LOCATION:
This shop is one of several located in northern Italy. This location is solely for take out as it is located in a train station.
CONCEPT:
Heidi & Peter sell baked goods and accompanying locally produced beverages, including fruit drinks, beer, and wine associated with South Tyrol. Sandwiches made from thinly sliced cured meats, and associated jarred accompaniments (pickles, sauerkraut), are also available.
EXPERIENCE:
Heidi & Peter was a welcome sight as I was stuck in the Verona train station for 90 minutes due to a connecting train delay. I picked up the mixed seed pretzel and later was sorry I hadn't purchased more ... so good! Although the shop sells other baked goods, this review is solely for the pretzel, which appears to be a significant aspect of the business.
AMBIANCE:
Beverages and baked goods are in glass cases. Counter servers will place your selection in bags for take out.
TIPS:
Purchase one of the locally made beverages to complement the pretzel.
Additional flavors include ham and cheese, sesame, olive oil and rosemary, salt, and cheese. Each around 6 US dollars. read more
