No, never. Zero customer service. They are dirty and nasty people. Very conniving.... They truly do not care about the customer. And it shows with everybody I have talked to. I have lived in the Dayton area for 30 years. Most people I talk to about this place do not have very good things to say. Do your research. There's other lawn equipment stores around. read more

Like another reviewer my Toro Titan 48" was in dire straights this past summer. Heil Brothers was backed up three to four weeks and I nursed the mower along until they could fit me in. The mower needed a lot of work - carburetor, blades, plugs, and more....expensive and time to repair. But, my mower is like new again, running great! I will use them for routine maintenance from this point forward. My only negative comment is a little bit better communication. I had to call to follow-up on the status. The last call the service manager gave me the details of the issues and costs. read more

Neil Brothers did a great job fixing my 46 inch Husqvarna lawn tractor which stopped in the middle of a mowing in May. Because of seasonal pressure it took nearly a month to get it back. It needed a carburetor, ignition module, and work on the valve cover, which was leaking. They use only factory parts and they are expensive. When I got it back I couldn't see the fuel filter and asked them to come out and put one on. I was very embarrassed when the tech showed me that their was a fuel filter. It was shield from view by cables and linkage when viewed from a standing position. The last time I had it into Heil Brothers was five years ago. I usually do routine maintenance myself. But, I'm thorough intimidated by carburetor and lack of spark issues. read more

Great place to buy a mower! Sales staff is very friendly and knowledgable. I love the aroma of this place, it reminds me of the old Feed store back home by the family farm! Service dept is really backed up after April,so it might take over a month to get your mower back. Take it in in DEC! Toro walk behind is amazing. It's the best mower I have ever owned. Run it dry of gas before your winter storage, just sayin'. read more

I was looking at through some bank statements for tax purposes and saw the $60+ bill for my tractor tires I had "installed" there last year. It reminded me I never left my review. I brought some sub-compact tractor tires, and the rims with old tires on them, to be removed and mounted. I first asked them if they were able to even do it, which they said they could. So I left them, the guy at the counter told me to return the next day at the same time to pick them up. He never got any other information from me. So, I went back the next day to pick them up. I told the guy at the counter I was there to pick up the tractor tires. Everybody that worked there kinda had an "Oh no" look on their faces. The guy at the counter said they were going to call me and let me know what was going on, but didn't have my number (go figure). I told him nobody asked for any information, he kinda rolled his eyes, giving me the idea that this happens often. Then they brought out the goods, they rolled out the 2 smaller front wheels mounted and inflated, awesome. Maybe not, these tires were directional, and one of them was mounted backward. they were able to flip it over in a matter of minutes. They rolled out the rear rims with the new tires mounted on them but not inflated. Then they gave me some sob story about them working on them for so many hours and couldn't get them to seat or hold air. Then they proceeded to charge me the full amount for 4 tires mounted. You have to understand, at this point, I am SO frustrated and angry with them I am not arguing with them anymore. I stupidly paid them. Shame on them. So they got their full monies without doing the task they were set to do, that's bad business. I then had to find another place to get the tires "finished". I ended up driving a little way east on 35 to a tractor dealer. They got me right in and had the tires completely finished in about 15 minutes, I then had to pay for their service, which was roughly $30. (At least they did the job, and were happy to do it after hearing the story). In the end, I paid nearly $100 to have the 4 tires mounted, I learned my lesson. Never again. read more

I was in the market to buy a zero turn mower as a Christmas gift. I had decided on a husqvarna and stopped in at Heil Brothers. The owner Jerry approached me and showed me a couple mowers. After choosing one, he offered 2 prices, one cash offer and another credit offer. I had done a lot of online research his sale price was actually a good deal. The biggest drawback was his attitude and rudeness. He was not very friendly at all, rude demeanor, and no customer service skills. Despite this, I figured I could tolerate his attitude long enough to get a good mower deal. I had chosen to finance the mower. I filled out an application and was told it could take 30 minutes and that he would call me. I killed time at a nearby store for an hour and half and no phone call. I stopped back into the store and he said he was busy and hadn't submitted it, although I was the only one in the store both times. He said he'd submit it and call me again. Once again I stayed in the area killing another hour and half and no call. I stopped in again and he said he hadn't heard back yet. Not once apologizing for the situation. I waited until the next afternoon and called and was told Jerry would call me right back. No calls for 2 additional days. I was frustrated and had decided to go elsewhere. If I'm getting this kind of customer service and hadn't even bought the mower yet, I can't imagine what the service is like if I ever had issues down the road. I went today and actually bought a bigger & better mower with better financing and spent an additional 1500. I called Jerry back and he said he was still waiting on a call, again with no apologies along with the rude attitude. I told him nevermind on the deal and I went elsewhere. I hated having 2 credit inquires, but I just couldn't do business with Heil Brothers. I checked my credit report and they had opened an account. It was supposed to initially be an inquiry. I had to call Synchrony and close the new account. I'm just extremely frustrated with the whole experience at Heil Brothers. read more

I took my lawn mower to Heil Brothers for a blade replacement only. The man who took my order said if it's over $100, they'd call. I responded if it's over $100 they can keep it. I called back a couple days later to double check if that was a joke. The rep I spoke with said they were going to check over other parts of the mower. I said, no, I just need to have the blade replaced. Today I called and was told the repair was "around $95" (not including tax) because they replaced the spark plug and air filter. I repeated that I had asked to have the blade replaced only. I guess they are going to keep my mower because I am not going to pay for services not requested. Can you say price gouging? read more

5/17/2018 I went to Heil bro on May 3rd 2018 looking for a small tiller. The sales person and I picked out a nice little Stihl tiller for $418. I paid for it and they serviced it and loaded it into my trunk. The spent a few minutes showed several time how to start it and use it. This is typical our my. transactions with Heil bro. I took it home and stored it in my shed. Today, May 8, io thought perhaps I really am not up to using it. I am 84 yrs old and suffer with hip and lower back problems. I called them and talked to a very nice young lady. Told her my situation and she suggest that since I had not used it, Just return it to us for refund. I offered to pay a restocking fee.Jerry said, no need for that. Over the years I have bought several machines for my yard and several for my church. always a fair price, a quality demo an on how to use it At Heil bro you wont be entertained, no slaps on the back and no comedy acts. Just a fair price and good service No used car salesmen at Heil bro. The are a going concern and they are all business. I used to take care of my church grounds. we paid a lot of money for hiring lawn care and decoded tp purchase our own equipment.Being it was for the church, I did some shopping around. I did experience some back slapping, joking and used car tactics. At heil bro I was offered a fair price with a small discount, good service and several minutes min on how to use this stuff. It was about $6500 worth. We took the mower in for transmission during trhe busy season. They volunteered a loner mower so i could keep the grass nice until it was returned. I have taken my to them when i had difficulty getting them started in the spring. They would start them for me and again educate me on how to start them. It is a family business of two bro's a son, i think a wife and a dau Probably i have had 200 or more transaction with them over the years with them over the years. Never a song and dance or a comedy show. Just a fair price and quality service. My son also deals with them a lot and though he shops he usually buys from heil bro's. I have had problems on occasion elsewhere. and in all fairness it was usually a 2 sided affair. It takes two to tango. When servicing your lawn equipment here, be careful with this business. They tried to charge me for parts that I did not need. I had just replaced fuel line, filter, etc - when they were giving me an estimate for carburetor work, they tried to say I needed the parts that I knew were brand new. When I called them out on it, they claimed it was from the ethanol in the fuel that caused them to go bad - I had replaced the parts one day prior to me bringing my edger in for service! I went and pulled the edger out of there prior to doing the work since the issue of integrity was in question - they still charged me $35.00 for "diagnostics". They also told me they went and re-inspected the items I complained about and said they were now fine. They said it was an "honest mistake", but still proceeded to hold me accountable for the service fee. When I got my edger home, I pulled the carb off myself - they hadn't even pulled it to see what the problem was. The diaphragms and gaskets hadn't been removed...unbelievable! The only way to hold this business accountable is to take your business elsewhere!! I feel they prey on the unsuspecting and unknowing by charging them for parts that are not needed. I was lucky because I knew what they were telling me was a lie were trying to take advantage of me to make more money. read more
