    Bavarian Cream Churros
    Stephanie D.

First time staying at this hotel and they have a voucher for food and since I wasn't hungry, I got some desserts to try. I'm OBSESSED with chocolate so I had to try the chocolate cake. I very much love the filling on the inside which was a chocolate frosting and loved the chocolate layer on the outside of the cake. The cake part itself was definitely a bit dry. It was flakey when I put my spoon into it. Still good but the filling helped a lot. It did come with some kind of fruit sauce on the side (maybe strawberry?) but I didn't wanna make it a fruity chocolate cake so I dipped a few bites. I also saw they had Bavarian cream churros and since I've never had churros before, I wanted to try those as well. I'm not sure how churros are supposed to be but I was thinking they would be a little soft since they had filling but they weren't. They were on the crunchy side and I that kinda made it hard to taste the cream in the middle. They were good but like I said, not sure if that's how they're supposed to be. They came with a chocolate sauce and it was delicious but that definitely masked the flavor of the churro. Both were $7 each so not too bad. I think I'd get both again if I'm here in the future. Side note, no, I don't finish either dessert. I took them home. Lmao!

MY LEAST FAVORITE ROOFTOP IN ASHEVILLE [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hemingway's Cuba is on the 4th floor of the Cambria Hotel. It's a spacious bar/restaurant with ample indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been here twice now and cannot say I'm impressed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On our most recent visit we ordered chicken empanadas as a snack with our drinks. The chicken was bland with no seasoning or sauce inside, just plain chicken. The empanadas had a sauce drizzled on top and another sauce on the side, but those couldn't quite save the dish, just made it palatable. The food came out before drinks, and we already finished our food before the drinks came! Waitress checked on us and we said we were still waiting on drinks and she had to ask us again what we ordered. She then promptly came with the drinks. Drinks were pretty good, but we stopped after that one round. Our waitress seemed new, so I don't fault her. All in all, with the abundance of rooftop bar options downtown this one is definitely on the bottom of my list. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The main plus is how spacious it is, great for large groups![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just avoid the empanadas.

My Dad has a vacation home in Asheville. We try to go at least a couple times per year. This particular June we had a mini family reunion there. I immediately asked to book a brunch at Hemingway's because [[HIGHLIGHT]]the food is always good and the view is gorgeous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We rolled in expecting our normal satisfying Hemingway's experience.... Turns out we were in for a huge treat! The Manager, Kelly, greeted us and made us feel like movie stars. She was over the top with her hospitality. In mere minutes it felt like we had come home for Christmas!!! She was so amazing and took such good care of us. As did our server and the kitchen staff!!! We had the most amazing time and ate the most amazing food!!!! It wasn't just brunch, it was an experience!!!! I cannot recommend this place more!!!! Goooooooo!!!! You will not regret it!!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place has a great view of downtown Asheville and the mountains.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't remember what drink I got, but I think it was pretty good. Knowing me, it was probably some kind of Prosecco situation. I'm not sure the name of the girl who took care of us either as our receipt just said bar team H, but they were great. We only ordered Yuka fries to eat and they were super good, so no complaints there. I will definitely stop by the next time I'm in Asheville.

My girlfriend and I celebrated our 21-month-versary with a little Asheville date while we were staying in Marshall for a mini getaway. The hostess found our reservation right away and seated us inside--originally I asked for patio seating, but Mother Nature said "absolutely not," so indoors it was. Our waitress was fantastic. I'm about 87% sure her name was Sylvia (according to my girlfriend), but what I do know is that she was a fun, blondish woman from New Orleans with a personality that made the experience even better. We kept it light--just drinks and appetizers to share. I ordered a Coquito, my girlfriend ordered something sweet (the name escapes me, but the smile didn't). Food-wise, we shared the chicken empanadas, yuca fritas, and crispy Caribbean wings. Every bite was a win. We had to make a dramatic exit because we were heading to a walking ghost tour (priorities), so we grabbed dessert to go: pastelitos de guayaba. Even eaten on the move, they were absolutely delicious. Great food, great service, great vibes--10/10 would celebrate another month-versary here.

The restaurant is on the 4th floor of a hotel. We went on a Thursday night and there wasn't many people there which made me a little skeptical. However, the food was great and had reasonable prices. The service was a little slow based on the low amount of people there. However, the food made up for that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The views from the outside rooftop were amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Looking for Cuban cuisine restaurants in Asheville , this might be close but it's definitely not like the real thing . I came here two years ago and it was definitely better than this time . This is why I made a reservation for New Year's Eve . The restaurant wasn't full at all so it was great , we got seated shortly after our reservation close the side window with the views. By 8:00pm dinner time they already had team out of most food , like the full dishes were almost done and there was not much too choose from except vaca frita if you didn't want a sandwich. The meat was not shredded it was most like ground beef and it didn't have much flavor . The drinks were good but stick to their menu I order another drink off the menu and it was sent back . It's in the 4th floor of the hotel so it's very convenient to come here if you don't want to go around the city .

Outdoor patio with fire pits and igloo for rent.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute outdoor patio with fire pits.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The coconut shrimp were amazing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoyed spending time with family and relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    BREAKFAST EMPANADAS
    Kendra B.

Meh. We ate here because we were staying at the Cambria and it seemed convenient to check it out. While the rooftop views were great, the food itself was a bit lacking. We didn't order anything spectacular but it was mediocre at best. The chicken empanadas needed more flavor. The ham croquettes tasted like we were just biting into mush. The home fries were the best part of the hemingway breakfast.

Great place to celebrate my work anniversary! The rooftop was amazing - view, design and live music. My server Tommy was top notch. Attentive, prompt, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to accommodate request to get to flight on time. The food was exceptional! From my house mojito to the tostones boards which consisted of a variety of toppings that were flavorful with each bite. Impressive! The camarones al ajillo were prepared in a delicious buttery sauce with visible garlic pieces! Hemingway is one of my favorite authors (see previous reviews on places that highlight him), and his name was carried on here. The interior design was also pleasing with a variety of highboys, booths and couches. I enjoyed the view and comfort of the patio seating - also couches and highboys. Look forward to returning to this part of Asheville that had cute boutiques and a variety of appealing dining options including Hemingways.

Can a 20 year old go here? Or is it 21 and up?

Is the brunch menu the same as the breakfast menu?

Our breakfast menu offered Monday thru Thursday is different than our brunch menu offered Friday thru Sunday. Our brunch menu still has favorite breakfast items but also includes lunch items as well.

    Is this restaurant dog friendly?

Unfortunately I don't believe they are, they're on the 4th Floor of the Cambria Hotel and to get to the deck you have to walk through the restaurant.

Times Bar & Coffee Shop was easily one of our favorite stops in Asheville…read more We were visiting from Florida over the Fourth of July and stopped in for a couple of cocktails from the '90s-themed menu. Every recommendation was spot on--even the radish cocktail that I wasn't sure about at first! What really stood out was the hospitality. We spent some time chatting with who we believe were the owners, hearing the story behind the bar and talking about Asheville. Those conversations made the experience just as memorable as the drinks. If you happen to remember the two Florida ladies who stopped in for a bit, thank you for making us feel so welcome. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Asheville. Highly recommend!

The space itself is incredibly cool, featuring exposed concrete, a massive back bar, a vintage print shop sign, and my personal favorite--a disco ball chandelier. The bartenders were so welcoming and fantastic to chat with during our visit. They were running a super fun '90s throwback menu while we were there. If it's still available when you drop in, definitely try the "Last Time Lover" and "Smells Like Green Spirit." The Last Time Lover even came with a nostalgic butterfly clip holding a Spice Girls photo! If you're a cocktail fan, I highly recommend this spot. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Asheville.

Hearty, delicious and satisfying food in a low-lit, noisy environment…read more This was our first visit to Bull and Beggar. The restaurant's decor is eccentric - lots of taxidermied wildlife, cookbooks, and (from our vantage point in the loft) giant jars of Duke's mayonnaise - and the food is worth going back for. I had the steak frites, my husband tried the pork chop Milanese, and we shared the marmalade tart. My filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the accompanying sauce was silky smooth and addictive. The fries were salty, crispy perfection. My husband gave his pork chop high marks as well. I tried a bit of the sweet pea salad served with it, and I was suddenly 4 years old, following my mom through the garden and eating more peas than I dropped into my little basket. Fresh, pure summer. The marmalade tart was a great way to end the meal. Perfect balance of bitter and sweet. One caveat: This may not be the place if you're looking for an evening of quiet conversation. The room's acoustics bounced every sound off of every wall, and the resulting cacophony made it hard to hear each other or our very kind and efficient server at times.
