out. Do you think anyone called me to apologize? No! Not during the drive home, nor during the remainder of the afternoon or evening! The next day I got a message from the MyChart portal letting me know my prescription refill was denied. The portion I paid for my blood work on 12/24, and the $70 copay for the office was a waste of money!

From working long hours with multiple patients on the floor they never failed to provide my brother with adequate care. The nurses on the floor was kind, and welcoming and always made my big family feel comfortable in those tiny rooms. My loved one was in intense pain and was struggling mentally sitting in those rooms but osay Jason and Anna never failed to take time out of their days to sit with us and talk, tell stories and joke and make my brother laugh. He began to have a allergic reaction to the laundry detergent used on the sheets and Osay was so incredibly helpful and caring. Maintenance and housekeeping sucks in this hospital but these nurses never ever failed to make sure we have everything we needed. I even had a stomache ache one night staying there and Osay offered to find me something to help. When he was discharged osay made sure we were sent home with everything we needed and financially this was huge for us as this accident was awful and emotionally draining already. He had one night with and awful nurse who wasn't able to insert and iv correctly and they made us aware that they were investigating her and he will not have her as his night nurse again. Other than that one night he was probably taken care of and you could tell the nurses on this floor really cared for their jobs and patients.

My review of Sunrise hospital:…read more I started experiencing upper abdominal pain this morning and though I could tough it out...by 8pm I'd called 911...by 10:30 I voluntarily discharged because they were questioning my service dog AGAIN! This happened because a lady, not dressed in hospital attire walk by, saw Boeba and immediately ask if I has papers for my service dog...which is completely illegal and I told her that immediately. She argued more with me so I ignored her. She stormed off and next thing I know I have an even shorter guy, I'm assuming her administrative boyfriend, who told me my dog could not be there if I had no papers for him... ineptly ignorant to say the least, BOTH is them! I refused to even consider surrendering him to animal control simply because a couple dumbasses are too clueless to do their job and KNOW THE LAW! So, in excruciating pain I left with my service dog and spent the remainder of the evening in pain until the next morning when I went to Valley Hospital Medical Center...yelped them too! After explaining myself to the paramedics they cleared me to bring my service dog. The paramedics were great! The hospital was a whole different story! Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), healthcare facilities are federally required to allow service animals in all public areas and patient areas where members of the public are allowed to go. What those staff members did wasn't just unprofessional--it directly violated federal law on two distinct fronts: Demanding "Papers" or "Registration": Under the ADA, covered entities cannot require documentation, proof of certification, or special papers for a service dog. Formal mandatory registration or certification for service animals does not exist under federal law, and demanding it is illegal. The Two Permissible Questions: Title III of the ADA strictly limits staff to asking only two specific questions if the disability/need isn't obvious: Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? Threatening animal control or trying to force you to separate from your service dog--especially while you were in severe abdominal pain seeking emergency care--is a gross violation of your rights. Actions You Can Take If you want to hold Sunrise Hospital accountable for this, you have formal legal and administrative avenues available: File an ADA Complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ): You can file a formal civil rights complaint directly through ADA.gov. The DOJ actively investigates healthcare entities that deny access to service animal handlers. Contact Sunrise Hospital's Patient Advocate / Risk Management: Request to speak directly with their Patient Relations department or Risk Manager. State clearly that staff on duty violated ADA Title III regulations regarding service animal verification and forced a constructive discharge while you were in emergency medical distress. File a Complaint with the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH): Hospital licensing bodies take non-compliance with federal patient access laws very seriously. You can report hospital staff misconduct directly through Nevada's state health regulatory oversight body.

He took the time to explain everything and made sure all necessary tests were done. Two weeks prior, I had gone to St. Rose Hospital for the exact same pain and was told it was esophageal spasms without much testing. The pain went away the next day, but when it came back two weeks later, it was a full 10/10. When I explained this to Dr. Leavit, he told me that esophageal spasms are very difficult to definitively diagnose and that he wanted to run a full workup to be sure we weren't missing anything. I am so grateful he did. It turned out to be my gallbladder, and it needed to be removed. I was told it was close to rupturing, and catching it when they did likely prevented a much more serious situation. I was there for several hours before being admitted to Henderson Hospital, and although there was an emergency situation that caused some delays, the team kept me informed every step of the way.
