Lebanese Food Festival - Lebanese festival 2022! Food brings everyone together!

I bought enough tickets to try almost everything on the menus. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate to-go. I will definitely be back to the next one!

Food, drink, and food lines were short and moved quick. If you need some air conditioning, head inside for some fun dancing and music. This was my first experience with Lebanese food, and it was quite good, but I wish there were more choices. It just seemed there weren't a lot of options available. They had beer - Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, one more domestic that I don't recall, but if you wanted a Lebanese beer, you had to go to the wine booth for some reason. It was a pilsner for $2 more than the domestic beers. It was good, but honestly, it tasted like any other pilsner from any other place in the world. They had two or three types of wine from Lebanon also. Bottom line is that it was a fun event on beautiful grounds, and was well organized. Everything from parking to entrance, coupon purchasing, and food and drink purchasing (here's a plus - they have indoor bathrooms with running water!) The Bazaar was ok, but 99% of it was jewelry. I will go again.

Culinaria Festival Week - Bubbles: Thu 17 May 18 La Cantera poolside party

From there, it was a quick walk up to the Topaz pool where music, food and drinks were served al Fresca by the pool. Being able to sample quick bites from renowned local San Antonio restaurants was such a pleasure! Some offerings included Grayze, Belgian Frites, Kirby's, H-E-B, Topaz and many more! French and Spanish champagne along with mixed sampling were available at your convenience. The gorgeous view of the pool and sunset with the ambience of music and chatter made the entire event fun, relaxing and a great party!

I've been to a few culinaria events before and I had stopped going due to food/drinks running out early and being smushed against a crowd of people with little to no walking room. That was not the case for the Tequila event. I almost don't want to share how much fun this was because I want to attend again next year and I hope the event is organized in the same way and has the same amount of people! Guests were instructed to park in the La Cantera Mall parking lot where a shuttle picked us up promptly (they ran every few minutes). Once we arrived at the hotel's banquet room there we were greeted by friendly staff and (this is the best part) there were several people at the registration table to make the check in process run smoothly and get people checked in quickly! Thank you for having appropriate lighting inside the ballroom. I hate it when they put the lights on full blast and it ruins the ambiance. The room was set up with dozens of food and alcohol tasting booths. I appreciated that we were not crushed together like sardines instead and that there was plenty of room to walk around and enjoy your beverage/food. My only recommendation is to have more high top tables even though everyone was so friendly and welcoming to strangers joining them at open spaces at the tables. Let me start off by saying wow, the food and drinks were delicious. Each vendor came with a quality dish and I appreciate that they spent time educating the audience on the ingredients and the process of the tequila and mezcal. Not only did they have straight tequila and mezcal tastings they also had cocktails available to try and let me tell you they had some truly tasty cocktails. I had several throughout the night that I loved but the two favorites for me were the La Fogata margarita (after all these years they still hold up in quality and taste) and Patron's Pomegranate Hibiscus Margarita (it has kombucha in it!) - I went back for seconds, thirds, and fourths. The ingredients in each of those cocktails really highlights and complements the tequila. Some of the food highlights included: Jason Dady's Street Corn in a Cup (Simple yet bursting with flavor) Vegetarian Mole Enchiladas Tacos Al Pastor Throughout the evening they had a band play and a lovely dance folklorico (traditional Mexican dance) performance. Thank you, Fernanda, for coordinating our attendance. I had a fabulous time and we stayed until the lights came on!

The small fenced-off area is across from the UTSA Football training field and has a bag check at front. Boots are recommend as the grass is not mowed down, so might as well fit in with the country vibe! It's great place to bring out the kids and visit the booths around the perimeter. There was a really wide range of merchandise and foods vendors, but also some great food trucks...and tacos from Truck'n Taco! There is a mechanical bull station, a main stage with plenty of room to put out some lawn chairs, and beers on ice so what's not to like! The parking was FREE for everyone attending the event, which I thought it was a plus, because most Fiesta events have zero parking or you have to pay extra for it. The festival had everything from Fiesta flowers and hats, to delicious Fiesta food and other local vendors. They also had a bull, for anyone brave enough to ride it. A pro-tip for everyone attending is to bring your own chair! There's no chairs or sitting areas (unless you have the VIP ticket), so it's better to bring your own to the event. This event benefits the San Antonio Parks Foundation, which helps keep alive and clean all of our beautiful parks around the city.
