NO NO NO I cannot overstate how bad this place is. Zero stars. This place is horrible, do not order. I got the veggie dinner plate and it's absolutely awful. The spinach pie has about a tablespoon of unseasoned spinach, the grape leaves are desiccated on the outside and slimy inside. They smell horrible too. The tabbouleh is bland with incredibly tough parsley and really hot onion, plus - you'll see a trend here - NO FLAVOR. Hummus literally has no taste, falafel is - you know it - flavorless and tough as hell. Pita is cold,tough, and weirdly shaped. The lentil soup is viscous and nasty. The 'baklava' - no flavor. If I was eating in, I could at least get my money back. I'm throwing out my entire dinner. Just stay away. read more

Hello Shawarma remains in Hamtramck, but has changed their location to Caniff. The restaurant now has a dine-in option along with their Carryout Service. The interior is still a work in progress, but is still inviting. They seem to offer complimentary tea. Along with a beef shawarma, I ordered a single beef kabob skewer. It came with grilled veg, pita bread and garlic sauce. The shawarma was smaller than it was originally. It was still very tasty and well cooked. However, the Kabob was very disappointing. The portion was extremely small, especially one of the pieces of meat was slightly bigger than a quarter. The meat was also very chewy. The grilled vegetables contained onion, carrot and zucchini. The small slices of onion we're so burnt they were inedible. The other vegetables were okay, although not seasoned. I would probably return for the shawarma, because of the flavors. I would never again order the kabob. At a price of almost $10, it was not worth the money. read more

It doesn't look like much when u pass by, looks like a normal restaurant or typical arabic fast food but its not. Its a place where you can actually enjoy authentic arabic food without going broke. The owner stands at the counter and makes sure all his customers are well taken care off. The food is dangerously good specially their special shawarma and pizza's . The place is super clean and the food is super fresh. This place is a diamond in a ruff. My full recommendation and trust me you won't regret. Kiddos to the owner and the chef. read more

I've only ordered from them twice but both times have been perfectly delivered! First time I tried the chicken shawarma with the Hello sauce and it was too hot but very good. The second time I ordered a chicken shawarma with extra sauce on the side and it was perfect, a meat sandwich with lamb and it was pretty good, and the third sandwich was a lamb gyro. The gyro didn't look nearly as good as any other gyro I've had but it was soooo damn good! The sauce, the meat, the pita, and the toppings were all the best I've ever tasted! This place is hands down amazing! Everything on their menu is flavorful and delicious -- from the deboned chicken, hello fries, to any beef shawarma dish. Good food for a cheap price. I got a container full of fries and a shawarma for around $8.85. Two critiques I can give is the fries and the sauce. The fries could either use a better seasoning like what Bishr (a poultry place around the corner) uses or better fries. The sauces costs extra which I don't really like but it was whatever. If you only have $20 to spend, then it's worth it. This food didn't have much flavor. I got the sampler platter for 1, it was $16.99. They give you alot of food but I was not impressed. The tabbouleh was sooooo bland. My meal had too much rice and not enough meat. The fattoush salad was the best part. Tasty shawarmas at great prices. They have a special called "gatherings" which is 3 saj sandwiches and 3 shawarma, fries, and sauce for 19.99. My favorites are the Hello Chicken shawarma and the chicken cream chop shawarma. The only issue is that sometimes the sandwiches end up on the greasy side, especially the ones made with pita bread.
