Though I've never actually bought anything from the store, I've tried on numerous pairs of shoes there over the years, and have always been really impressed by the quality of the shoes as well as the wide selection. The staff at Mischief are really helpful, and don't mind you trying on half the store (something I've done quite a few times!), as they too are shoe lovers and understand how important it is to find not only the perfect fit but also the perfect style for you. Stocking popular, fashionable and quality brands like Nude, Soles, Clarks, Chaos and Harmony and Paolo Vandini, Mischief caters to both men and women aged about 16 years onward. A little pricey is ol Mischief, but this an example of the whole 'what you get is what you pay for' scenario. Every pair of shoes in this store is made from excellent quality materials and is on trend with the latest European fashions. If you're in Newmarket and feel the need to treat yourself, take a peek in Mischief - it's well named - you never know what you'll be leaving the store with!

When i last wondered in here, my nephew (4) was really taken with some of the shoes! He would pick out the fanciest, shiniest, most sparkly high heel and bring it over to me and ask if I'd like to try it on. I was starting to worry about his love of shoes but thought he could obviously just appreciate quality as much as I can. I noticed down the back there are a few shoes on sale. This is a pretty important thing for me because most of the prices are well above my price range and so sale items are unfortunately my only option.

They have such a sweet as range of different colours and styles that I would be put to the test to decide on the right one. Other than those famous Brazilian jandals loved the world over, I really like the range of Sanuk shoes in store- so comfy and for the eco conscious shopper. The Bach Surf shop has been present in Matakana village for many a year since the early part of this millennium. I love the brands they offer- my faves are Billabong, Quicksilver, Sea Folly, Dragon and Havaianas. So remember if you have mistakenly left your sunnies or hat at home on your way north, pop in to The Bach and they will provide you with style and quality.

I was a bit shocked to find my Havianas cost nearly $40 for the pair, but apparently that's the going price! The lady who looked after me was lovely and totally made me feel better about my splurge by admitting that she had bought the same pair in leopard earlier in the day. She also gave me a loyalty card... not that I need any additional motivation to buy shoes. I must admit, most of the brands they stock i've never heard of but the shop assistant tells me that they're largely from Aussie. In fact, I still have them in my wardrobe somewhere. Since then I have bought numerous pairs of her shoes and I have always found them to be well made and comfortable without compromising on style. If they are good enough for Bey and Blue, they are good enough for me! Seriously though, Kathryn used to come into the restaurant I worked at and I served her several times and always found her to be incredibly lovely. The Warkworth Hospice shop is one of the largest I've been to. Hidden along Argyll lane it's a…read morelittle gem, and definitely worth a visit. They have a good range of clothing; and it always smells clean, not old and musty! Their book section is another favourite, it's good for seeking out those really old classics that the library has long got rid of. They have quite a bit of bric-a-brac, which I don't have much time for but Mum spends hours ferreting though. I've always found loads at the WW hospice shop, probably loads I really don't need, but at least I know that my money is going to a fabulous cause (and not to one of the richest men in the country who runs Save Mart!)

The St Helier's Dove Shop only has stock that's in totally pristine condition. Seriously, you won't find a posher op shop in Auckland. It's really nice and not at all stinky. You can pick up the most amazing stuff here, from men's and women's clothing, to furniture, homewares, kids' clothing, and games. It's not a matter of luck finding something you like, or something in good condition, the only gamble is getting stuff in the right size, so I end up buying something almost every time I visit. Also, the staff are really nice and onviously volunteering for a really great cause - the Eastern Bays Hospice. The prices reflect the quality of the stock here, but they're still extremely reasonable, and hey, it's put to excellent use.

As far as opportunity shops go, I have to say this one in St Heliers is pretty disappointing. Yes,…read morethe stock is probably expensive because of the St Heliers location which is definitely quite an affluent area, however I don't really think the quality of the stock matches the prices you pay. It is very neat and organised all of the time, however I'm not ever really a huge fan of the shop attendants who work here, none are overly pleasant and are definitely not the reason why I keep coming back here. Actually, I'm not quite sure why I keep coming back here - perhaps I have convinced myself that maybe one day I will actually find something I like that is not priced exorbitantly above what it should be. I guess I'll just keep looking then...
