My range of motion was extremely limited initially, but with treatment, exercises, dry needling, and Jadyn's incredibly attentive care, I was off to a great start. After my first three visits, I continued my treatment with Dr. Lauren, and I cannot sing her praises enough! Lauren knows exactly when to push me just to the edge while still listening to my body, and she has helped me make such incredible progress. I still have some strengthening to do, but I honestly couldn't be happier with how I feel now compared with when this pain first began. One of the biggest things I'm grateful for is that I was able to start physical therapy immediately rather than spending weeks waiting for appointments, imaging, an orthopedic referral, and then ultimately a referral to PT. The pain was horrible, and I can't imagine having to live with it for several more weeks before beginning treatment. I'm so thankful I knew I could go directly to PT and get started right away. First, they tried to ignore severe pain and muscle spams due to nerve damage in my hip that…read moreoccurred during my knee replacement surgery as "a little soreness after surgery." I had to force the issue of effectively treating the situation and it still took them 10 days before they bothered to do the correct treatment that should have been done on postop day 2. This borders on malpractice. Secondly, when I was asked, I told them that I expected to be walking without a cane after surgery. I had been forced to use a cane for about 5-6 years prior to surgery due to safety concerns and the need to preserve what I could of being able to use the knee. My expectation of being able to walk normally was completely ignored. Instead, when I tried to walk without the cane, I was told to keep using the cane. This continued throughout my entire time in rehab. Somehow they thought that using the cane was going to help me be able to walk without it. Even I don't think that's right!! This means that I couldn't really walk when they decided to dismiss me from their care. They didn't care about getting to the correct place; all they cared about was that I could stand and waddle around a little with the cane. That is not good rehabilitation. It is coming up on a year since my surgery and I still cannot walk normally because they never appropriately addressed the problems in my hips that were caused by the use of the cane. Basically they expected me to figure it out on my own. I am going to have to go to a different doctor (not one who is part owner of this facility) and a different PT place in order to get proper medical care. I find that disgusting. I will never recommend this PT facility to anyone. At this point I am unsure if I will ever be able to return to my sport. They do not care about performance. Do they even know what that word means? They only care about money.

I've been seeing Dr. Riekenberg for almost a year and I don't know how to begin to sing her praises. I have chronic back issues and my neck hadn't moved in 70 years! LOL!! She is so patient, thorough, and gentle. She uses a theragun and a few other little gadgets that loosen things up. She also does manipulations on my scalp that feel absolutely wonderful. She keeps such thorough notes and so always remembers what our previous visits entailed. On top of that, I often have to bring my three-year-old granddaughter along and Dr. Riekenberg is just incredible with her! Again, she is so kind, patient and loving. I've been to several other chiropractic offices in the area but they are nothing like First Choice! In addition to everything else, I've never had an issue with insurance (Medicare). The entire process with First Choice is just how medical care should be!

I'll admit I was skeptical but the pain was so strong I figured a chiropractor was better than popping painkillers. After a 30 minute appointment, which included an evaluation and a few taps, (no cracking or popping of bones) I was all better. !! Two weeks later I started feeling the same kind of pain (lower back/hips) so I went back. Prior to this I had never been to a chiropractor but I've been impressed...Not sure what I'll do after the pregnancy but this experience has been eye-opening for me. The office is clean and the administrator (Mackenzie) is nice.

The aquatherapy with Ian at PAM is excellent!…read more This was my 2nd experience with physical therapy, but Ian's inventiveness led me to learn many different movements I can do in the water to strengthen my core (which he showed me how to find next to my navel) muscles in a fun way. My first workout was mild, but Ian built the intensity slowly over several sessions, so that the last 2 sessions I had left me feeling the endorphins for about 24 hours after the workouts, which is so close to being completely pain free so that even my husband noticed how much happier I was after the aquatherapy. Do NOT let fear of the water intimidate you from taking advantage of this wonderful resource! In the same way race horses are toned in water tanks for racing, you can rebuild your strength with aquatherapy! And, lastly, the folks at the front desks are always friendly and happy to see you, even though this facility is quite busy with patients who stay and patients that come daily. I am so glad I was willing to drive the 50 minutes it takes me to get there for these sessions every week.
