We got married at the Lily Pools in Chicago and it was everything I could have hoped for. Nicole was early, she made sure she got all the photos we could have possibly wanted and even ones we didn't know we wanted! If I ever need to hire another event photographer, Nicole is my go-to hands down. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the results and cannot stress how effortless the entire process was. 11/10, would recommend to everyone for literally any event.

She was super friendly and nice, and I LOVE every shot! I would say after looking at her photos, it made me realize how important it is to hire the right photographer to capture something that'll only happen once. As a comedian, it's important to have a smattering of pictures to be used for posters, online ads,…read moredartboards, etc. But as a non-photogenic person, I have been plagued since my first yearbook photo with the inability to get a decent picture, even when professional photographers and high-end equipment were involved. I had the good fortune of meeting Ting at a Yelp event. I noticed her taking pictures with a nice Canon dSLR, so I figured I'd ask if she takes headshots and might be able to help me out. She told me to look at her stuff on flickr and get in touch with her. I took a look a few days later, and was blown away by both her photos and her creative Photoshop work. I got in touch, and it was on. Ting was very accommodating in that she asked me for as much input as I could give in order to get what I wanted out of our shoot, but not to the point of making me feel like I had to provide input even if I didn't have the slightest clue of what I was talking about. We went to a few spots I had picked in my neighborhood, and then we walked around and Ting found a few others. As you can tell from the 5-star review, the shots came out well. It had to do with several factors - Ting's skillful use of her EOS 5D, our finding the right spots to shoot, and shooting at the right time of day. Perhaps most importantly, Ting offered very helpful input during the shots to help me pose. Remember what I said about not being photogenic? It's always due to weird facial expressions or positioning of my body. I know there are plenty of shots that weren't usable because of this; but Ting was patient and helped me get it right. So now, thanks to Ting, I have some headshots that I can send to bookers, some other fun shots for my website, and a really cool multilayer image that Ting put together from several of the pictures we took. Her rates are reasonable and I am looking forward to working with her more in the future. Whether you're looking for conventional headshots, more creative/artsy type photos, or a flyer/postcard for your business, you can't go wrong with Ting.

Let's get one thing straight, photography is 'art'. No amount of user-friendly and accessible post…read moreprocessing gimmicks can make up for poor photography skills. As a creative person, one of the hardest things about hiring other professionals to fulfil your vision is that not many, if any, can live up to your expectations. This is why Ting Photography and Design was a no-brainer for us. I've seen her work evolve over time, from spectacular, to straight-up awe-inspiring, so having her as our wedding photographer felt more like us being the lucky ones to have been able to have her services, than the other way around :-) There are a lot of factors involved in shooting, beyond just a fancy camera and accessories. From composition, lighting and color grading, to understanding when to/not to overuse post processing effects; these are a few of the tenets of a creative/professional photographer, and Ting excels at all of these. For our wedding, my wife and I wanted both the ceremony and the receptions to feel organic and not staged. The last things we wanted was a coordinator and photographer running around freaking out trying to corral guest for that perfect shot (when we're just trying to enjoy one another's company before we all fly back to our respective corners of the country). I'm sure some prefer their photographer being more commanding, but for an outdoor wedding we wanted the photos to compliment both the setting and the vibe of the wedding - basically, she made sure to get the obligatory wedding party photos out of the way, and then spent the rest of the time capturing the real feel of the party, along with some of the coolest moments from the wedding that the bride and groom are just not able to experience (seeing as you're running around getting' married and all). Now, just because our wedding was a casual outdoor affair, it doesn't mean that Ting isn't capable of working a more traditional one. On the contrary, i've seen her work (which led me to hire her) on some large-scale wedding that required a lot more pre-planning and day-of preparations, and she straight-up crushed it! From your engagement shoot, to the final wedding photo, you and your partner will have a branded wedding, and a set of photos that not only fill a virtual photo album, but will also tell the story of your journey together. Take it form me, i'm a picky dude who questions everyone's artistic abilities (which is why i've never pulled the trigger on a tattoo), but man, this girl is gifted. Whether you go with Ting Photography and Design, or not, make sure that your photographer is - like Ting - an artist first, and a photographer a close second. You will get much richer results, and more compelling work than you will from a 'shoot-by-numbers' photographer whose work is a collection of photos with nothing but perfectly symmetrical composition (bleh).

She is a master at her craft and her passion and joy is contagious. Upon first meeting her, my now husband and I completely clicked with her. She was funny, easy to work with, kind and on top of that she is CRAZY talented. She doesn't do this as a hobby, she is a professional. It shows. She has been doing this for many years and she is constantly perfecting her work, learning new techniques and getting incredible shots every. single. time. We first did our engagement pictures with her. She had amazing and unexpected places in downtown Chicago that had breathtaking views that were not jammed with people. We used the engagement photos for some displays at the wedding and we received numerous compliments on how high quality and professional they were. On the wedding day, Renae absolutely crushed it. She was organized, prepared, fast but effective. She blended right in with the group and worked so hard. People shouldn't take photographers for granted because they WORK their butt off! She had wonderful ideas, kept us on schedule but also made it very fun. Its only been a couple weeks and we are already getting sneak peeks of photos from the wedding. We have about 6-7 of them and we are blown away. We are overjoyed that we get to keep these wonderfully captured moments of our wedding for the rest of our lives! We worked with numerous highly recommended vendors and they were all amazed by her photos. These are people that see wedding photos all the time! I had a Pinterest board with very specific photos I'd been dreaming about, and Nicole went above and beyond to make sure I got **every single shot** I had envisioned (and then some I didn't even know I needed). Her photos aren't just beautiful -- they're *alive*. She somehow captures the realness and emotion of the moment in a way that doesn't feel posed or forced. When we got our gallery back, it felt like reliving the day exactly as it happened -- all the joy, the nerves, the love, the little in-between moments. Those are the images that matter most, and Nicole nails them effortlessly. Also: Nicole is incredibly organized, which made the day feel calm and easy. She planned a timeline that didn't just focus on the locations we wanted -- she timed everything around the best light, the best angles, and the best flow so we weren't rushing or stressed. It felt thoughtful, intentional, and honestly... it made the whole experience feel even more special. I will be using Nicole for every milestone in my life from here on out. Immediatelly I ordered photos to give out as gifts for my shower, some to put up at the wedding, made a guest book etc etc. We received so many compliments of the photos that were displayed at our house and our reception. My aunt can't stop gushing about the photo I sent as a thank you for coming to the shower. Becky captured our true fun loving nature. It was amazingly easy working with Becky, she made us fee at ease and we hit it off from the start. When our wedding day rolled around I was beyond extatic to work with Becky again. She came EARLY and ready to work. She shot me getting ready, coming out of the house, in the limo...during the ceremony Becky and her assistant were quiet and professional. After the ceremony she captured all the poses I requested including a big group shot with all of our guests! She directed our guests and us and was very efficient and timely. The photo shoot at the park got sooo creative! Becky is very aware of her surroundings and uses all opportunities for photo ops. At our reception both her and the assistant were working non-stop...before they left Becky told my husband and I she scoped out a cool brick wall that would make for some great night shots. Right there we had a mini photo shoot! It was soo amazing. I can't wait to see our wedding photos. One of my favorite vendors to work with!!!

Honestly, when Amanda sent us our gallery during our honeymoon, I was overwhelmed with emotions. I was so relieved. She gave me the time capsule I always hoped I'd get out of a wedding photographer. She allowed me, 10 days later, to relive my entire day in such a high-quality way. It was almost as if she knew exactly what was important to me on that day and made sure to freeze frame it. I was also surprised! I was surprised to see all of the things I missed on our wedding day and night. The tiny moments Amanda captured expanded our day to beyond how we were even able to remember it. Ultimately we received a great recommendation from a friend that had her as their wedding photographer. We are so happy we went this route! Wedding planning amidst a pandemic wasn't easy & at times felt a bit less celebratory than I envisioned. Christine was great with meeting us virtually, making us feel comfortable, & answering our questions leading up to the big day. For instance, I even leaned on her experience in choosing my bridesmaids dresses... she was helpful all around. Both of us (bride/groom... but mostly groom) have very lively & sometimes crazy, friends/families. Christine & crew did a great job wrangling the herd & getting everything accomplished; all in a very nice manner. Patient, fun & lively were the words I'd describe the crew as, the day of our wedding. Day of went smoothly, including our photos getting ready/around the city/and of course at the wedding ceremony and reception itself. Christine & her team were flexible in terms of staggered start times, as well as having folks at various locations. The week of the wedding we decided to extend our 2nd shooter an additional hour & the team was really easy to work with on that. Kate was our 2nd shooter and she was fabulous as well. With the additional hour added, she was the 'lead photographer' for that portion & she did great. Our videographer was Antonin & he did a good job capturing footage as well. You can tell that Christine deeply cares about her business & puts her heart into her work. Just look at her blog & you will see how she takes note of important memories & aspects of clients relationships- and mimics that in her work. Not only is she a great photographer, she is a really great person. We saw her at a friend's wedding after we booked her, but prior to meeting her in person, and she quickly recognized us/took a photo of us there. Her memory and care stuck out to us & made the experience more special.
