Google results and previous recent use of a UPS access point location within this business sent me…read moreon a wild goose chase to the now former location of Yessie's at 17 Broadway Plaza and 19 Broadway Plaza in Peru. Those two addresses enter into one store with a hodgepodge of gallons of cleaning supplies and God only knows what else. While messy and operations seemed unorganized, I did drop a package for UPS there in July 2025 with a young woman who scanned it instantly and sent me a text confirmation with tracking. I was not able to retrieve the package which UPS told me would be there for pickup. As soon as I left, I saw on my doorbell cam that my regular UPS driver was attempting to redeliver. Another chase to find him once I was back in my neighborhood... But I digress. I returned to the tax preparation place within the cleaning supply whatever it is business in Broadway Plaza and discovered the UPS access point had been moved. The women inside directed me to a sign made with a printer on the door which gave the new address of 16 E 5th Street, Suite 1 in downtown Peru. This is actually a building full of mostly law offices near the courthouse. Once inside, I was met with a confused looking man moving boxes to my right as well as a woman to my left/straight ahead through the suite door at a desk who I am now assuming is Yessie herself. I asked if this was a UPS drop-off. She saw my box in my arms and asked "Does it need to go out right away?" Smack my head. Of course it does... She said the man who had the ability to scan it wouldn't be in until Monday, November 3rd. The person with me recalled the poorly made sign on the Broadway Plaza door said moving November 1st. I ended up having to stand outside the courthouse where there is a UPS drop box and wait for the driver to arrive. The box said it hadn't been picked up yet and that it would be at 5. He was nine or ten minutes late and not as friendly as my regular driver but took my box nonetheless. He didn't scan it in front of me, but I have confirmation it is indeed on its way to its urgent destination. The UPS box at the courthouse is handy but can't accommodate a box that size. There is also a UPS drop box in Broadway Plaza outside a boarded up former bank building behind Burger King. I don't trust that box. That plaza is looking rough, and I already have trouble with every blue USPS mailbox in Peru and have to take things directly inside the post office or hand them to my carrier. I include all of this in hopes it will help someone else with UPS issues, as it took me a lot of research and footwork to find where the heck to go in this town. As for Yessie's tax services, I have no idea what her abilities are there. However, after my experience inside both of her locations, new and old, as well as her absurd question about the package's urgency, I wouldn't personally put my trust in this business to do my taxes. I'll continue to do them myself. It just doesn't seem professional in appearance nor organized at all. So many homemade signs at both locations making it look confusing and akin to a flea market. The website for this business still shows the old address as well as a photo of the old location. Google is not updated. It's not an accommodating choice when needing to ship via UPS to use this access point for drop off when the entire premise is that it should be convenient. This town is beyond backwards and inconvenient at nearly every turn.
