She goes on to say we texted you to be here prior 15 min mind you my appointment was at 10:20 I got there at that time thinking oh I have everything pre filled and we should go on without any problems. Nope lady sad too bad you need to make another appointment the doctor is already working with another patient! Excuse me how do you just proceed to go on without checking with the one that had her appointment? Definitely not professional and a waste of time. There was no type of solution, she was able to see another patient earlier which meant she would have that persons time freed up to see another. Instead of taking care of the problem and offering another slot for that day she just said nope you need to make another appointment. Let and will never be coming back. Professionalism is a must especially when dealing with medical. We need to have more people that care instead of people that have no hearts. I had a doctor at the ER that with all the tests done and the same info I shared, he did not give me the right antibiotic. I had a serious infection and high fever for a week and he doubled the antibiotics I had before I went to the ER... yes, and was charged 1k after insurance. Dr. Ortiz Saved another trip to the emergency room or something worse. I would take a good doctor even if it meant having to deal with some issues with the staff, it might just be uncomfortable to be in that position if you are in need of efficient staff. If you are, the manager resolved my issues when they were escalated, she was kind and made sure everything was okay.

I felt a bit assailed when I pressed for more information on the subject as though I questioned his knowledge. Six months later, my specialist rushed me an ultrasound and two days later I had an orchiectomy. The testicle was cancerous. This was NOT my experience at the Women's Comprehensive Clinic for Internal Medicine! Bobby was kind and cheerful which did wonders for putting me at ease about my blood draw. She is very skilled at her craft. I was also impressed with Dr. Rosemary Castoreno. She takes a comprehensive approach to women's health concerns and does not seek to quickly write prescriptions and over-medicate patients, I loved this about her. She took time to listen to my concerns and made a little extra time available for her staff to draw my blood, given I was so nervous about it. The location is very convenient to Joint Base San Antonio as well as I-35 and 281. They have only been in this location for three weeks but are off to a great start!

He takes time to listen to your symptoms, cares about your health and wellbeing, and (gasp) tends to be very timely. Added pluses are his location (I work downtown and often walk to/from his office), it is easy to get in to see him, and billing/admin stuff has never been an issue. If you are looking for primary care, I highly recommend Zarate Medical Group, in particular Rudy Zarate.

Jocelyn Zarate is my primary physician, but I've also seen Rudi when I was admitted to the hospital for an emergency surgery. The office staff is nice and I've only once had an issue with getting a prescription refill faxed to the pharmacy. I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes in the waiting room and they don't leave to alone too long in the exam room, which is nice. I have even received early morning calls from Dr. Zarate after leaving a panicked message with the answer service.

(This will also be pushed back if the opening provider is late) I know what you guys are doing, your overbooking. So you can get the most amount of patients seen in a day to turn the most amount of revenue (claims) for the owners at the patients times expense. Its terrible, and people in the area put up with it cause they don't know any better. I've been in healthcare for a long time and seen all sides. This is wrong. There's a ton of providers here I'll go somewhere else no thanks.

I'm sorry to have to be downgrading this review so severely but the way they recently handled my…read moremom's care was heart breaking. My mom was going be out of a blood pressure medication in a day and I had done everything they say to do by calling the pharmacy first so they can send a request for refill which the pharmacy sent twice to Health Texas. I'm not sure what happened with the original pharmacy request, it was sent the Saturday of a holiday weekend, but after the second day of hearing from the Health Texas call center that they had not yet received it, I asked the pharmacy to resend the request only to have it rejected immediately by Health Texas and was told she needed an appointment first. We did have an appointment the next week but she would run out of the medicine days before the visit which would put her health at risk. The pharmacy gave us a few extra pills but it still wasn't enough to avoid a deficit. I called Health Texas every day for three days as her medicine dwindled and was told each time they have to wait on the pharmacy request, only to then reject said pharmacy request. When I asked the clinic about this, they said they didn't see that it was rejected. This is a major issue if the Health Texas system is erroneously rejecting refill requests for health sustaining medication. On the third day of this issue I sent a message through the portal as a last attempt but the only version of the drug in my mom's portal was not the extended release (ER) even though we had asked them many times to take the non-ER version off her record. I hoped given she has only been prescribed extended release this whole past year that they would know to send that but they didn't. On the fourth day of this issue, they sent the refill but not for the extended release (ER) type she had been taking over a year. My mom cannot not take the non-ER version because it makes her blood pressure critically low. I was flustered at this point as my mom had taken her last pill that morning. I called once again to tell them she needed the ER type and requested once again to have the other non-ER drug off her record. We finally got the medicine she needed in time for her next dose but needless to say this whole problem did not inspire confidence in their communication system for critical issues.
