This is hot, humid, rainy Maine in the summer. I reiterated I was an existing customer and tried to impress on her that this was somewhat urgent and asked for a sooner date. I was told there was nothing sooner but she would escalate to a manager who would call me. 2 days later, I haven't received a call.... In the meantime, I called LaPlante Home Services who said they could be here in under 48 hours. They were polite and seemed excited that I called. The technician arrived at exactly the appointed time, did a thorough analysis of my problem, and completed the work in a little over an hour. The technician was friendly, courteous and professional. I have worked with 2 sales associates and was lied to by each one. I was told not to get a solar…read morebackup because fuel was better when I found out from the surveyor that Suncovia wasn't offering backup generators yet. I was then transferred to work with another sales rep Named Dallas afterwards who tried to tell me to just purchase my own on amazon for 350 dollars even though they now claim they offer backup batteries. I was also told I would own my own panels for 328/mo when my original loan was for 280 but it was because I was getting newer panels and more panels. I countered the price and knew the numbers were already slightly below my current usage by a few Kwh and they then reduced my rate to 316 and still claimed 100% coverage but lowered the rate by reducing the number of panels on my roof. Dallas then mentioned he got the rate down to 280ish a month but I would pay an annual 2.9% rate increase which wasn't in my original quote with the gentleman named Gavin. I did my research and found out that Suncovia does PPA solar usage leases as well with such rate annual rate increases but Dallas did not make me aware of the switch from financing to own to then leasing such panels. As one of the former top insurance sales agents for GEICO in the past, this is in my opinion, very unprofessional and makes me question the integrity of Suncovia's employees. I was also constantly pressured to close the same day without being given all the info and have a soft credit check done even though I had already had one done within less than a month with them when I worked with the previous agent. BUYER BEWARE when it comes to MAINTENANCE: If your solar panels need servicing, you're screwed…read more Here is our story: We got our solar panels last October. Installation when smoothly. However on July 10th 8 solar panels went out in our home array (less than a year after installation). We called GoodLeap LLC who was supposed to be in charge of maintenance...they told us to call Suncovia. It took us multiple attempts with Suncovia's answering service to get a call back (a week later). In addition to calling the answering service I emailed and I filled out a contact form on Suncovia's website...just for Suncovia to tell me I needed to go back to GoodLeap. GoodLeap reluctantly opens a service case, and then tells me I need to wait for Suncovia to contact me for a service appointment...I contacted GoodLeap again when I heard nothing from Suncovia; GoodLeap said there is nothing they can do but wait. That was a week ago...still no word from either company. No one takes responsibility for these once they are up. So the month we are supposed to be banking our energy credits for winter, our array is dysfunctional. We did everything we were told told to do...still nothing, and we are trapped in the lease. Wait for another opportunity...don't take Suncovia or any other solar company.
