I was moving to the music, although it appeared that this section of Minnesota was not interested in this musical quality of the artist. And people around me were Minnesota'nice'. I understand what Minnesota nice is : ambivalence and lack of respect, for anyone is not in 'their' group!

The play itself was well done...I went in thinking that a one lady play was going to have a hard time entertaining for 90 minutes...but I was surprised. Seats are comfortable and have good leg room and not really a bad seat in the place. I also love the addition of the concert hall for smaller events. Staff are always helpful and friendly. The bars always do a fun drink that rotates for the show at the time. Do yourself a favor and pre-order a drink for intermission if you plan to have refreshments at that time. The one drawback here is parking. The ramps aren't super close (although, they're within an easy walk) and street parking in this area is always chaos, so give yourself plenty of time before your show to find space. If you haven't had the chance to enjoy and event here, get yourself to the Ordway!

I came here with my partner to watch "The Butler Did It". It's a great theatre in downtown St…read more Paul. The show itself was excellent, although I didn't understand all the references. The actors were very talented and I could tell the writer had a love for this inverse detective genre. It is a bit sad how quiet downtown St Paul is now, but I appreciated that the theatre was trying to partner with local businesses with som coupons to encourage you to patronize not just them. The show also seemed to have great attendance! Parking was not too bad. There are many lots in the area. I would not use ParkHero if you're going on a weekday -- it's not too busy and it's cheaper to pay at any of the downtown lots rather than reserving through the app.

The restrooms were clean when I visited at the start of the evening. I'd come back for shows considering it's so small. The only complaint, exit was slow and crowded even though there were plenty of exit options but they were kept close, leaving one bottle-neck exit out the main doors.

The theater is located in downtown Saint Paul with lots of neighboring restaurants and bars if you want to pre or post show party. There is no designated parking area but there is paid street parking (free on Sundays and after 10pm) as well as plenty of paid parking lots and ramps nearby. There is a slightly raised platform with a railing that I always try to snag a spot at as it offers a great view (especially for us short people). Most of my pics are taken from that exact spot. The floor can get pretty cramped but most of the crowds I've encountered have been very friendly. The theater itself is old but beautiful. The upstairs area shows exposed beams and bricks which I think adds to the charm!

Performance review:…read more I paid for a ticket to see their spring show, which was delightful! It's too bad they don't use a local theater tho, bc the sight lines are not great. The performance was in their regular studio, with some risers, but not enough to be able to see the dancers' feet most of the time. Still, I enjoyed myself and I like to support local arts. I'm 99% sure that I was the only ticket purchased by someone who didn't know a performer. They had concessions, which were pay cash for tickets and then trade tickets for food (and maybe games?) But either someone didn't do the math well, or they were just being really weird bc they made us buy tickets in a number that we had leftovers but couldn't use them...without buying even more.

My music education does not extend much beyond piano lessons as youngester, but I know good music when I hear it and delight in an evening when I can watch talented locals perform Vivaldi and Hayden in an in a pretty casual venue. My favorite part of this group, besides the harpsichord and the delightful incredibly well executed baroque tunes is the crowd. The patrons are serious music buffs and come from all walks of life. You also cannot underdress for a performance: come as you are and sit back and relax. I guarantee you will leave feeling lighter and brighter... Best part is if you are a student, tickets are ONLY $6. Otherwise, prices go up to $23, which I still believe is a pretty great deal compared to the still fun but more stuffy crowd at the Minnesota Orchestra for example (and bonus: no booming Tympani drum!). General seating. You can always get tickets at the door.
