All three of them collaborated very well together. We used AK Events as our wedding planner to find vendors and as a day of coordinator. Before the Wedding: We had many meetings at a local Panera Bread before our wedding. Andrew was punctual at the meetings and displayed the packages he had to offer at the first meeting. Andrew assured us that we were in good hands. He seemed experienced in wedding coordination and confident in what he was doing. Andrew recommended awesome vendors such as videography by NXT Frame Media and flowers by Leafy Floral Design. Day of Wedding: Andrew and his team transformed the church reception. We couldn't recognize the church at all because it was decorated well with drapery and pink lighting. I don't have any pictures yet, but I will post them once I get them. The day of coordination went smoothly as possible. The wedding was supposed to start at 4:00 p.m. but because the presence of 70% wedding guests did not happen till 4:15 p.m., we did not start until that time which is not bad at all. The wedding timeline went accordingly to the one Andrew proposed. In fact, the wedding ended about an hour earlier at 7:30 p.m. which was perfect since we needed to clean up the reception at a certain time for the church. My dad complimented about MC Steve. He speaks Korean and English which was a plus for our wedding guests. MC Steve made our wedding fun with games and his positive energy. Grace was also a crucial component to our wedding. She was very sweet and organized. She would make sure that my husband and I were doing well throughout the wedding. She helped give out the bouquets and boutonnieres. As for the DJ, Andrew was the DJ. He did a great job at DJing along with being the head coordinator of our wedding. AK Events helped decorate a photo table and guest table which looked absolutely beautiful. We got to keep the frames after the wedding which we set up in our house. He made our wedding beautiful and offered to go out of his way to make our wedding perfect. His draping is such a beauty that i cant explain in a few words!! Andrew's lighting service is awesome and such a beauty. My wedding was at church but with andrew's draping + lighting service made it seem like my wedding was at a five-star hotel. I love his service and his prompt meetings!! He will make himself available for you anytime and answer all your questions!! His email + text + call is prompt and his price is affordable. His price is flexible and he will take care of your event/wedding, like it's his event/wedding. I do strongly recommend andrew to be your next event coordinator. The thought of spending more on a…read moredress than I spend on rent gives my hives, as do expensive cakes with gross crisco-y frosting, the cake cutting fees that accompany them, bad-tasting "signature cocktails," the thought of making all my single friends shuffle their feet awkwardly during a bouquet toss, and DJs who play that song where grown-ass people must make their hands into quacking ducks. So after an elopment attempt was foiled (long story) and the mister and I decided to have a wedding, we decided we'd do it our way. We got married in the front yard of our friend's house and had the reception in the backyard. Now, as it turns out, planning an at-home wedding is annoying, yes, and planning a non-traditional at home wedding is exponentially annoying. This is where Sharlene Griffith came in. She was amazing with vendors; we got deals that would make the folks at bridal expos weep. She turned my friend's backyard into the most magical wedding venue I've ever been to, practically did all the floral stuff herself, never winced when I selected the cheapest option for everything, and she even put up with my crazy reinvent-the-wedding-wheel ideas and even threw in some of her own. And the food (tacos! ceviche! spanish wines! etc! best cupcakes ever! for 1/10 the price of one of those stuffy ballroom food places) was amazing. My guests still talk about it. My husband and I were dancing at our wedding and saying to each other "wow, this really is the best day I've ever had" which was a surprise to two cynics like us. Many people told me it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. And they were right.Thanks Sharlene!

    Sharlene Griffith Designs and Associates (SGD) the Paramour unprofessionally handled our…read moreexpectations and investments. TOP 10 PROBLEMS 1) During the post-ceremony photo session and before we could greet our guests on the lawn for cocktail hour, SGD told us guests moved into the dining room because it was hot and they had no where to sit. However, our guests told me they enjoyed the lawn but were told to go inside by SGD. This was also against our wedding schedule. 2) Communication with SGD and their coordination with vendors was inefficient and led to more work for us. 3) Nearly every major vendor I was referred by SGD was replaced within 10 days of the wedding. 4) After five months and several requests for a formal agreement to finalize the cost for SGD as our wedding coordinators, I was handed a contract for double the agreed upon amount. SGD later said this was an error from a repurposed contract. (See No. 2.) 5) SGD created an arbitrary "cleaning fee" when no such fee existed in our contract. 6) SGD got a phone call the morning after our wedding to remind us to return our unused alcohol by 12 noon for reimbursement. SGD neglected to share that intel until 4PM. 7) SGD quoted us a discounted rate for our security guard, to court us as clients for the venue. Two weeks after the ceremony, SGD and The Paramour sent us an invoice at a higher rate for hours that were't worked by the security guard. 8) Though our reception ended at the agreed upon hour, SGD charged us a penalty for being on property overtime. SGD masked that penalty with the security invoice. There was no mention of a penalty in our contract. 9) At 11 PM without notice, the overhead lights on the dance-floor came on hard prom night style. 10) Without our permission, The Paramour hired to a private photographer to document our costly ceremony rentals to feature the venue. SGD explained the night before the wedding that she would be reconfiguring my ceremony design for this photo session, and that I should be happy about this publicity. If this review helps one person avoid the experience I had, then I have been a responsible consumer. Now, back to wedded bliss.

We booked her early-she was our first vendor booked-which was the best call as I loved having someone I could go to to help me verify vendors, suggest design options, and answer other random planning questions throughout my 1 1/2 year-long engagement. Most notably was how Claudia handled the extreme weather that caused us to have to change venues, 2 days before our wedding. She very nimbly helped me translate our existing layout and communicate our decisions and preferences to the venue. I'm so thankful that she orchestrated an outdoor ceremony, which was my goal, and designed the most beautiful interpretation of my dream in a completely new space. Finally, Claudia was kind and lighthearted throughout the entire process, but has exactly the type of direct forward, take-charge manner that is so needed when coordinating a wedding!
