I was not impressed by the name and other reviews of this place but we were looking for sushi on a Sunday and it was a bit challenging. So we followed our gut feeling and came here for nigiri and sashimi. I have to say I was very surprised. Fresh fish!!! Service was great. We ordered a chief's choice for 2 plate and we liked what we had. Comes with miso soup for start. Also bathroom is nice and neat. Will definitely come back. read more

Its is a small Thai/asia restaurant in my hometown back in hamburg, Germany. I was here before long before i used type/yelp. It is constantly ok'ish. It is not outstanding food but it is also not bad. This time i had fried wantan and i was really disappointed, a specialty in Germany is that the fried wantan are filled (that different to the us when i ask even my favourite Chinese spot, they never are able to make filled wantan, it don't really get why, cause in the WanTan soup they always use filled ones) - but back to my experience with Hee Yang, i was disappointed cause the wantan have been filled but with just a very, very small amount of meat. As main course i had chicken sweet and sour. It was a small portion (I was here for Dinner). The sauce was ok not outstanding and chicken just some pieces. On the positive side it was made with fresh ingredients like gherkins, carrots and pineapple. But as said not a lot, even the rice was a small portion. i was still hungry so that i had to order another starter so i had the satay chicken kebabs. The peanut sauce and the skewers have been very good. and i was happy that i ended with the kebabs. Overall ok, but for the small portion and mediocre wantan i have to reduce 2 stars. Just another point on the positiv side: everything (except the fisch sauce) is without MSGs. Ich war schon ein paar mal mittags bei HeeYang, diesmal war es 22:30 und ich war noch hungrig. So endete ich bei Yang. Ich bestellte mir WanTan, das besondere in Deutschland gegenüber der USA wo ich jetzt lebe ist das man hier die WanTan füllt mit Schweinehack, oder manchmal auch mit Scampis. Das wurde auch hier gemacht, aber so dünn und wenig das ich es erst gar nicht gesehen habe, geschweige denn geschmeckt :(. Nun weiter zum Hauptgang was ein knusprigen Huhn süß sauer war. Auch hier wiederholte sich eine übersichtliche Portion. Ich möchte beinahe sagen ich hatte gefühlte 10kleine Stücke Hühnchen. Die Soße war ok, mir gefiel das man merken konnte es wurde mit frischen Zutaten wie Gurken, Karotten und Ananas gearbeitet. Aber selbst diese Zutaten waren spärlich auf dem Teller verteilt. Die Soße selber war wirklich ok für meinen Geschmack, da hatte ich wesentlich bessere (aber auch wesentlich schlechtere). Nun sei es drum, ich war noch hungrig und habe dann die Satay Spiesse bestellt. Die waren dann 100% lecker und ich war froh das dies mein Abschluss war denn bei der Soße hätte ich am liebsten den Teller abgeleckt. Das Hähnchenfleisch war super zart und saftig perfekt gegart und eben einfach lecker. Die Spiesse waren mit Hähnchen und abwechselnd immer ein Stück Frühlingszwiebel gesteckt. Wenn ich wieder hingehe werde ich sicherlich drei oder viermal die Spiesse bestellten und woanders meinen Hauptgang holen. Die waren es wirklich wert. Dennoch am Ende des Tages muss ich sagen zwei Sterne gehen an den Geiz auf dem Teller verloren. read more

This is a very nice thai and sushi restaurant at the Lange Reihe close to the main station. The staff was kind and the food tasted good. The prices are okay. It was pretty crowded and we were lucky to get the last table. It is probably better to reserve a table in advance. The entrance is even to the ground. read more

On a 5 minute walk from the central station I found this Thai/Japanese restaurant. Small, but cosy. Restaurant entourage was sparse, not that many oriental stuff on the walls like you see in so many other Asian restaurants. Light is semi bright, you can actually see what your eating... (and who your talking to) The Japanese Asai beer on the menu was not available, had to revert to Kirin (also ok!). Tried Sashimi moriawase (mixed raw fish) for starters and a hot Thai beef curry as main course. It took a considerable amount of time to serve the starting course. The Sashimi was almost worth the wait, very tasty fish indeed. The surimi sticks could have been replaced by some other fresh fish (not so very original..).Only the wasabi was not as spicy and hot as I hoped for. The main course, curry beef, was exactly what I hoped for. Very hot and tasty! Albeit that the beef was a little overcooked and hence not that tender as it could have been. All in all a okay experience, but not so excellent as other reviewers indicated. read more

Went here recently as one of my colleagues recommended it. Everything was tasty and seemed fresh. The place was packed at lunch so many other people also seem to think the place is good. It's fairly tight seating-wise but again, if a lot of people are here, things are being prepared fresh and it's a good sign in my eyes. There is an extensive menu and the pricing is definitely fair for the area. There is also seating out front if the weather plays along. I wouldn't call this place a "destination" but surely a good choice if in the area. read more

This is OK Thai food for people who are not overly fussy about Thai food. I usually have pretty specific ideas about what the food I order is supposed to taste like. Nothing we ordered here tasted the way I thought it should have, but it was nice enough all the same. My husband ordered the cashew chicken which was generously portioned with nuts, veggies and meat in a flavorful sauce. I ordered a Tom Kha Gai which was a bit bland, but I soon fixed that up with some chilis in fish sauce (what they bring you in lieu of hot sauce). Was pleased. But then came my fried noodles which, in all fairness, more or less the exact same thing one gets at whatever Hamburg's equivalent of China Box is. Sure, it had bok choy and lots of meat in it, but it was absolutely flavorless and uninspired. We couldn't find anything resembling Phad Thai on the menu; maybe it was there and we missed it, but I was pretty disappointed about that. None of the awesome rice noodle dishes, no Pad See-Ew either. For the price, I thought we could have done much better at the dim sum up the street or even at the China Wok imbiss at the train station. The service was competent and the food was not bad, but we work hard for the little money we have and will spend it elsewhere in the future. Nothing wrong with paying a decent price for good food but that was not really what we found herejust mediocre versions of potentially amazing dishes for people without a lot of experience with Thai cuisine. read more
