This shop is located at the top west end of Bedlington Front Street. It is actually located in the…read moreupper floor of a house-like building and is sandwiched between a butchers and a chemist. There is a small hard-to-see slightly shabby signpost above the door. The sign is marked with contact information too. The door, which is usally kept pushed open, has a big step up and then there is a steep staircase which leads upstairs to the shop. It is a little daunting to climb the stairs and may be difficult if you have any walking problems. Disabled access is also therefore difficult, likewise for parents with prams. Parking is available in a free carpark behind the front street or on street level in limited spaces. The shop is quite large. The windows are painted with the name of the shop and the phone number. Stock and materials line the edges of the shop and it can look quite bulky and thrown together. There is a lot of choice of stock. The staff are friendly and will attend to you immediately. It is a quiet store and easy to get served quickly.

It is easily accessed from either the Sainsbury's carpark or the central carpark outside of the Subway shop. The store has a large staircase outside of it but it can be accessed if you have a wheelchair or pushchair via a ramp that leads alongside the florist shop at the central entrance doors of the mall. The store has two windows which are always set up in an attractive display showing what products they sell. In actual fact it would be quicker to say what they DON'T sell! From gardening equipment, tools, pain, household furnishings, cards, clothes, pet accessories, cleaning products, vitamins, books, underwear, fabrics, toys, stationary, sweets, ornaments and everything else for the home - this is my first port of call when I'm looking for a specifc item at the cheapest price. The store is huge and the aisles are qite narrow. Paint, tools and garden stuff is on the left. Clothes are on the right. Staionary and clothing accessories are in the central aisles. Fabrics are at the back of the store. You can actually buy ready made curtains etc or buy your own length of fabric from rolls. Everything else the sell is located in the far right hand side of the store. It is usually quite messy inside as buyers tend to rummage through the stock and leave it on the floor. Staff are always to be found around the shop to help you. There are often high wall displays where you will need to ask a staff member to retrieve an item. There are usually queues at the tills (there are about 3 or 4 tills). The staff are very nice and friendly though.

Since moving into the area I am a regular visitor to browse around the store. Inside the store they sell a full range of items from clothes, to party bags, to fabrics and materials. I always love the back end of the store where all the crafty items are, including ribbons and craft items at a hevily reduced price to clear the stock! You can get pretty much anything in this store, a must for anyone!

The window displays are always immaculate here and showcase a selection of the wallpapers, decorating equipment, room furnishings and pictures which they sell. The two main windows are large and spacious and make a huge impact on how glamourous Bedlington Front Street looks! The store sells a large selection of luxurious and high quality wall paper. The store keeps in touch with the times and there are always new papers to choose from - these are often displayed in the windows. The wallpaper is usually thick, often padded and usually has a complicated design. A lot of the papers remind me of the designs of William Morris. As well as wallpaper, the store specialise in selling photographic and painted pictures, with many of them being local landscapes. The quality of such pictures is very professional. The prints come framed and are usually quite reasonable in price. Tallantyre also sell some items of furniture such as ornamental furnishings. These are usually graceful and high quality. In fact most of what the store sells has an upper class feel to it. A wonderful store and the first place to go in Bedlington if you are decorating a room!

The quality of the goods they store is very high. There are some orginal designs. They generally stock things like mirrors, wall art and ornaments. This is a specialist home design shop and a great alternative to the mass produced art at places like Ikea!
