What a fabulous Heimsch Restaurant. Went here on a rainy day and lucky during Spargel Saison (Asparagus Season). I know, I know.. You'd think, what is so special about asparagus? White asparagus! That's it. Since moving to the States I've been craving cream of asparagus soup....which is traditionally made in Germany with white asparagus. Lucky enough to have the joy of today's specials:
Soup:
Cream of asparagus soup (ORDERED!)
Entree:
Salmon, Chicken or Sirloin with a side of...you guessed it asparagus with choice of hollondaise or bernaise sauce. I personally prefer hollondaise - a bit easier on the butter, but bernaise doesn't disappoint either.
Other entrees:
charcuterie board with different smoked meets
house rotisserie chicken
and others...which sounded delicious, but after the server went over the specials, I was locked in.
I had the cream of asparagus soup and the steak w/asparagus and hollondaise sauce.
It did not disappoint and I highly recommend!
Water:
I'm a spoiled american right now, where tap water (still water) is free and bottomless. To my pleasant surprise this restaurant has bottomless still and sparkling water for a flat fee of 7Euros (Pauschale). hydrate from your sightseeing with all the water you can.
This restaurant is located in the inside of 25h hotel - which I may say is quite trendy. The vivrant and funky interior is also reflected in this restaurant. I've heard they recently renovated from a "cantine" style look and it sure is an improvement!
Will I come back? Yes of course! Hopefully during asparagus season again, if not, it will sure give me a reason to try other things off the menu. read more
