Poor Customer service. If they can price gouge you they will, and they are extremely unorganized. Find somewhere else to go!

I told him I'd rather have a new one put on because they weren't that expensive. Holidays came and last Saturday, January 4th, 2025, I get another call asking the same thing but this time he sent me a video of what was needed from my old parts. Longer story short, I agreed to drop off the parts I had on Thursday, January 9, 2025, before my doctor appointment up the road from them. Upon arriving he acted really jittery, nervous and came across belligerent. He started saying he has been trying to get my parts from me, and he has spent two hours working on something he won't get paid for. He went on to say I was stupid, dumb, and that I could take my snowblower with me because he wasn't going to work on it. He brought the blower out, running his mouth, cursing at me and again, calling me names. I tried to get my phone out of the car to record him acting the way he was but was slow retrieving and activating the video. I do have some of it as he was flipping me off and etc... I just wish I could have gotten the whole thing. He slammed the blower in my SUV and ripped the loose hands off so it would fit. I am now questioning if this blower is even mine. It does not look like the same one. He was VERY RUDE! After having him cursing at me and calling me names, I did speak up... I asked him who in the hell was he think he was talking to and to not speak to me in such a way. He said he talks to is customers the way they need to be talked to. I seriously cannot believe how he behaved as a business owner. Very unprofessional. People should never be verbally attacked by anyone. It has had me upset ALL DAY. I do have videos of his behavior. My Father, who I recommended to buy a Stihl chain saw where I bought mine at Boone's, had a bad…read moreexperience. His saw was only a few months old (600-700 dollar saw) and had a no spark, no start issue. Since he's been a mechanic for years and works on chain saws as well seen it was not getting spark and took it to Boones for warranty for the coil or whatever it needed. When he got there a technician checked for spark and got none. My father left it there thinking it was under warranty and when he went pick it up 2 weeks later they wanted to charge him 48.00. I went with him to talk to a customer service person and the technician, and the technician confirmed he got no spark when he checked it initially but said at that time his spark tester was faulty. I stated, "so you made a mistake," he said yes, but the customer service rep still made my father pay for the service. He stated the fuel was bad after he smelled it...the fuel in the same container was used by me on my father's second chainsaw, his Husqvarna the day he took it in and had no fuel issues. Especially since it was the expensive premixed fuel he had just purchased at another power tool store in Germantown. I told my father to go ahead and pay it, He said he won't go back there again on matter of principle. I bought 2 chainsaws and blower there, and other chains, seals and such. I will not go back either and believe they were dishonest and an older customer shouldn't be put through the drama. Interestingly right after my father bought his Husqvarna chainsaw the coil did go out, over year ago, he took it to Ness's where he bought it and they fixed it for free, and the coil was bad. I am not an advocate for Ness's near Germantown, but my father now is...they treat customers right at least. Boones states they have over 53 years' experience, I just wonder if that means those dealing with customers, none of them looked over 30, I could be wrong.

Unbelievable service. I brought my mower there to be serviced. It needed a front wheel and the…read morebracket stuff that holds it all together. The total was $230. That was steep, but I agreed to the work. When I went to pick up my mower, it was clearly not the same mower I brought in. I mentioned that right away, thinking there was a mistake when he went to the back to retrieve my mower. I had a dark green mower, they put a rusted out black mower in my truck. The person who brought this mower out to me wouldn't hear a thing I said, simply said it was the mower that was dropped off. When I got home I checked the serial number and the motor was in fact mine. The deck - not so much. And it was impossible to raise the blade. So unless we were cutting a putting green, this mower was useless. I brought it back, explained again what the issue was and this wasn't my mower. It appears to be my engine placed on a different mower. They took it back to fix it again. I called 4 days later to check on the mower, again met with insistence this was my mower. The person on the phone said they would not "get involved with this" and referred me to "Scott" but he was on vacation to call back the next day. I was unable to due to my schedule so I stopped by on the third day. I asked for Scott in the service area, a nice lady helped me and called him, where I spoke to him on the phone at the shop. He said, "I don't know what to tell you, this is your mower" and basically that I was to take it. I asked for my money back - at this point keep the mower because it isn't worth my aggravation. He said, "That's not going to happen." Ok - so what are you going to do to fix this problem. He asked for my sales receipt for my 5 or 6 year old mower - sorry I don't have such a thing at this point. He then said it was just a Walmart mower (which I believe is where I bought it) and if I look at what they sell, I will see that this is the right mower. I found the same mower that I had online but he insisted that was just an online picture. Walmart also sells this style that he states is mine. He even suggested that my 68 year old mother (who actually did the initial drop off for me) brought the wrong mower in. So she either swapped mine for someone else along the way to the shop or magically found one with the exact same problem mine had - a broken wheel. Really? Or maybe my mother took the mower apart and swapped the deck herself before bringing it in? Yes, all perfectly reasonable explanations. I suggested that maybe while it was being fixed, the technician put it back on a wrong deck? Sounds much more plausible to me. Scott then told me they only ever work on 1 lawn mower at a time, so that explanation was impossible. I find it really hard to believe they only work on 1 mower in their entire shop at a time - but I've never seen them work so I'll humor that level of his ridiculous story. Scott then asked what their motivation would be to change the mower deck. I have no idea - it is possible that it was human error and completely accidental. He won't hear of any such thing. Never mind this mower is the wrong color, rusted and the paint is bubbling where the rust is trying to pop through. None of which was there on my deck. Oh, let's not forget that the handle doesn't fold down over the mower. When it was transported to him, the handle was folded over the mower so the truck bed cover could be closed. If for whatever reason you decide to waste your money at this business, please take a photo of your equipment when you drop it off because who knows what you will get back in return. I dropped my mower off June 22, 2020. It is now August 14 and I still don't have my mower back.

I rarely ever leave reviews; great, good, or bad...but this has to be said! I encourage anyone who shops at this store regularly or who wants to learn a little bit more about the company culture to read the pictures below, in order. And to be Frank, this actually involves two stores, and the online ordering system, making this a systemic issue with all of Rural King as a franchise. The culture promoted and tolerated within this franchise is disgusting and the lack of professionalism and business knowledge is wholly subpar. I genuinely have no idea how they are as successful and as big of a frandchise name as they are. If I felt this was a one-off, bad luck, special circumstance issue, I would not have made this lengthy review, but the entire experience screams of this being the cultural "norm", being accepted by employees (all the way up to management), and being a systemic problem within the entire franchise that needs immediate attention and swift correction. Thank you to everyone who reads the pictures of the full review below and I sincerely hope that this brings about some change within the company.
