What a let-down…read more Given the purely positive Google reviews and a positive press article around its opening, plus its upmarket location - I was quite enthusiastic about my visit. When entering, the place feels like an outlet made for cheap sushi delivery: hand-cut papers at the windows, a few bar stool-type seats inside, a loud fridge. Only that they don't do any delivery. All no matter, if the food was great. But the sushi tasted bland, the rice was too hard and definitely not done with great expertise. And the poke bowl is even worse: the same hard rice, topped with salmon, avocado, edamame - plus a raw salad, carrots etc. in it, plus a vulgar mayonnaise sauce. Not pretty, and not tasty. If you want decent sushi in the Elbvororte area, the trek still has to go to Echtasien. And some local delivery services, e.g. Masuta, have better food than Hokkaido at comparable prices.

There are definitely better sushi restaurants in Hamburg (Echtasien being the best local option) - but for delivery, Masuta have the best rice and are generous with the ingredients. Delivery times can be long, so do pre-order when possible.
