The female working the register asked if my son was 21 and I replied no, but he wasn't buying anything anyway. From that point on she was more concerned with him than helping me. Is it against the law for someone under 21 to be in a cigar shop with a parent? If so, then I know a bunch of people who have broken the law all across the country. Should have left without buying anything, but the next closest cigar shop is quite a ways away. Bad experience from a customer service point of view. The cigars we got were pretty good however.

It is now a multi-vendor antique/collectible store. It is really fun and interesting to browse. Some items can be expensive, and others are reasonable- it all depends on the seller. One thing is for sure, there is a TON to look at here, and spread across multiple floors. FYI it is not handicap accessible; you will not be able to view the upper floor if you are in a wheelchair. There is free popcorn, which is kind of a neat gimmick, and I really appreciated it. It might keep your kids quiet long enough for you to do some hard-core browsing. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

I knew the shopping in Cooperstown wasn't going to bring many, if any, bargains so I was just hoping to find some cool stuff. I spent a LONG time in Mickey's, but walked out with just a single item...a new Brooklyn Dodgers cap. They had a great selection of clothing, caps and memorabilia, but the hat was all that came home with me. I'll be back someday...

I received one of the Mets '62 heritage series hats which was a little small and came with a soft brim instead of the firmer brim I was familiar on New Era hats. Clyde responded to my email the very next day and explained that older versions of these hats had softer brims. He then located the next size up in the newer version with the firmer brim and waived the shipping to send it back out to me. I also picked up one of the NY Giants Heritage hats. These are 50% wool and 50% polyester and shrink up nicely after a bit of wear. I definitely prefer these to any of the 100% polyester on field hats from New Era. They are hands down, the best fitting hats I own. And Mickey's Place has, like, all of them. While I have historically ordered from the Hall of Fame store (which also has excellent customer service), the selection at Mickey's Place is excellent. I would definitely recommend shopping here! Looking forward to visiting in person this summer and snagging one of the Brooklyn Dodgers heritage caps.
