I don't know how they do it. The kind, caring, and compassionate folks at Heaven's Pets made an absolutely devastating time far easier than I had expected. My baby girl died on Monday morning. On Tuesday morning, they called after receiving her from the vet. That poor woman on the phone had to deal with my snot-nosed crying, and she was still able to make me laugh. By Thursday, my girl was returned to me in the most beautiful box, and all of the trimmings--silicone paw print, nose/paw print (inked), a huge clipping of fur, beautiful poems, you name it. Losing a pet is so dang hard, but they really did right by her, and I am so appreciative for the care and compassion from the staff here. They really gave me a lifetime of memories, and I am ever so grateful for how amazing they are and the services they provided. read more

This is to share the quality business and customer service we received from Heavens Pets after our dog suddenly passed this week. I had used them before and was pleased but after using them less than a year later I was traumatized by the experience. I payed $250 for the gold package and specifically requested that the urn match my other baby's urn and they gave me a smaller one. I drove over to have it swapped out and they refused to help me. I was already in such a raw place and this put me over the edge. Finally after I broke down into tears they offed to let me buy a bigger one. Absolutely horrific service. My cat has been ill for a while and as she really began to slow down I started researching what I would do when she passed, not going to lie the reviews for what happened after the fire at Heavens Pets frightened me. My vet ended up putting her to sleep in his office and I again got nervous when he said he works with Heavens Pets. The experience with them was good. They called us after they picked her up and respectfully explained all of the available packages. I ended up getting the silver package that came with card including a print of her nose and paw that can be used for jewelry at a later time. I was happy when we got her back home, the lock of hair proved to me it's her. It's emotional to lose a pet but I feel the situation was handled well and with respect. read more

Extremely compassionate. Quality and beauty of box is best of any others I have received. They even called to ask if I had a preference regarding which paw for imprint and ink. I wouldn't have thought of that in my grief but I actually had a preference. But the biggest unexpected surprise that was above and beyond expectations was sending the plate and screws from her TPLO surgery. I called that her bionic leg. Judging by the past comments, it seems the prices have risen quite a bit. Anyway, I was trying to arrange for my friends cat to be cremated. I made this very clear. The person on the other like still kept asking questions about "my cat" that I could not answer because it was not my cat. I was just trying to find out their hours and that alone. Instead, I get dragged into questions I cannot answer because the person on the other line isn't listening to me. Maybe she was reading from a script? ZERO STARS!! DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND LOVE YOUR BABY... BECAUSE THEY DO NOT!!!!!! Did you even give me my baby back? Or just a bag of random ashes!?!? The custom urn arrived scratched and the engraving was crooked! The cylinder necklace engraving is smudged and sloppy! I asked (and paid) for front AND rear paw prints... I only received front! When I asked about this they insisted they did his back prints but no one can tell me which are supposed to be his back paws... why? Because none of them are! They even labeled one of the prints "Fr" for front! This print matches the others! When I showed the woman the messed up necklace and urn (immediately after she handed them to me... opened btw, so they already saw them) she told me "well that's how we got it". As if I am supposed to just accept that?! They do not offer refunds nor do they offer to fix anything that's messed up. They DO NOT CARE! I wonder if the remains I have are even of my baby!!! Their "just deal with it/oh well" attitudes are insanely unprofessional, obnoxious, and unacceptable! How many times have you been sued? Fix your attitudes and fix your business! My 15+ year old cat passed in January, and since I rent, I needed to find an alternative to burial. I called around and everyone suggested Heaven's Pets. They're the only outfit in town that does cremation. When I called I was told that there were two types of cremation available, private or communal. Alistair, my cat, was....a very difficult cat and keeping his ashes was not a priority to me so communal seemed the best option. I wrapped him up as he passed at home, and brought him over on a rainy, dreary day. The staff was respectful, reserved and empathetic. They took Al away and asked me to sit. "Oh no" I thought, "they're going to want to talk to me about him." A lady sat with me to go over my information and the method I preferred as well as to chat a little bit about Al, the kind of cat he was and to sympathize with me. I was really impressed by her sincerity, and in my grief appreciated that they made me and his memory feel special and unique. They quoted two weeks to pick up his memories (clean blanket, lock of hair, paw print, poems, certificate of cremation). The lack of 5 stars is because it took me nearly a month to pick up Al's memories. I called at the three week mark and was told that someone would call me back. After a week with no communication, I called again and was told I could come by that day. Again, I was seated, the golden retriever support dog "Blitzen" came to keep me company and a different lady talked over all the pieces of my memory package. When I first spotted the bag of his hair I thought goodness, they must have given me some other cat's hair as it looked too dark. But upon closer inspection I saw all the dandruff and flecks of tablecloth he had rubbed into and knew it was him after all. I am overall quite pleased with my experience, the level of care given and the value of the service. Communal cremation was $100 which includes a paw or nose print, and lock of hair at no extra charge. Private cremation with the return of their ashes costs $200. Urns not included. read more

The letters that came with the urn were so beautiful they had me crying, but most all were helpful with grieving. I've used this place 2 other times but I never had an experience like I had today. I got a call about my dog, Rayne & when I could pick her remains. I can't do it during the week because I work so the person who called me to tell me I could pick Rayne up Saturday from 9-1. Well I went just before 10 am on Saturday & the lady at Heaven's Pets told me that she wouldn't be ready til Monday. We that means I can't pick up Rayne til next Saturday. I was upset & the last apologized but I told her to make sure that they train the people who answer their phones to make to provide accurate info to the customer. It may sound picky but it's bad enough that she died but now I have to do this all over again next week. Otherwise Heaven's Pets is the right place to use if you want have loving & memorable tribute to your pet. read more

While this is seemingly difficult to write, it's also quite easy because it's a good feeling to be FTR (first to review) an incredibly deserving business. Heaven's Pets provides pet owners with a necessary service: they help you say goodbye and honor your beloved furry friend who gave you years of unconditional love. My 16 year-old-cat, Iphy, died at home last Wednesday. While deeply saddened by the loss of my best friend who had been at my side for practically my entire adult life (through 10 moves, 5 jobs, countless life events), I'm glad she died at home, where I had been with her almost non stop for three days. When your pet dies at home, you of course have to take matters of remains into your own hands. When researching crematory services for pets, not much came up. There is a place on the Westbank that came recommended by my vet and then I found the website for Heaven's Pets and was won over by them because they are completely transparant about fees and what these fees include. The fact that bereavement counseling is included in the fees was especially impressive, as well as the fact that I read that they let you spend time with your beloved before they are taken away and you are also counseled a bit (if you want) at that time. They leave the grieving process up to you but offer guidance when needed. Amazing. With a heavy heart, I brought her in. The building is located in Lake Lawn Cemetery, just follow the signs. I was greeted by a kind lady who offered to wheel out a gurney to pick up my girl. This was handled with such respect, I'm choked up right now. This kind lady then sat down with me to discuss options, not unlike what happens in any funeral home. The cost is determined by weight and 1-20lbs is $175 for a private cremation with remains returned to you in a lovely little hand-carved wooden box. You can also opt to receive a piece of hair and a paw print (I opted for the hair only. I couldn't bear to see her paw print for some reason). Although they said it might take up to three days, Iphy was ready to be picked up the next day. I had to wait until Saturday to do so (they are open 9-1 on Saturday). When I went to pick her up, another extremely kind lady greeted me, as did the most darling dog. While she met with me to discuss the remains (a number is assigned to your pet and that number stays with them throughout the process so that you know it's your pet, again, similar to people) a wonderful thing happened. An adorable orange cat entered the room and made a beeline for me! She sat on the table in front of me, while the dog was at my feet and I just felt so incredibly at peace right then. I cannot recommend this business enough. I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you so much, Heaven's Pets for existing. Once you use their service, you can attend aforementioned bereavement group sessions once a week. Although I think I'm OK, I can think of situations in the past when such a service would be very valuable. By the way, the lovely orange kitty is up for adoption from the Humane Society. There is a strong lack of communication (by choice) because they don't want to face victims of their fire. the staff is trained to tell you how "devistated" they are.... yet the customers are the ones that lost the pets in the fire. Today is March 15, there was a fire in January- and some people still have not had a returned phone call regarding their previous pets that were left in the care of Heavens Pets. Heavens Pets is still fully operational (outsourcing) and bringing in dollars.....yet they are claiming our dead dogs on their insurance claim. They are truly truly disgusting humans and cowards. We never blamed anyone for the fire. We blamed them for going MIA and getting defensive with us in time of tragedy. Horrible business practice. We know they are focused on money- not finding our babies that were burned in their fire. read more

Recently my puppy died due to a seizure, we had no choice but to have him cremated. Heavens pets really seems to like putting there name on everything with paper stickers, I attempted to pull off the stickers only to leave paper on the wooden box. To say I'm a bit angry is an understatement, my puppy couldn't be buried due to an agreement my vet has with this place and thus my puppy comes home in a plastic bag with a sticker that once again says Heavens pets. read more

I recently lost my elderly cat, the first pet I've lost as an adult. I was referred to Heaven's Pet by my vet and was so pleased with their service. The staff was so compassionate and thorough. Most incredible service and staff!! Being new to the area I had no idea who to contact after my 19 year old, Xena (92yr cat years) passed away at home. I called our vet they had no hesitation to contact Heavens Pets. I called very sympathetic staff, made arrangements, they came to house went through everything in detail again in person. They brought a lovely big basket lined with faux fur, placed Xena in basket, asked 1 more time if I wanted anything to go with her. We choose the private cremation. 3 days later they called to bring her back. As the owner of a 16 1/2 year old cat that was ill, I was displaced to New Orleans due to Hurricane Irma. On Sunday, my baby had taken a turn for the worst and I was forced to make an end of life appt. My baby died that morning and since I elected to have the private cremation, Heaven's Pet picked her up the next day. They called me on Tuesday to say that handled the cremation and that her remains would be taken back to the vet that I used near the airport. I explained my situation and they stated that they will see what they can do and call me back. I received a call Wednesday morning and told they could bring her directly to me at the hotel in the Quarter. I asked that she let me know when the driver was close so that I could walk back and meet her. She stated that was not necessary that she would come to me. When the driver arrived she walked me through the paperwork, the poems and handed me the beautiful box with her remains, hair clipping and paw print.
