The instructors I've tried are Moujan, Shelby, Jessica,& Liz.
I only do or at least try to do Non-Heated Classics instead of Sculpt due to my scoliosis,
Classics is more slow paced focusing on form, it's still as hard but having a disability or injury i would prefer Classics so i don't feel pain.
If you do have scoliosis and have constant pain,Pilates is a great way for the pain to go away. You just have to be consistent.
I was recommended to do Pilates 4-5 times a week.
The classes are 50 minutes.
Grip socks are mandatory, please wear them or buy them.
For heated classes mat towels are required, if you're a first timer, they give you one but after that you can rent a mat towel, buy one from them or get your own.
They provide complimentary face towels.
There's 2 bathrooms one of them has a shower for disability and another shower room with 2 more showers with shampoo/conditioner/body wash included.
They also do have a water bottle refillable station with water cups incase you forget to bring your own.
The owner Moujan makes events like Women's wellness where you get informed about your own body, Hokm game nights ( Ancient Iranian game ) and Sound Bath + Mat Pilates, Mommy & Me Pilates.
Hokm Game nights are $15, no Pilates just food bites, drinks and a good time. I tried it as someone who doesn't know how to play cards in general and I'm not Iranian but i love getting to know other cultures than my own, hosted by Befarma as well. I love meeting new people, so this was an amazing night of going out and getting to know something new.
Sound Bath + Mat Pilates, it is still 50 minutes. The first 25 minutes is mat Pilates and the other 25 were just laying down and relaxing to the sound bath instruments. The description of this class is to bring a pillow and blanket and i brought my bed sized one and I didn't use it only because i was dripping sweat everywhere and i felt gross putting a blanket over me with a pillow too, if you bring a pillow and a blanket, bring a smaller pillow, it looked like i was gonna spend the night with my bed sized pillow.
Mommy and Me classes, is the only one I haven't been to but this is for the mommies that have their babies accompany them to a Pilates class.
As for the regular classes, the first few minutes of class is a warm up building up to the actual workout and the last 5 minutes of class is a cool down/stretch.
I always let the instructor of my class know i have scoliosis before the class starts. Even with my scoliosis i still do all the workouts i just have to make sure i have good form so it doesn't hurt my back.
As for the instructors, every single one i named in the beginning are amazing and a killer workout each and every time.
But these are just special mentions ! :)
Shelby, every time i go to her class before class starts she takes her time talking to everyone that's already in the room. She likes taking her time counting and counts the same number for a few times, that's when the side eye begins.
Jessica, i always live for her cool down motivational speeches.
Moujan, her care for every one in the studio is outstanding. You can tell how much she loves the studio and MOOSH ! read more
