I've been a long time client here at MercyOne Waukee. I was a patient of Dr. Brady's for a few…read moreyears and then moved to Dr. Bowshier when Dr. Brady left. No words I can write can do justice to how I feel about Dr. Bowshier. She is empathetic and listens...I feel she genuinely cares about me at a person. She also doesn't let me pull my normal stuff...which I need. She doesn't let me get lazy in my healthcare and holds my feet to the fire when she needs to. She understands that I want to be around for my family for as long as I can she supports me in this. Parking here is easy...it's a large lot. The staff at the front is always polite and easy to work with. Dr.Bowshier has had several nurses over the years I've been seeing her; all have been good people to work with. The phlebotomists drawing blood etc. for lab work are all great and really know what they are doing...and I'm a hard stick. I miss Cindy..., but got to give a shout out to Haley! Not a fan of the conversion over to Trinity and their processes...but I'll deal with it. Change is hard sometimes. Lol I can't recommend Dr. Bowshier and MercyOne Waukee enough!

I quit smoking…read morenearly 9 years ago, and thanks to Dr. Bowshier's consistent encouragement, I began taking advantage of the annual lung CT scans covered by Medicare. This year, one of those scans caught a small spot on my lung that hadn't been there before. After further testing, I was diagnosed with stage one lung cancer. Because it was found so early, a small portion of my lung was removed -- and I didn't need chemo or radiation. I am 100% convinced that Dr. Bowshier's proactive care saved my life. Her attentiveness, guidance, and genuine concern for her patients are truly exceptional. I will be forever grateful to her. Dr. Laura Bowshier is simply the best.

My daughter had been seen the week before and I requested they grab the insurance information from her account. They told me they could not do that because she was not present. She was actually waiting in my car so I asked her to come in and give permission to release insurance info so my son could be seen. They declined. I got frustrated at the situation. told them my son was in pain and to please just submit to the same insurance. they told me they would not do that. I asked to speak w a manager who told me the same. I left the clinic and went to another where my son was diagnosed w severe swimmers ear. The staff took the liberty of calling my ex husband who is also a doctor to laugh about the encounter, they denied my son medical attention for personal vindication. no professionalism or holding my sons medical need in any regard.

The staff listened to me describe and watched me show how these defects affect limited mobility. They then tailored the therapy and exercises so that I obtained good benefit from them. Saw Dr's and nueros all over the country and what gave me my life back? Tony in the pt department at this clinic. Literally gave me back the quality of life gone since my accident. Headaches are now few and far between and while I'm never going to be 100 percent I do have a damn good and productive life. A needle in the hands of a great therapist saved me from major surgery and got me off pain meds daily. No more gaba no prekocet no elivel no anything but a few Naproxsen a few times a week and I live a great life. I do have to have weekly maintenance and it's not a pleasurable treatment but I have my life back and there is no amount of gratitude I could ever show that would equal what I've been given They are amazing and you can't put a price on getting your life back Thanks guys. But smith in waukee is absolutely unthinkable. 3 times this doctor verbally abused me, shouting and making false accusations repeated over and over again. Then, she gets the current doctor scholz involved by spreading rumors and lying. I went for a med check, and scholz brings up medication that wasn't what she told me she was going to change. Then she picks up a bunch of papers, waves them in the air and said, what is this? If I had my wits about me, I would have said you acting crazy. This is a very immature gossipy bunch of women. I doubt that i'm the only one smith has verbally abused. If you were verbally abused by smith in waukee or west des moines put your note in here, the more people tell the less it's gonna happen. Neither of these doctors understands what FM LA is or how it works or what accommodations ate Or how those work, they'd rather gossip and come up with their own weird imaginations. Remember everyone's behavior is their own choice including doctors. Smith eventually kicked me out of her clinic because I was five minutes late. The rule is ten minutes. I've waited for her up to an hour.

He always is cheerful and is concerned about my care.He keeps me posted as to my needs in vaccinations and my overall general health. The clinic staff is great too,always checking me in promptly and the waiting area is clean and large so you can social distance.
