Aswell as a pool table and dart board Aswell as all these perks, the place itself is quite modern with classic pub banter and humour. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, the prices for drinks are fair aswell as the choice for hot bar snacks. Also the pub has a gay night to encourage every part of the community. So all round this place has abit of everything to suit anyone for a good night out.

Half the people there around a table in the conservatory area playing cards and that looked like fun. Would best describe this as an old traditional pub with low beamed ceilings and picturesque little windows. Well worn, lived in look to the place made it feel homely. No piped music either which was nice change. Good draught selection and wine for the ladies came in 30ml mini bottles which was nice and not to expensive either. The fact that it was so quiet on a Friday is a bit ominous and probably a reflection of the times so don't expect it to be around for long which would be a shame.

Because it was twilight and it had started raining, we went here because it was closest to the wedding venue, although we would have preferred to have found a "proper" restaurant. It has a cosy atmosphere although the music was a little on the loud side for us - my husband is heard of hearing and even he commented on it! We didn't need a 3 course meal, just a snack of some kind as we weren't sure what food (if any) would be awaiting us at the evening reception. My husband decided to have fish and chips he had a choice of thin or chunky chips, which is nice as we always prefer chunky chips - they are much more healthy than the ghastly thin things often served up as chips. I settled on the mac and cheese which surprised my husband (he's a bit behind the times in these things) since he thought it had something to do with McDonalds and, as we don't eat meat out, thought it was a strange choice that I'd made and I had to explain that it was macaroni and cheese. My husband felt that his fish was predominantly batter, there didn't appear to be an awful lot of white fish from what I could see, but it was a reasonable sized portion. My mac and cheese was a huge portion served in an enamel dish. In the menu it was marked as mac and cheese with mushroom - which it was - although there wasn't very much mushroom to be honest. However, it was a really nice, tasty meal compared to some that I've had that are only fit for the bin! It's almost as good as the mac and cheese from The Diner - that's saying something. We were right by the door to an outside area - it's covered over and well-lit, and it's where the smokers go. What really astonished me was that the other diners were there for the cocktails. When we arrived there there was a table of four girls and a table behind them of 4 young guys. Each group had 2 cocktails per person. The waiter came to the girls' table for them to re-order and when he returned, they each had another 2 cocktails. Considering that the cocktails were over £8 each, each round of drinks for four people came to approx £64! I'm sure they were very nice but that does seem an awful lot of money just on drinks. I'd certainly go back there if ever I happened to be in the area - although that seems highly unlikely and, hopefully, the next time I have cause to go to Wycombe it won't be raining and I'll find a proper restaurant to eat in!

I've walked by this place any number of times. It's probably just about the closest place to eat to…read morethe Premier Inn (unless you count McDonald's), but for some reason, we've never gone here. This trip, we finally tried it out. At first, I was concerned about the number and size of the TV screens showing football games, but the sound was mercifully turned down, and, despite my fears, the place wasn't filled with lager louts screaming their support for their preferred team. We could actually have a conversation and hear one another, so that was a relief. You order and pay at the bar, and they bring your food to you. I was impressed that the barmaid could keep us all straight (I went with a fair to middling-sized group). The food was competent. Not fabulous, but not overpriced, so I call it a win. If I ever get back to High Wycombe, I won't be avoiding this place anymore.
