This is not a Garden Centre anymore its a Country Household /Clothes/and cafe area.The Staff look very professional with there little walkie talkies,its just a shame they have not got the KNOWLEDGE to back it up.The clue should be in the title GARDEN CENTRE,a basic knowledge of your subject is essential,they get totally bamboozled when you ask them a technical question.I shall now go on-line and get what i need.Instead of trying to shop locally. read more

This is a great place for all your gardening needs they sell a great range of plants in full bloom and seeds and bulbs, they also sell toolls garden ornamanets and sheds They have them great giant outdoor garden games they sell a range of outdoor clothing joule craig hoppers etc they have a nice little cafe near the entrance and then they have a kitchen range as well as a fresh food shop they also have a great book range this was moved to the house part at the back of the outdoor part next to the resteraunt last week so I think they are making room for the chirstmas stuff The food is great try the chocoalte brownies fab and much cheaper than the chocolate cake they do sandwiches hot and cold and lots of hot meals different every day, fab pies casseroles and currys and always a veggie meal Have never noticed the pet part I dont think it is there any more I know the website hasnt been updated in ages though I will have a look for it next time I pop in read more

Just outside of Morpeth, this garden centre has recently expanded and is now a huge attraction, getting bus loads of visitors from all over the region, in particular north Northumberland. Vast in size, it has a big range of plants, shrubs, trees etc and all garden related products. There is a small pet store that sells more exotic pets like tortoises and parrots. I am not keen to visit here, as I feel that the animals are kept in much too small a space. In particular, one parrot barely has room to move. There is a section selling indoor and outdoor furniture, as well as a section selling clothes, gifts, cards and childrens items. There is a section selling farm produce and lush organic type foods. There is a new and improved cafe with views onto fields where you can watch gold finches come down for seed. As it is such a popular place and quite high brow the prices here are quite high. It's not a place I would first think of when needing products of the nature it sells. I prefer to bring my family here, the kids love exploring the grounds, looking at everything, and getting a cake in the cafe, so it is a good day out for them. read more

It also has a section for clothes, books and a large section of household items such as cookers items. It is a good place to go for craft items as well. It has a food shop with local produce and a lovely cafe which has several main meals and always has a vegetarian option. A top notch garden centre with more to offer. If you fancy some new garden or conservatory furniture this is the place to go as well as having an enormous selection of plants and planters. They have a pet section which stock the usual rodents and they have more specialised creatures like tortoises. You can stock up on Christmas decorations and have a selection of gifts. As well as having a cafe with lovely food. Plenty of parking and a childrens play area as well. read more

This isn't the cheapest garden centre in the area but it's got a huge selection and it's almost impossible to make a quick visit! There's plenty of free parking though it does get busy it's much better since the expansion and improvements that have taken place over the lastcouple of years. They often have special offers on herbs, alpines and pot plants and they really do have a wonderful range. As well as trees, plants, seeds and gardening equipment there's outdoor clothing, books, cards, garden furniture, pet supplies and pond equipment and a tempting cafe. It's a very well known and popular destination for a day out. read more

As a group organiser, I took a coach up to Heighley Gate twice a year for many years, November being the most popular for the Christmas displays. I also have to say, on behalf of my group, it has definitely gone down hill since being took over by Wyevale. There's nothing different anymore, its not worth the journey to see exactly the same as we have local. Such a shame because we all loved going. I also understand the cafe, that in my opinion was excellent both in quality and cost has been changed to a 'restaurant' serving more pasta than traditional meals. Not a good idea. Why fix what isn't broken! Its a great disappointment now. read more

What a mess they have made of this what was once a lovely place to visit-yes it is clean and tidy and beautifully set out but we are certainly paying for it-the food in the now restaurant is bland-overcooked and far too expensive-we used to visit at least once a week and have something to eat and have bought alsorts there including a welsh dresser for my daughters kitchen and a sideboard for myself and many other items from Christmas cards to hay from the animal section-but they cannot even get that right now-trying to find someone to ask advice from is almost impossible-there is just a sign saying pay for goods in main shop. Our grandchildren have been just about brought up at the garden centre having been taken there from 2 weeks old and the older members of staff have watched them grow from week to week but not from now on not since they have put an hourly charge on the soft play area-this area was always full and was sometimes difficult to find a table but now it is empty-no young mums just a couple of us older childminders (grans). I paid my due to get to play and asked the staff if anyone policed this new charge and was told no-so I did query why I was paying the fee and there was no reply-stupid me. i spoke to the older staff that we have known for a number a years and asked if the powers that be realised what they were doing and they thought they were grasping at straws as the numbers and takings were dropping. I hope they realise what they are doing as even the staff have no Faith in them. read more
