Hedges are the most wonderful butcher. I'd be lost without them for home cooking. Great quality meats at a good economical price, very helpful with advice on how to cook certain, less popular, cuts or just general information and meat that you can special order from ribs of beef to wild duck. I've never had a bad purchase from them.
Admittedly it is, as another review says, not that easy to find with the entrance tucked away and this is their more catering-focused branch than the shop in Oxford, so you have to view things through a serving hatch. It is worth the time to find and you will want to visit regularly after the first time! Do also be prepared for queues out of the serving area come Christmas as everyone locally tries to get their orders picked up. Marvellous place though, simply can't recommend it enough. read more
