You expect top-tier service, but what you get is the exact opposite. In my experience, Justin seemed far more focused on securing the retainer than actually delivering results. After payment, communication became sparse, and no real progress was made on my case. He frequently offered excuses and blamed delays on the court system, but it was clear that the real issue was his own inaction. He prioritizes volume over quality, and I would strongly caution anyone considering his services. Hiring Justin turned out to be a total waste of both time and money. I went on here to write a review for another attorney who has been great to work with and when I saw such a high score I was floored. There was a big reason I never used Justin again. Justin talks the talk but does not get the results. I used him with a trust case about ten years ago and when the final ruling came back from the courts he never notified us. We had asked him about it a couple of days before the ruling and waited another or two before asking him again. He threw us an excuse that he was in some big court hearing. I am grateful for the Heideman team for taking on my case. Chris Rogers is nothing less than factual and honest because of the complexity of my case Justin has stepped in and took over. Justin is extremely, smart, knowledgeable and constantly making sure we cover all of our bases in the lawsuit. He traveled with me to an appeal hearing that the company wouldn't even let him come in. To make sure I knew I had support and counsel if needed. He brought everything so I was more then prepare. He has spent many hours doing extra research in case that someone would just normal filed the basics. Justin has taken the time to listen, calm me down when I would have loved to said or done something to jeopardize my case. Justin obviously has several horrible reviews on Google, but I still decided to give him a shot. I went by the assumption that they were all exceptions and I would be treated well, because from the way the reviews were responded to seemed justifiable enough. I don't know about those reviews, but I know that in my case I was treated very poorly. And that you likely will be too if you choose to use his services. Since this bad experience I've dealt with other attorneys and would recommend ANY other counsel besides this firm. Justin met with me and gave me a nice story about his dad treating customers well, and that he would treat me well and gave me many promises. I believed him and decided to give him a shot. He told me that any fee he'd charge we'd be able to collect in damages upon winning the case, and his plan was to ramp up the fees exponentially and get them as high as we possibly could, not give the opposing counsel any chance to settle, but force litigation for more money than I was thinking and get the fees even higher. He said that would force the opposing counsel to break down, and that I was basically guaranteed to come out on top because all legal fees would be 100% covered when we went to court. Over the next couple days I asked several other lawyers if that was a good plan and I got rebuked. I was told that courts VERY RARELY award all legal fees, and often don't award any legal fees, regardless of paperwork. I was told that is a crooked practice, and that I should get out quickly before he started charging fees. Up to that point I was told the first step that Justin would do is contact opposing counsel. I found that opposing counsel had not been contacted, I had not received a single question or other form of correspondence from Justin, so I cancelled services and asked for a refund. In short it took almost a month and multiple calls to get a response about the refund, and then I was told that 7 hours were spent to review text messages and emails I sent and I was going to be charged $250 an hour from what I paid. It's true I sent about 50 emails and bunch of text messages, but I don't believe for a second that any time was spent reading them. I didn't receive ANY calls, texts or emails during that time with questions, clarification, no call was made to opposing counsel, no notes from the "hours" he spent were provided to me, etc. Basically nothing was done, and I believe Justin created fraud hours to collect on doing nothing. It's a bad move on his part, and I am disgusted that I even had the thought to trust him. Not only would I not recommend him, but I think only a fool would use him. I was one of those fools. I hired Justin Heideman to assist me with a case against the Salt Lake City HA. He accepted the case, which was complex, on a contingency basis. At the very first sign of resistance, when an investigator advised that I had failed to prove 1 of 5 points of retaliation, he promptly dumped the entire case. Retaliation was only one factor of my case, but Heideman told me I had no case, period. It wasn't even up for discussion. When he was done, he was done. I believe and have stated in other reviews that if I had been paying him up front, my case would never have been dumped. Also important to know is that Heideman comes across as a bully. In fact, I think he IS a bully. I have felt bullied by him on more than one occasion. While being a bully is great skill to have as an attorney, one must be wise enough to remember not to bully clients, or people in general. Heideman clearly doesn't get this, in my experience. read more
