I'm sorry but when there are multiple communications about time frames and then you try to blame me (the customer) for the issue, there is a huge problem. I spoke to a manager (I think Caitlin) to cancel my event 2 MONTHS in advance when I realized that the time frame would just not work for us and she was extremely rude, essentially placing the blame on me. Sorry, but you are the manager and for you to try to place blame on a customer and not even try to take any level of accountability etc. then there is an issue. The way she ended the phone call was rude and unprofessional. She legitimately stated to me in a rude SARCASTIC WAY "good luck finding another company for your event". Sounding as if I wouldn't be able to... oh man, she was wrong because not only did I find another company for this event but that company has already been 100% better. Another perfect example of why I would NOT recommend this company for your Murder Mystery event. Also, not to mention that they over charge for a service when there are many other options that are better, more affordable, better at communication and willing to make sure it works for OUR event.

All the World's a Stage…read more.. ...but you'll find the best performances at the TB Sheldon. Set your phones to silent, grab some popcorn, and peek with me behind the red velvet curtains of this historic theater. Affectionately known by locals as "The Jewel Box" of Red Wing, the Sheldon's impressively ornate interior would upstage that of many other theaters. The lobby makes a dramatic entrance, and the auditorium steals the show with gorgeous murals, and gold and ivory plaster sculptures adorning the walls. The Sheldon's history is as dramatic as its decor, the building having survived two fires and an explosion that blew off the roof. Opening its doors in 1904, it hosted Vaudeville shows travelling through from Chicago to Minneapolis in its early years, and later converted to a movie house. Now it showcases live performances and lectures, as well as playing classic movies like Gone with the Wind. I fondly remember performing here in my teens, electricity in the air as we waited for our cue, hoping not to break a leg en pointe. Most recently I watched the amazing musical Glensheen here, and it brought down the house! A Sheldon experience is always magical for the audience and performers alike. This theater is a destination unto itself, and is certainly a tough act to follow. I give it 5 rounds of applause!

I've been wanting to get to a show for the last year and we finally got tickets to an Andy and Bing Christmas. Mick Sterling and Ben Utecht hosted the event with toe-tapping songs throughout the night. I haven't seen Mick since he was signing Joe Cocker's 'You Can Leave Your Hat On' at Bunkers Bar. It was great to hear his voice again. They played for at least two hours with a small intermission. Great show. The theatre is beautiful and so full of character. The intimacy of the place makes any seat a great one. I'll definitely be back for another show.

We had had a terrible experience trying to deal with a different company originally and we ended up having to find another company and I am so so glad we found the Mystery Cafe. First off, Brian, who is the owner, was just fantastic all around, responsive, accommodating, kind, and organized. The night of the actual performance, I did not feel nervous at all, he and I had communicated multiple times and also already tested all of the electronics weeks prior to the event, it went off without a hitch. It was fun because it did require audience participation, but it was not too high pressure and they made the atmosphere just so light and exciting and it was FUNNY! There was so much humor and I found myself laughing a lot more than I had thought that I would. 10/10 would recommend. They came to our event, there were 3 actors and I must say, I think that the cost was very fair and reasonable. Great time!

The shows are always thought provoking and intimate. The main stage is always surrounded by seating with viewers close enough to reach out and touch the cast members. The theater offers concessions and beverages to consume during the shows, however this has been suspended during the pandemic. From the street the theater is part of a strip mall on Osseo and isn't anything remarkable. Parking is plentiful and fairly well lit. The theater still requires proof of vac, and that patrons wear masks. Being in a high risk category, I appreciate the precautions! Yellow Tree is a great local theater worthy of your attention! Give it a try and have some fun! Photos aren't allowed, so none have been included.

The paranormal team there was very warm and friendly as well as accomodating (Thank you, Lisa, especially!) We experienced lots of scary moments, and the activities held our interest as well as our enthusiasm. We especially enjoyed the ghost hunt and investigation! I so appreciate the good time that the staff there showed my daughter. She said she still can't stop talking about it; said she's obsessed with it now, and tells everyone all about our night there! We're both looking so forward to doing it again and my daughter, Christy said, "And next time I won't be so scared! I'll be able to keep my eyes open through the whole thing!" (She's so adorable.) My husband and I had been to the theater back in October on a ghost tour and we, too, had so much fun there together! In addition to that, we attended the Twin Cities Gangs History movie there; we enjoyed it immensely! There's not only the paranormal part of the theater activities, but there is an incredible amount of history there to be enjoyed, and appreciated. We so hope to see the Historic Mounds Dinner Theater maintained and supported by the public for another hundred years! Thank you again, especially to you, Lisa! You're super! ~Jeanie F. and Christy F.
