This place is so dirty. The living room seemed clean upon move in, but my room was noticeably full…read moreof dust on the edges and corners with several stains to the carpet. And my bathroom was grimy and uncleaned with a brush full of hair in a target plastic bag under the sink. I don't think they cleaned at all, they just expect the prior resident college student to do it. Therefore, I didn't find it necessary to dust every inch and mr. clean the bathroom before move out, it just felt right leaving it how I found it. And I wanted to save my mr. clean sponge for my new place in case I needed it like I did here (I didn't cuz they have an actual cleaning service like every other property does). Also, I was never told that I would be charged ridiculously for not cleaning or taking a penny out of a drawer, otherwise I would've dusted and scrubbed everything and not donate a penny. Additionally, the outside was dirty, uncleaned cat litter on the steps for months, wasp nests and spiders everywhere, and super thin walls. I loved having loud talking people outside or roommates inside keeping me from sleep. My window let all the cold air in making my room freezing in the winter and it let moisture in which formed a nice amount of mold around it. Front desk is nice and I like the fully furnished piece, but it's not enough. There's plenty of better/cleaner/better value apartments in Lawrence.

I really liked the kitchen, the appliances were nice. Some units have bigger fridges than others, not sure why. The bathroom was fine but it seems like maybe most units don't have a drain stopper so I never took a bath, only showers. It worked for my lifestyle though. I really liked that I could submit maintenance requests and pay through the Resident Portal App. It was also nice that they set up all utilities, wifi, and other fees like trash to be included. So in the app I see rent, utilities, communications, and whatever fees I have selected to be added like renters insurance or credit lift. It was so great that I didn't have to set up my own service through MIDCO or Evergy. I also didn't have to worry about paying them. I just paid Apple Lane (now Orchard Corners Studios). I wasn't a fan of community laundry but it was reliable. It cost about $2 for one washing machine and $2 for one drying machine. My only other issue is just that I think the price is too high given how small the space is and the lackluster amenities. You can expect to pay about $900 a month total. The pool is small. The fitness center is even smaller and has very little equipment. 3 people in the space was a very tight uncomfortable squeeze. Regardless though my apartment was nice. Living by myself was great. I had everything I needed including easy access to campus buses. I never bought a parking pass at KU. Maintenance was usually very quick but I also didn't need to put in tons of requests. I think this is a great place to live and definitely allowed my to succeed in college with less stress. I have lots of memories of this place that I will always cherish : )

For those who know little about the history of native people, this museum is a great starting point. Museum hours vary, as it is often student run, so be sure to call ahead. Admission is free. Non-native visitors are, of course, welcome. A trip to the Lawrence area is not complete without a visit to this museum and the Haskell campus.

The apartment had not been touched with any type of cleaning crew when we moved in and the mold in every vent, the holes in the walls, and the cracks in the base boards (which the roaches seem to love coming out of) we have all had to fix ourselves. We tried to break the lease because our apartment was uninhabitable and were told that we each had to pay 3500$ to leave this shit hole. Above all, fuck Victor. He is not only weird but you can catch him in at least four lies during every conservation you have with him. We are only here for three more months and thank god for that.

The communication was great, I spoke with Renee and she was always informative and answered my questions in a timely manner. The gentleman that came out to measure answered all of my questions, and was very professional and nice. The installers were also exceptionally kind, professional and knew what they were doing. We had our counters taken out by them and had hiMax counters installed, which is like Corian. They arrived on time, were respectful, tidy and clean and did a beautiful job. I would use them again.
