Best to get there early to grab parking though we found plenty of spots at 11am. A short and easy hike through the Sea to Sky Trail, it is easy for all with no steep drops or climbs through a pretty canopied woods! The trail takes you to a beautiful and picturesque suspension bridge across the Cheakakmus river and ends at the Whistler Train Wreck where an accident pulled several cars off the tracks and they were pulled into the woods to quickly clear the trails - they have become curious pieces of art with graffiti artists adding to the designs over the years! Well worth a visit for this unusual art exhibit in the middle of the woods !

A short hike reveals a number of rail cars strewn about the woods. In the ensuing years, the rail cars have been covered in graffiti... some consider it art. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth the visit for history buffs.

It was my first time, and I am someone who is scared of both heights and speed, so this was a big deal for me. But Lucy and Max from the Ziptrek team were incredible. They made me feel so comfortable and safe the entire time, and honestly gave me the courage to actually enjoy it instead of being scared. And trust me, it is completely worth it. There are 5 ziplines and each one has such a beautiful, breathtaking view. I loved every second of it and I already know I will be doing this again. Highly recommend it to anyone, even if you are scared like me.

Alexander Falls is an under the radar waterfall situated just off Sea to Sky Highway, located about…read more24 kilometers east of Whistler, British Columbia. I liked the view and perspective of Alexander Falls. In fact, this whole section within the great outdoors of BC, Canada boasts some frequent and picturesque looking waterfalls. I combined this Alexander Falls with a bunch of other waterfalls including... - Nairn Falls. - Rainbow falls. - Brandywine Falls. - Shannon Falls. As long as you're driving Sea to Sky Highway...you should bump into all these natural wonders without having to venture too far off the beaten path. At the most...you may have to hike 1 kilometer or so at a few of the waterfalls. For myself, I decided to make my journey along Sea to Sky Highway a "waterfall themed" adventure trying to capture as many falls as I could within my travels. In my opinion, it's just fun to view waterfall, after waterfall, after waterfall, lol. Even if they're not so spectacular or epic looking, I think getting out into nature and admiring them from afar puts people in a good mood, like for me, it felt like I was allocating my time appropriately during my explorations eventually down to Vancouver. But for this Alexander Falls, you make a turn onto Callaghan Road, just off Sea to Sky Highway and...before arriving, you make one last left hand turn into the Alexander Falls Parking Lot. This last bit of road was extremely bumpy, filled with massive potholes. I arrived in late September on a Saturday at about 9am and was the only person here. After exiting my car, Alexander Falls was already in full view. It was that easy. I did look for hiking trails to possibly get a closer angle of the waterfall but there were clear signs warning visitors that walking past the viewing platform could be unpredictable and unstable. It was highly suggested to hang out by the overlook. So...the vista point view you get of Alexander Falls is pretty much undisturbed. If I had to describe anything in the moment, I'd say I was standing a little too far away. It would have been nicer to be positioned closer. Regardless, I still had ample time to appreciate the setting without strangers getting in the way, lol. Some facts about Alexander Falls according to Wikipedia... "Alexander Falls is a waterfall in the Callaghan Valley area of the Sea to Sky Country of southwestern British Columbia, Canada. The falls are located just below a bridge on the access road to Callaghan Lake Provincial Park, at the head of the valley, which lies to the west of the resort town of Whistler. The falls consist of three drops that total up to 141 feet (43 m) in total. The falls are about 40 feet (12 m) wide". I only needed about 20 minutes to get in some photos before feeling content and moving on. In total, I enjoyed Alexander Falls' appearance, especially since Nairn Falls and Rainbow Falls were relatively disappointing prior to stopping here. And after Alexander Falls, 13 kilometers south is the best of em all and that being...Brandywine Falls! So, for those trying to check off as many waterfalls as possible in this part of Sea to Sky Highway, I'd put Alexander Falls in the middle-to-upper echelon in terms of worthwhileness. I think you'll be pleasantly satisfied with your visit.

The drive from sea to sky on Callaghan Road is around 15 minutes however it is known as the best unofficial place to see bears in Whistler. The road was paved for the 2010 olympics and grass was planted on either side that apparently grows clover (which bears love). So be careful out there and whatever you do don't get out of the car if you see one. If you visit Alexander falls in spring there is still 3-4 feet of snow on the ground so snow boots or snowshoes will help you get to the lookout. But once you get there because you're standing on 3-4 feet of ice you're above the railing of the lookout so you'll get great shots! (Just be careful to not fall over) This is another example of why Whistler is one of the most beautiful places in BC to visit. Towards the end of spring the tap to the waterfall is turned on full blast because of melting ice and snow so it's a really pretty show and you'll also get to see the rainbow effect on clear days like at Brandywine falls. There really is no hike here only an easy five minute stroll from your car to the look out and picnic tables to munch on grub. There are bathrooms here but I'd hold it until you get to a real one because these are outhouse styled. This is definitely one of mother nature's creations that you shouldn't miss if you visit Whistler. #WhistlerWonderland

I guess I had a different image in my head. Some grass areas were wet/muddy due to sprinklers, and most of the good sitting areas were already taken. The water is cold and just doesn't look too clean - but maybe this is normal for lakes? I probably only stayed in the water for 5 minutes before I started wondering if I would catch something. If swimming in the lake is not for you, I think there is also a hiking trail nearby.

It was super easy to get there using Apple Maps and there is free parking right under the bridge. I purchased my photos from the professional photographer after the fact and they offered discount if both my boyfriend & I purchased our photos. My boyfriend just took a video of me on my iPhone. I would for sure go here again & will recommend it to anyone I know going to Whistler!! It was a super quick drive from the mountain.

I purchased the 5 days edge pass in May without realizing that my mom will need a knee replacement surgery this coming winter. As soon as I know the surgery is happening in this coming winter, I put in a request online to refund my money at the beginning of July. They not only asking you to fill out a mile long form with all those emails going back and forth, you are also requested to get all the signed documents from the doctors for approvals. It's been 2 months and I am still waiting for the refund. I've been going to Whistler for more than 30 yrs, this year is the worst experience ever.

Needed this dayscape - via the magnificent Sea-to-Sky Highway to the majestic mountain enclave - Whistler - in beautiful British Columbia! Folks be prepared - you will be tempted to stop several times on the drive up. Spectacular views during the daylight hours will leave you breathless!!! This review is done under - Whistler - but encompasses the drive up, the beautiful scenery, the mountains & forest that are all part of an amazing nature built province ('State' - for all those in Merica) of BC. And no, BC does not belong to Britain but to Canada. Don't laugh I've been asked this question before! I won't get into the whole Commonwealth technicality but yes if one is leaning towards that angle I guess you could say - the Queen does own the whole of Canada as we pay mega bucks as in millions each year to the UK - to be part of the British Empire! Oh how lucky we are!? So Harry & Megan got tired of this British royalty life & escaped to a quieter environment in ... Hollywood!?? Ok then!!! The big draw to Whistler is in the winter - skiing & snowboarding. The Blackcomb & Whistler mountains are world wide renowned & super popular! Hiking & mountain biking takeover in the summer. Whistler is mighty expensive so bring all 5 of your credit cards! There are a few good restaurants as well but please make reservations ahead of time or you'll be left hopping around to find whatever's available. Of note & in no particular order but worth trying, Oso Bar (Spanish) - make reservations this spot is fire (thank you manager for the complimentary dessert), Lucia Gelato (try the Ginger flavour), Fat Tony's Pizza (open till 3am so could be a real life saver), El Funiture Warehouse aka All Food @ $5.95 Everyday - that's like $3 bucks US right!?! Everyone eats here, superstars, the rich, the average Joe - there's no class rules when your starving & don't want to blow a lot of money - you will save money eating here!!! Avalanche Pizza, Splitz Grill (can be pricey but it's the burger you design so blame yourself for the hunger causing your mind to go crazy with so many toppings) & finally tacos at La Cantina. There's a few more spots including fine dining but that will be for an update after covid-19 ends. I'm real hesitant to go inside & prefer to stick to patio dining for now, as much as I can. The Whistler Village area is real easy to walk around in & you'll only need to drive if you have to go further up the mountain. I have been coming to Whistler since the early 90s & have stayed in many hotels & condo rentals. Definitely shop around & prebook your stay before coming up here. However, today's trip was just a day trip escape from the big city & was thoroughly enjoyed. The drive from Vancouver takes 90 minutes or less depending on how fast you drive - longer if you stop along the way & or make a pit stop in Squamish, a beautiful town & worth the stop - see my Squamish review. Whoa got the shock of my life while walking about! Five years ago on a cruise in the Caribbean, our group met the super charismatic, charming, & so awesome Cruise Director (entertainment) Matt! Check him out on Instagram @ mattcruisedirector. Merica many of you might be very familer with him from the Carnival Cruise Line!!! Couldn't believe he's now living here - currently on the Sunshine Coast of BC but will be relocating to Vancouver. It was a pleasure to run into him & his wife! I had vivid fond cruise flashback memories while chatting with him. That awesome cruise back in 2015 on Carnival Breeze was phenomenal!!!!! It was a total awesome riot! I discovered my island paradise - Curaçao! Side note - Vancouver & Whistler hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics! I can tell you from first hand experience with actually being involved in the Olympics as a volunteer - it was so spectacular an event!!!!! Vancouverites today still speak highly of it! This is a easy and beautiful hike near Whistler…read more An easy 30 minute or so drive North of Whistler Village, best to arrive earlier to secure parking and it's a lovely, easy hike along the water, canopied by trees until you reach a spectacular waterfall at the end. Multiple look out points so everyone can get a great vantage point. The lookout is over rock that can get slick when wet but there are ropes you can hold on to if needed. Absolutely breathtaking scenery and on a mid summer day, it was not too busy on our early morning hike!

We arrived at about 3:30pm and there were quite a few parking spots occupied. Luckily, some people were leaving and cleared out as we arrived. The hike itself was more of an easy level of 3km round trip. There are some areas fenced off by the falls where they want guests to stay within the safe boundaries. There are some trails where you can get a closer look/wade into the water. Honestly, not too challenging. You won't want to bring a lot of items (water and proper attire) since it is a relatively quick and short hike. The campground was at max capacity, so we were unable to check it out. We did meet hikers of all ages and abilities on the hike, so you're able to take it at your leisure. The spot is located between Whistler and Pemberton, off the Sea to Sky Highway (#99). If you want some pretty scenery and a relatively quick and easy hike, would definitely recommend. They did have a bear sighting (board said July 18th), so that's at your own risk.

They have a parking lot, and we had no issues with finding a spot at that time. It's a short, easy trail to the falls - maybe about 10 minutes. The falls are big but is unfortunately partially blocked by foliage and rocks. If you keep going, you'll get some views of the mountains and a greenish blue lake. It's a nice and quick stop if you're driving on the way to something else, but probably not something worth making a stop specifically for.

A little rowing (and a lot of just floating) later, we arrived at Green Lake and just allowed the wind to help us drift across glacial waters so green we felt like they can be seen from outer space. We dipped our hands into that water, splashed it around a bit, and pondered just how much time and attention it voluntarily sacrifices to the stresses of today. It whispered its response back to us, "None." So what to do if Green Lake doesn't happen to be in your backyard, and yet an escape is exactly what you need right about now? Good question! Walk down the path where you find a nice little park with people lounging and participating in water activities. We struggled and found ourselves in the village until we called to ask where exactly they were located. The rental cabin here is situated right on the end of Alta Lake with canoes, kayaks, etc. for rent. We signed a waiver, got a quick lesson, and were pretty much off with our kayak for $30 CAD/hour. They provided lifejackets, paddles, and even a waterproof pouch to store your things. If you're smart, bring a nice beer or drink along as they have cupholder in the kayak. Even though this was my second time kayaking, it's easy to pick up. Unfortunately, I am still terrible at it and totally lack the strength and direction to pull through. Thank goodness we got the two-person kayak, so I had help --lots of help. You can make it across the entire lake and back within the hour, which was all we needed.
