So my wife made an appt with the clerk for 6 pm on Saturday. We showed up and not only did they not have an appt for us, they said their seamstress doesn't even come on til 7:30. We weren't going to wait 90 min to see if we could possibly be seen. The clerk had no idea what was going on, never offered to speak to a manager, and never offered any concessions or discount on the anticipated service. Their attitude indicated that they clearly had sufficient business that they did not need to concern themselves with us or our time. This was a horrible experience with non-existent customer care or support. We will not be using them in the future. If you desire alterations, make sure you confirm at least 2-3 times and get something in writing as it appears they take nothing less than that as proof of an appt.

I walked around for a bit trying to find someone to help me, but either the associates were busy with other customers or didn't acknowledge me. Eventually, I approached one associate, and after explaining what I was looking for, he was very helpful. He found my size, the color I wanted, and was informative throughout the process. I was also happy to find out they had a special. It was actually cheaper to buy the full suit than just the jacket alone. So I ended up getting a full suit for the price I originally planned to spend on just a jacket. The issue came with alterations. Since they offer tailoring services, I asked the associate to have the suit tailored to a slim fit. He told me the jacket was fine as is, and that only the pants needed hemming. I trusted his judgment since I'm not too familiar with how suits are supposed to fit. A week later, I picked up the suit, and I wasn't thrilled with how it looked. After trying it on again, I noticed the jacket felt too big. A different associate helped me this time and agreed it needed further tailoring. I had to pay an additional $56 to get it adjusted properly. Overall, K&G is a great place to find a suit at an affordable price, but be cautious with tailoring. Don't be afraid to speak up or ask for a second opinion to make sure you're getting the fit you really want.

One bridesmaid suggested I drive down to her alteration place in San Marcos, Special Occasions. I called beforehand to verify their hours and said I would be coming in that weekend to try it on for a quote. The bride ended up coming with me because she had a few things to alter as well. The dress was way too big on me and too long. I was provided a very acceptable price and received friendly service. It was around thanksgiving and I was in no rush, so it was about 2 weeks before I could get back down there on a weekend. It was well worth the travel. I tried it on before I paid for it and noticed it was still a bit big in the waist, so she said she will fix it immediately if my friend and I wanted to grab lunch nearby. She stayed open past their closing time and called me back in about an hour. I didn't try it on again, I trusted her! And the dress fit me like a glove. Getting to two weeks before the wedding we started calling because we wanted to make sure it would come in on time and wanted to know if it would fit and have time to fix it. Nope. After calling around 5-6 times before the wedding we were either told that it would be on the truck arriving that day, or it wouldn't even be transferred from their warehouse until the day before the wedding. We were at a rehearsal the day before when we got the text that the suits were ready to pick up. This was after annoying them. We get there she wants the rest of the payment before i can even try it on. Which... i guess makes since? But after waiting for so long i'd like to know it fits. And it didn't. too tight yet i dealt with it because guess what? it was the day before the wedding and after the service time i knew i wasn't getting it fixed. Their reasoning for the time being so late? Prom season. So i asked if this is their usual turn around time and they said YES. But after asking why it took so long when we ordered it in advanced, they said we could've PAYED more to have it arrive a couple days earlier. So if you want to be anxious about suits all the way up until the wedding, i suggest this place! Not to mention they wanted it back the very next day but said if we couldn't do that just call and it would be a fee
